The world cup!
Agreed and it is showing that the style of football you play doesn't really count that much, it is all about commitment and taking any chances you get to score. AAAAAmmmmm luvin it !!!

France definitely contenders too, providing they have a team left after that horrendous tackling by the Hondos. Europe's chances high, Netherlands, Italy, France and I won't write of Spain just yet, all in with a big shout.

Renegade in reply to your questions regarding your criticism of my post on this thread. first question and incorporating the second:- How are the people who wanted Butcher and more so Petrie out in my eyes not supporters? ......Firstly I gave no mention of Petrie but that is not the point ................. the answer to this is that those people who are always moaning and crying for blood (metaphorically speaking i.e. ) are glory seekers who demand success at all costs not like people who really want to get behind their teams and try to accept that it is the Board's job to decide on what action should be taken not the will of those who think they know best. True his record was abysmal and I can see where you are coming from but, again in my opinion, this sacking of managers in football leaves a lot to be desired and has done so for a very long time. He I believe certainly employed a catalogue of errors in his man management of the club and deserved disciplining for that but not sacking. May I now correct you regarding his record. .......... TB took ICT back to the premier division after relegation in one season, proof available and on his record. Ms Dempster's actions were rushed. It would have been much more prudent to have rebuked Terry for his misjudgements and then told him that he had so much time to prove he, with his own signings and rebuilt team were truly capable of getting back up and challenging for top spot. Failure would lead to dismissal. I know little of Ms Dempster's record but she comes across to me as naive and a bit of a control freak. Well there you have it, these are my opinions and you have yours isn't that what this forum is all about ?

I am with AlexJones on this one, to me this decision by Leann not going to help Hibs at a time when the most important thing is to get themselves back into the top division. Terry has now got his comeuppance for the manner in which he deserted us, that is pleasing but for me he did a very great deal for our club and through his staff brought in a nucleus of players who could well give us the most entertaining and successful season ever and for that I applaud him. Leann has rushed into this, swayed by the wrong element of so called fans and the power struggle within the boardroom, in doing so she has made a blueprint that could well come back to haunt her. She has fired a manager with a proven track record of revitalising a squad without giving him any chance of proving himself at what he is best at doing. I wouldn't care to be in her position should she fail to bring the Leith side back out of the mire in very quick time. 'Bye Terry you certainly got it all wrong that time....hope you learn from it!!!!

The world cup!
All I want to see is good exciting football with teams competing right from the outset and not settling for safe draws. If I have to make a choice I'll back the little urchin's team for the sake of the Auld Alliance or Spain. Not anti English by any means but hate their exaggerated hype when it comes to football, especially from their commentators, besides they are not at home, I don't think they are good enough and have had to qualify to get to the finals. Three good reasons for them not to win.

Bill starts for NI
It doesn't surprise me that he didn't accept our contract offer at this time, after all he is in a good window at the moment so why shouldn't he bide his time and see what's what on the world stage. I don't want to lose him though, he is quite unique in his work rate plus opportunism and does a great deal for ICT.

Butcher offski?
I expect he may just get a job with a good little team, wasn't that what he called Hamilton. He would be good as the boot boy. I expect he is writing to Celtic tonight when he gets home.

Look at it this way Gordieict, they didn't have the best of starts last season and we were holding our own until Terry butchered us by slinging his turncoat on to an Easter Road peg. These things happen in football, no matter how good the squad or how big the manager is -------change can do strange things. This time last year I was thinking Celtic don't look too happy going into the new season and I predicted in a thread that Celtic would not win the league that season. How wrong I was they ran away with it, ------------- but it took them a long time and a lot of money to buy the title again. If they have a similar start this coming season I don't think the current top six clubs will roll over and let themselves be overawed again. No I think Celts will be given a harder fight and if what Lennon says is true about not being allowed a big enough budget to tackle the Euro boys, and with the other half of the filth expected back season 15/16, money will be wanted for then, there will be less inclination to spend this season so their talented divas will be more inclined to take things a little easier knowing their places are not threatened as much as before. Opportunity could be there for the taking and that is what managers will be drumming into their players. Nothing is certain in football, perhaps odds are stacked against me being right but being forever the optimist I stress that there is a chance that I might be right regardless of the new manager's ability and direction.

To my thinking this is going to make a very interesting SPFL 2014/15 season. Whoever takes charge, albeit some big name, there is bound to be an unsettled pattern of play until an established team is fielded and I can see that if the fixture list isn't 'fixed' in their favour it will take Celtic longer to top the league than it did last season. The current top six will also be spurred on by this opportunity as there is only a very small margin of difference between their capabilities. Until Celtic reach the top, which could be prevented this time, all six teams are in with a strong shout of breaking the Glasgow stranglehold that has for years spoiled the competitiveness within the league. Equally so with the bottom six who will know what is in store for them if they are in the play off positions come the end of the season. If anything my belief is that ICT with our established squad coupled with an improved non hoof style of play will give us an edge over the others, which hopefully will be, with good results coming in, the trigger to bring out bigger crowds to witness our successes. All in all I am looking forward more and more to the start of the season which has the potential to be the most exciting season for a long long time and especially for ICT.
