SEVCO 5088 LIMITED - THE MYSTERY
Going bust once can be seen as a mistake and bad management Doing it again is "criminal" I don't really have a word for it Their fans may not be every bodies cup of tea , but they love their club, and this carry on is not fair on people who just want a team to support After the first crash the whole job lot should have been closed down. A new club should have ben formed from the ashes and run properly. Too much emphasis was put on maintaining a former life. Where do they go from now ? Who knows but a financial solution is not likely.

Great Britain Team
In the summer it is good for fans to see competitive football So I think a Great Britain team in the Olympics is a fantastic idea Scotland N Ireland and Wales are not happy with England planning to enter a GB side Now they see this as a threat to their individual identity as independent footballing nations I think this is utter claptrap Many of the teams from fencing to Swimming, to Boxing etc all have their own individual controlling bodies, and they are proud to see competitors from their own areas competing . We have had combined rugby teams for years now known as the "British Lions", and I see no people in that sport complaining. The thing is the English Premier league is dominated by foreign players, So this sort of competition allows British players a chance , especially the younger ones to compete in a world competition. There are age restrictions , I understand it is basically an Under 23 tournament, with a couple of older players allowed as make weights. I am sure that a sensible coach will pick a balanced squad from the four countries of younger players who we can all get behind The team will have to qualify first. That may not be easy , as the other nations in Europe like Germany , Italy, France, and Spain amongst others all have powerful squads. I think it will be good fun taking part and the 4 nations will enjoy working together for once. I think back to my younger days when the tournament was amateur , I seem to remember and I might be wrong, but the Queens Park club used to provide a lot of the players. No talk then of losing identity. Also I must point out that 3 of the 4 nations theses days continually fail to qualify for the two big tournaments, because of the lack of good players. Wales may be the exception. Joining a great Britain team will give experience to younger players and give fans across the British Isles something to cheer for Lets go for it.

Katy Perry and the NFL
Hi Glad you are looking forward to the Super Bowl Marshawn Lynch refused to speak to the media and has been fined over $10,000 a couple of times. Now he does interviews and says " No Comment" or such like. At the Super Bowl he broke his silence by saying why he does not do interviews. "Basically I go back to my family that's all I care about". If you do fantasy American football Marshawn is a must for your team. I think the Sky is a bit nearer than in Chorley , about a 1000 feet or so. However I am in Boat about 10 miles down the road and a bit lower down I like the ya olde git . The lanky version yer howd bugger but still a good effort . Lancastrians often pot the "h" in places they don't belong and miss them where they do. For example in a football score they would announce Hoswestry 5 Orwich 0 I am a bit of a Seattle fan myself having had a few sleepless nights there. Seattle is where the water closet was invented by a man called crapper I'm told . It is also the origin of the term "skid row ", as all the poor people lived at the bottom of the hill and the rich people at the top, through their slops in the street which run with the rain and the mud downwards, Causing the underprivileged to skid around.on the sloppy road.

Maybe so but unless we double their salaries we will not keep them .The money is the motivator -particularly where we have been over the last 3 years as we are a successful top 6 club To pay them what they are being offered we need an extra 2/3000 coming through the gate at home games Much as we enjoy where we are at present keeping our top players isn't going to happen in the near future and at least we keep them for 2 or 3 seasons now instead of the 1 year contracts we used to have Rocky I take your point But the playing field is not level, when we are up against a club which was living on borrowing to a massive amount now living basically on unearned income due to a bail out by a local benefactor. They were taking our players before the local firms cash injection. Where is the morality in that?

I know We have one Laurence, he is already playing left back.

Reading this post you would think we were talking about Ronaldo Yes he is a half decent player in this league but I fancy there are similar players just waiting to be found around the Scottish clubs and the lower leagues in England. I think we should stop crying in our beer and go out and find another fullback. One hopefully who knows how to overlap. A trait I have not noticed in GS.

Surely the question of the captaincy ( until Foran comes back I suppose ) is fairly and squarely down to the manager. I think as supporters we should not pressure Hughes but let him make the choice of captain as he feels is best. At the end of the day it is his job. For someone who has been around as long as me, I have to admit I am not sure exactly what a captain in a football team actually does. For Instance In cricket he controls everything a team does. Is a captain just a status symbol; with the running of the team on the pitch predetermined by the coaches? I remember years ago a major row erupted at a top club because a captain told his team to park the bus and defend in opposition to his coaches orders. They talk about leaders on the pitch , experienced older players will often sort out problems on the pitch.

What do we do? Nick someone from Ross County or Elgin, do we compound the process?

Disgusting ICT 'fan' behaviour at Hamilton
Sometimes swearing can be very funny Like singing " what the ****in hell was that", when a shot sails into row z or can you here the ( team) sing we cant here a etc So I don't think swearing can be banned, But if it gets out of hand it will stop parents bringing their kids to the games.

