  1. Surely any doubt that the motive is sectarian is removed by the fact that the "bombers" come from that haven of equality and tolerance that is Kilwinning? Home to Lodge 0 of both the Orange Lodge and the Freemasons, home to the junior team that is Kilwinning Rangers and home, every second Saturday unless it's raining, to a wee orange parade along the High St! It could all, of course, be coincidence Monsieur Poirot !! I understand it and so do you. You would not be making prejudgements about the people of Killwinning now would you? Tarring them all with the same brush? Showing exactly the traits of a bigot in denial, do you hate proddies that much? or do you just believe all the sensationalised stories you read in the gutter press?
  2. Scotty, a good shout with Paul Ritchie. I remember being at an away game in Perth which wasn't going too well and Paul came on as a sub and got dogs abuse from our fans on his first touch. He had many critics in regard to his work rate but as far as I'm concerned his goal scoring record speaks volumes and his contribution should not be underestimated. As for other under-rated players, how about Daisy Ross - he never got the credit he deserved. Daisy Ross, always looked so awkward running but ICT tinted glasses remember him getting the job done and setting something up, loved watching Daisy play.
  3. "Tolerance" is an interesting one CD and viewed by many, myself included, as a major contributor to the problem. For too long society has been tolerant of people who pop in for a "Chinky" or grab some fags from the "Pakis". Excuses are made for these terms, and many others, even justification. They are unacceptable and should not be tolerated but are by many who when challenged respond seek logical explanation in the same way you are doing in this discussion.. On this occasion I think your views are intolerable. A man of your intelligence should and does no better. Decent people searching for reason is viewed as reason by the lynch mob. There is no room for opinion on this issue. It's simple. PS. Apologise about the Hearts bit. You are right and I was getting you mixed up with The Knowledge. Hypocrisy alert, it is not very tolerant to tell someone that they are not allowed an opinion. To label someone a bigot because they do not like a man, after they have given non sectarian reasons for this dislike, is as narrow minded as any bigot out there. I was trying to make that point with the Morrissey link, just because you like Morrissey does not mean that you are in total agreement with his views on immigration or that you, like Morrissey, believe that the Chinese are a "sub-species" there are many reasons for forming an opinion of someone, dislike does not always boil down to bigotry. Also, your views on the Taleban seem very intolerant. Given the fact that the Taleban are acting under religious beliefs, does that make your views sectarian?
  4. I can't see how Russel Duncan can be described as "under rated" given his time at the club and the amount of matches he played, I would say that he was very much rated otherwise he would have been gone long before now.
  5. Paul Bradshaw was a very capable player who let his personal life ruin his career.
  6. Excellent post, it is a shame your sentiments end up being wasted after you are seen to admit to hero worshipping the blatent racist that is Morrissey in another thread, even going as far as to state that you covet a piece of his clothing stolen in the 1980's. Pots and kettles spring to mind.
  7. So these will be there because their goals against the OF then? Quite possibly but Hayes' goal would grace most season highlight montages no matter who the opposition were.
  8. Yes he's an absolute angel :baby: Came across this with a quick google search. I would think that Lennon being caught spitting on a Rangers scarf and calling their fans DOB'sin an OF game shows Lennons true colours to be that of a sectarian and bigoted man. Quite why anyone would choose to have such a bigot manage their team can only speak volumes about the mindset of the people appointing him. Lennon is hardly an inspiration to impressionable kids who support Celtic and look up to him. He's a bigot, he's a coward of a man who threatens girlfriends with violence and threats when she is carrying his own child, his business associates are caught in up in an IRA money laundering operation, not exactly the type of person who gains respect in a society of decent people http://boards.footym...4163&vid=144629 Can I ,once again, state that their is nothing in Neil Lennon's character or behaviour that makes him likeable to me (or many others) in any way. Examples given are totally and utterly unacceptable, should be treated as such and have been dealt with by the relevant authorities at the time . From what you are saying, because he portrays unacceptable behaviour, you view his treatment as acceptable? Or put another way, it serves him right! Very sad. Norman Tebbit would be proud of you. Assume you also believe that shop lifters should have their hands chopped off, women having sex outside marriage should be stoned to death and homosexuals are a plague on society? The Highland Taleban is alive and well and using CTO as a means of communication............... You are of course totally correct, the treatment which Neil Lennon has recieved is unacceptable, he did/does not deserve it, no human being does. Cosider for a moment, however, Lennon's agenda. He is of an age where he knows all too well the tensions which plagued the Irish island, he was brought up as a catholic in Ulster, he is very much aware of how many supporters from both sides of the religious divide cross the Irish sea every week to follow one side or the other of the old firm. Tensions have been felt on that island for generations, those do not totally vanish because the majority of people there have moved towards peace, just look at the recent bomb threats in London, the pizza delivery killings etc. There is still a hardcore, minimal in numbers but still present, on both sides which are following their causes. Neil Lennon may, as a football manager, not deserve any of the treatment he has recieved but, with his knowledge of the political situation, did he provoke it? There is a minority of idiots who are willing to go to unacceptable legnths to keep the fight going, is Neil Lennon one of that minority?
