  1. And you'll know how and where that cash can be found I take it. I'm quite sure people at the club work very hard to win sponsorship. I'm not so sure that the highlands have enough business with the advertising budgets needed to provide that sponsorship. Especially with so many sports clubs vying for a share in what is not a densely populated area. Look where we are in league of average earnings and its easy to see why its hard to persuade the class of player we'd all like to see at the club. Below is from here http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/celtic/1321105-celtics-average-wage-bill-is-25-times-higher-than-ross-countys/ Average annual pay Average weekly pay Celtic £901,943 £17,345 Aberdeen £140,699 £2,706 Hibernian £102,199 £1,965 Dundee United £91,538 £1,760 St Mirren £78,447 £1,509 Kilmarnock £74,981 £1,442 St Johnstone £67,999 £1,308 Motherwell £67,639 £1,301 Hearts £63,999 £1,231 Inverness CT £53,690 £1,033 Partick Thistle £45,498 £875 Ross County £36,000 £692 The figures you've quoted are 2 seasons old.
  2. Nope! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33801858 Apparently his next club is going to be Port Vale.
  3. Fon Williams Raven Draper Devine Williams Polworth Tansey Mutombo Christie Vigurs Riordan
  4. That's not true. Riordan was a trialist for them in Feburary last season and scored a couple goals in that time. He was officially signed in March and then went on to start all but two games until the end of the season. So to sum up he played 13 games and scored 4 goals for East Fife.
  5. I read an article featuring him last month and he was pretty much begging for a club to take a chance on him, so it wouldn't surprise if he is willing to play for free with us.
  6. Doubt that is true, it would be a disaster for the squad. If we were going to get a player aged 30+ then I hope it's Lee Miller.
  7. Graeme Shinnie's scored his first goal for Aberdeen against Killie today.
  8. Nope! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33801858 Interesting! I don't suppose that was us sniffing about again? I hope not, after reading that article about him there, he doesn't come across very well. Apparently we were going to offer him a contract before the Astra home game but that also fell through because he had a high wage demand because we were playing in Europe.
  9. If we get an Iain Vigurs with a good attitude and a point to prove, I reckon this move over time could work out to be a good bit of business.
  10. Injury Crisis? Following on from the disappointing 1-0 defeat to Motherwell last weekend, John Hughes’ men face a shorter away trip down the A9 to face St Johnstone in Perth. The major talking point for tomorrow’s game will undoubtedly be concerning the injury list that just seem to keep growing, how long will it be before Yogi himself has to dust off those boots? The Caley Jags could be going to McDiarmid park with an estimated 7/8 first team players sitting on the sidelines. Last weekend saw Inverness defeated by a rejuvenated Motherwell side at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. It was a very disappointing afternoon for all concerned at Caley Thistle where nothing seemed to go in our favour. Slack play from Greg Tansey gifted Motherwell a quick surge allowing debutant Wes Fletcher to score what proved to be the winner for the ‘well. The bad news didn’t end there as Gary Warren now faces several months out of action due to a devastating clash with Motherwell’s Stephen Pearson who also was left with an injury from the incident. After hearing the news that Gary had broken his leg I was a little taken a back, it was seen multiple times he was trying to ‘walk it off’ - a true warrior. It wasn’t all doom and gloom though as there were a couple positives to take from the game. Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo made a promising start to his ICT career and Owain Fon Williams made some crucial saves, both players will be looking to continue in similar vein tomorrow. St Johnstone went to newly promoted Hearts where they were narrowly defeated 4-3 by the Tynecastle side. Saints new boys John Sutton and Graham Cummins got on the scoresheet and our defenders will definitely need to be keeping a close eye on. Tommy Wright has made some good transfer dealings this summer window. He has added John Sutton from Motherwell, Graham Cummins from Exeter City, Joe Shaughnessy from Aberdeen, Brad McKay (big ‘K’) from Hearts and also brought back former player Liam Craig from Hibernian. Like Inverness, St Johnstone have managed to keep a hold of the core of their team with the only notable departures being Lee Croft, Brian Graham and James McFadden. Last season’s run of results against St Johnstone at McDiarmid park was a 1-0 loss aided by a dive that Tom Daley would have been proud of and was then followed by a 1-1 draw in April with Aaron Doran putting Inverness ahead before Brian Graham got the equaliser. The games against St Johnstone always prove to be stern tests for Caley Thistle but tomorrow could be a whole different challenge with the hinderance of our current injuries. The referee for tomorrow’s game will be none other than Scotland’s most lovable referee Mr William Collum. If I was a betting man, I would be straight down to the bookies before the game to bet on some form of controversy in the way of a red card or penalty for either team. Inverness John Hughes stated to the press this week that ‘one or two’ could return from injury. It’s also been said that Josh Meekings could still play despite his current injury. Long term absentees Dean Brill and Gary Warren will be unavailable for the Caley Jags. St Johnstone will be without Steven Anderson and Chris Millar. Steven MacLean will make a return from his suspension and there also could be a slight chance that captain Dave Mackay and Murray Davidson could make their returns for the hosts. ICTRoughi’s prediction:- With a combination of our current injury list and also the evident lack of fire power in the final third, I predict ICT won’t score a goal. I also think John Sutton and co will pose too much of a threat for our makeshift defence. We will give it our all as per but ultimately I think St Johnstone will win this one quite comfortably.