This is a sign of the times, a major football club taking players from a well run neighbour. When one considers that Aberdeen was carryings a large debt fuelled by overspending, it is ironic that they succeed and the poorer neighbour with sound economic budgeting procedures losses players because of finance . Below is a link that itemises how Aberdeen is in a position to attract the likes of Hayes Rooney and now Shinnie, players who in the terms of the mining industry will sell their souls for a bucket of coal Coming out ot the ground after the Aberdeen match , walking towards the roundabout I was surrounded with gloating Aberdeen fans boasting about their victory in a loud boisterous way. I cracked and in a louder voice shouted "anybody can win matches playing with other peoples money".. I suppose my great age saved me, and the crowd went very quiet. They knew that I was right. My sister in law who was with me said be quiet Laurence they are a lot younger than you. But after 30 years in the fire service I am used to danger. This was nothing to some of the blazing buildings I have been in. http://www.footballeconomy.com/content/aberdeen-clear-debts

Calling The Residents Of Inverness
To be realistic the reason for what is perceived to be poor attendance is difficult if not impossible to quantify From where I am sitting for a start people have to be interested in football wild horses won't get them to a game if they are not. Most people are not. Those that are are quite happy to watch it it on TV It may be the cost is a factor then this can be tested by having a cheap week, but I don't think it would make a lot of difference. People work all week and Saturday afternoons are a premium, family life comes before sport these days, most ladies do not want their husbands to disappear every Saturday afternoon. The stadium is adequate, the facilities are adequate, but are not good. The catering facilities are a pest, People getting up and down throughout the game , blocking the view , and if you watch some of the fans they seem more interested in food and drink than the game. Lack of atmosphere at the ground is also a factor. Cat calling the Ref. seems to be the order of the day, but it is very boring and not funny after twenty minutes of it. When I watched Bury or Wimbledon in my former lives, the singing never stopped. At Inverness it seldom starts. I am in my seventies and I will join in if others start it. How about keeping it simple with " Oh Caley we do -Oh Caley we love you" - " or walking in a Watkins/Christy wonderland", There is nothing like singing to get the fans involved. Shouting at the Ref is so boring. Kingsmill shouted me down when I mentioned a scoreboard, but one of the usage of a scoreboard, is to to put up a message " crowd noise". They do it all the time in the NFL and it works. The location of the ground may be a factor, die hard fans don't care , but new fans might. Some thing could be done about traffic control, I don't know what, but to take your care to the ground is no joke. having to drive right round town to get to the A9 is no fun at all. I am a football aolic fan so I put up with all the above but most people of a good age like me won't.

The Biggest Derby for years in the FA Cup
In a way Bradford City would have been several bridges to far for Chorley Chorley when I was around 47 years of age, entertained Bury on their own pitch. ( Should have been moved to Preston). Anyway at the time I was lecturing at the Fire Service College at Euxron Chorley. I was unable to get a ticket for the match. Did eventually using my Fire Brigade connections get one for the Chorley end. I had enough sense to go there incognito and not cheer. As I approached the ground a burly policeman checked my ticket and searched me. That was my first experience of a situation which is now common in football. I remember the game not because Bury lost to a team 4 Divisions below them, but because it was my first experience of disgusting racist behaviour. In fairness to the Chorley fans, these guys where from Preston. The Bury side had 3 black players. The most notable was ex Man City great centre Forward Tony Cunningham. Who was drafted in at the last minute to play Centre half. The normal centre back was injured in the warm up. Throughout the game these fans standing just to the side of me, had on arm raised high in a Nazi salute chanting " shoot the Nigger", Ronnie Mauge also came in for a lot of stick because his marriage had broken up recently. I mentioned it to a policeman at half time that this behaviour was not nice, he was a young lad and he wasn't prepared to take them on, using the sticks and stones adage as his defence, I will never forget that game as long as I live.

The Biggest Derby for years in the FA Cup
Not any more Laurence !! The main attraction is a pub crawl down Station Road - 23 watering places in total in my heyday although probably a lot less nowadays. I was talking about the beer Are the Lancashire County repair depot's for Fire Engines still located there. Oft is the times I was sent there to drive the machines back to their own stations after repair Paddy Kenny the Bury goalkeeper later QPR and Leeds had his start I think at Bamber Bridge

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone
Although I have my season ticket I had to miss the match as I was taking part in the Inverness Contract Bridge tournament. I was frantically asking if anyone knew the score. Nobody knew anything; and the cards rook preference. Anyway on reaching home at midnight I read the reports and I was over the moon at the result. My attempts at bridge success fell on much stony ground but I have a chance today for improvement Congratulations to the team must add