  9. Pointless more than one person nominating him, his name will only go into the draw once regardless of how many nominations he recieves.
  10. I heard that his first signing will be to snap up the current free agent, Rossco the Staggy, the dream team shall be reunited.

  12. I hear that the Queen has requested that her Dublin itinerary is changed so that she can go around to Rooney's family gaff and put in a special request tomorrow.
  13. Very good points, I never really rated Niculae but I will concede that his inclusion in the European championships raised the status of ICT and perhaps did us a few favours as far as attracting talent who would not normally have considered us as an option. I can't really agree on the point about assists and pulling off other defenders as I never really saw any of that but we all read the game differently and look at different things during the match, he may well have performed in the way you have indicated but in my opinion he was/is the most over rated player to pull on an ICT shirt, in general. Barrowman, I feel, was only ever rated by those involved in signing him for the club. Everyone else saw him for what he really was, a stand out striker playing full time against part time players, a mediochre striker in the second tier of the Scottish leagues and well out of his depth at SPL level.
  14. True but the question was about over rated players, in that case when you consider the hype on signing him (think online petitions etc) and the reputation he came here with (once reputed to be valued in excess of ?1M) then Marius was by far the most over rated player at ICT and the very fact that at least one fan on this website is still singing his praises after returning only 8 SPL goals and two CIS cup goals against lower league opposition goes to show that some are still over rating him. Barreowman was indeed a huge mistake but as the first post in this thread says, never really rated far less over rated by the fans. Apart from the week after our first competitive win over the Sheep.
  15. The original question from Charles was with regard to Niculae/Rooney not Barrowman. Niculae (according to soccerbase) 33 starts 2 sub (35) 8 goals in SPL ratio=0.22866 Rooney fom your figures has a ratio of 0.3125 Dargo is 0.4576 from your figures Backing up my point that Marius was over rated. I'd like to see figures on goals/? spent on the player. That'll teach me to try and do stats when half asleep In regards goals/? we actually made money on the Marius deal (although not as much as we maybe should have) whereas Barrowman/Rooney/Dargo will all have cost the club money to have them here. We probably did make money from the deal but did I not read that Marius is chasing us for money? Signing on fee or a percentage of his transfer or something? It would be too deep to go into but I was thinking along the lines that Marius was costing us the club's highest wage ever and returned little by way of goals but Dargo and Rooney have scored more on smaller wages and signing on fees, Rooney costing us ?50 thousand transfer plus signing on fee would be a lot less than the reputed 100 thousand Marius is looking for. Too much to go into and only speculative figures make it more of a guessing game than fact.
  16. While he came with a big reputation, that may have worked against him. He may have done "very little when here", but he was still our top scorer in his only season with the club. And since leaving, he's played another ten or so games for Romania, scored 13 in his first season with Dinamo and is now their club captain. Seems he's done alright for himself! http://scoutingromania.com/2011/01/05/the-rise-and-fall-of-marius-niculae/

  18. Has he signed for Hearts or not? Are you on the wind up?
  19. "What a shi*ty home support" from the guys in the North Stand trying to gee up our own fans, funny and apt.
  20. Niculae, gave us what 10 or 11 goals? Got a call up for Romania and all of a sudden he was the best striker ever? Dargo, Wyness, Ritchie, Hislop, Rooney all better scorers. Not to ention Stewart, Marius by far was the most over rated, he has done hee haw since leaving, did very little when here.
  21. Sad day for the players and their families but they are leaving as club heroes and not staying on until they are longer capable of doing a job for the team, they will always be remembered in a good light by our fans. Good luck to you all.
  22. Why is Neil Lennon not Irish? http://www.wesleyjohnston.com/users/ireland/today/good_friday/synopsis.html
  23. I can see the Jags making it 3 for 1 by winning 3 to 1 today.
  24. I don't think that the use of a crucifix in the picture is of the best taste and could be seen as slightly bigoted towards christianity in general, otherwise a fairly decent jape.
  25. Good luck to Russell in the future, a great servant to the club. I am sure Terry Butcher knows what he is doing, we have no idea of what plans he has to replace Russell but his judgement has proved to be good in the past.