  11. Just done a quick research on him and seen that he hasn't played for a club since the deal with us fell through. Interestingly enough, there was a picture of him on Twitter in his ICT gear with what I presume to be a physio from may last year.
  12. Mid August seems to be the general consensus.
  13. I was thinking the same actually, however being left footed I was wondering whether Yogi sees him as a potential back-up to Tremarco also? In my opinion he would be so wasted at left back, I tend to think that about Danny Williams. I think that Vigurs could add a bit of a creative spark in the final third that has been missing and like RiG says free kicks and corners would improve if he does come back to the club.
  14. Just read on Pie and Bovril there that apparently Iain Vigurs has been training with us and Yogi is waiting for the funds from Kenny Cameron. IIRC Didn't Renegade say last month that Vigurs was offered a contract?
  15. I don't think it's a swipe at the board. It's just simply a manager making a plea to the chairman/board for a helping hand given the injury dilemma we find ourselves in.
  16. Average weekly pay for them is about £700? I'm sorry but I don't buy that. The figures are also from season 13/14. I'd imagine that's pretty accurate to be honest. The higher earners will be on 2-3k at a push and the youths etc. will bring the average down. There's no chance that Kiss was on 6k a week unless Cardiff were paying the bulk of that. Having said that, County probably have a higher wage bill than at least a couple of other team in the league at present, As I say the figures are from a few seasons back but I just cannot envision guys like Rickie Foster, Jackson Irvine, Andrew Davies, Brian Graham and Scott Fox etc on around £700 p/w. Using the table as from the previous link, my estimation for County's average weekly pay would be around £1.5K p/w
  17. Average weekly pay for them is about £700? I'm sorry but I don't buy that. The figures are also from season 13/14.
  18. Technically isn't an ex player but still relevant, I see JJ Hooper has signed for Cheltenham. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33801858
  19. Lowest wages in the SPL? County? You must be joking. I'd guess that Hamilton have probably got the lowest wage bill. I say 'guess' and 'probably' as I've nothing to back it up! You could be right with that one but I would imagine we are close to the bottom. Not a chance County are the lowest in the league when it was said Filip Kiss was getting £6K p/w
  20. Lowest wages in the SPL? County? You must be joking.
  21. I'd love to see us get Lawrence Shankland as he definitely fits the bill for a goalscoring striker. I do doubt that Aberdeen would agree for us to get him on loan as Aberdeen would class us as a close rival to them in the league. I think it was recently said that Shankland was moving out on loan to St Mirren but I guess nothing has materialised since then? For our defensive problems with Gary Warren being out for a couple months, the football manager player in me would suggest Luca Gasparotto from Rangers on loan for 6 months. I actually had a quick look to see what others were saying and he seems to be highly rated and I also remember that Calum Ferguson and him played for Canada U20 recently. For our left back troubles, what about Stephen Kingsley? He was playing for Falkirk for a couple of seasons and got himself a move to Swansea and I doubt he's going to be in the first team anytime soon.
  22. 2-0 Hamilton Morris and Tierney
  23. Team to face Accies: Hoban, C Brown, Howarth, J Brown, Gilchrist, MacArthur, Rennie, Blackett, MacRae, Sutherland, Wilson
  24. Apparently in tomorrow's Highland News, Yogi is pretty much asking Kenny Cameron and the board for loan deals - Sounds promising!
  25. HT: 1-0 FT: 2-0 1st ICT: Lopez 1st St Johnstone: Sutton First Goal: 27 mins
