  6. Every day is an away game for me. However, every day I wake up and I thank god that I am a Highlander. I am outnumbered by the the old firm followers down here. That condescending, imperialistic tone hangs over them (and consequently me) like a fart... a sh1t that won't flush. I really really really want to get it right round them all on Monday morning. Regards, I'll be home for Christmas
  7. Aye and then cool off with an ice cold pint at the bargain price of ?5.... read on... Booze: Reykjavik's nightlife is well documented but you'd be forgiven to think it is a bit of a ghost town early doors. Most revellers seem to avoid some of the high alcohol prices by drinking at home and not venturing out until 11pm! The prices of all products are expensive in Iceland due to the need to import most of them. Expect to pay nearly a fiver for a pint of beer, and spirits fare no better. Despite the high cost of going out, Reykjavik's nightlife seems to resemble a gathering of supermodels as beautiful people in stylish clothes knock back plenty of booze whatever the price! The bars stay open into the early hours, sometimes past 5am at the weekend, and in good weather many folk gather outside after closing time, and continue to party in the streets. Those wanting a cheaper pint can sample Nelly's Cafe where beer currently costs 290 Krona (?2.60) where most ask nearer 500 Krona a pint. Just over the road is the Sport Kaffi where Icelandic TV's coverage of English Premiership games are shown live on Saturday afternoon (complete with Stoke City score updates!), and is also the place where many Stoke games are watched by Icelandic fans. A signed Stoke City football sits on the top of the bar. Other places worth a visit are Kaffi Thomsen, Gaukur ? St?ng (especially for live music), and Glaumbar (for music). The Reykjavik website has many more listings for bars and clubs. Source http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~djandyp/s...nd/icevisit.htm

  11. Folks, I fear we're in big trouble come next season. If it wasn't for Gretna I'd be worried about this year, they're our get out of jail card. Just been reading another couple of threads on Hart, Black, Caff, Rankin and Parky leaving. One of the main reasons we've done as well as we have in the SPL in the last 3 years is because of the lack of changes to the squad. I know we've had to change managers far too often but the squad never changed much up until this year. Dods was never replaced even though we knew he was leaving for a very long time, Barry is getting on a bit now and now its reported that 2 excellent players who could take his place are maybe leaving! There are far too many changes going on right now for the club to remain on an even keel. Brewster is an inexperienced manager and I don't know if he can handle all this change and still keep us in the SPL next year. I hope he can prove me wrong.
  12. I stuck up for Mikey today cos I thought one of his wayward kicks was caught by the wind cos it was high up but I was forced to retract my statement when he kept feckin booting the ball out of play! I've not been up the road much this year but i'm told he does it all the time. Need extra coaching son. Didn't like the "you're sh1t" chant directed at him. That sucked and was about us funny as those chaps trying to boot the ball through the naff thing into the goal at half time. That was THE sh1ttest half time entertainment I've EVER seen. ps. Whoever got the V's directed at you, you feckin deserved it. Dry your eyes and give us peace.
  13. I watched it in McHuills on the High Street in Glasgow. Its a right Celtic shop so I wiped my feet on my way out. Friendly patrons though, 2 mins in the door I was offered "a wee charge of this pal" as some shifty wee guy produced a half bottle of buckfast from his pocket. I politely declined. The overstretched doorman was blissfully unaware that the fire exit on the other side of the building had been opened and folk were bringing in their own carryouts and stashing them under the pool table :015: Me and Toolan Random couldn't get the blue off Mark Jamie and Sammy Random guy sound asleep at 8pm
  14. Hansen........... They gotwhat they deserved :021:

  16. The pitch is like Peter Tobin's garden
  17. Indeed. Kids these days don't know they're living! The difference between us and the big teams' fans is we know how to win and lose graciously, sometimes spectacularly. Its all part of life aboard HMS Sneck. Never stop believing, young padawans!

    Pies

Our pies are average at best. If we are to win the league this year our pies need to be at least as good as Killie pies.
  19. I think we'll be ok this year, its next year I'm worried about.
  20. Twas but a flesh wound!
  21. I'm not knocking your right to an opinion and I can see why you feel so strongly because I pay my money too, I just think that your criticism of him was a bit over the top. I think its very easy for people to commentate on the actions of players who are after all, still human beings. Its easy to sit at home in front of the computer and have a rational opinion on something when your not pumped up with adrenalin. If Tokely is reading this now, he'll no doubt hold his hands up to the fact that he messed up. Brewster did not say he was an embarrassment, nor did he suggest he was intellectually challenged, however he did say he was a disgrace. That's criticism enough without getting any more personal. I have to disagree with you when you say Tokely wouldn't be missed at the back. We've not been able to replace Dods so what makes you think that we'll get 2 decent players to fill these roles in the transfer window?
  22. There's a world of difference between playing hard within the rules and outside the rules. Yesterday he was downright stupid and well outside the rules. You missed the bit where I said "Granted, he shouldn't have got himself sent off" ;)
  23. Agent N, You just described one of our players as a thuggish, cowardly, braindead and sneaky, so-called hardman idiot. That's not on. You don't know Tokely and you don't know the half of what goes on between players on and off the pitch. If Tokely decides that playing hard is the way to go, with over 300 appearances in our jersey under his belt, then I'll trust him to make that decision. Granted, he shouldn't have got himself sent off but I think your criticism should be focused on the management, rather than getting on Tokely's back. Like you said, one man didn't lose that game yesterday. Dry your eyes mate and consider the number of times Tokely has saved us with crucial tackles, goal-line clearances and goals.
  24. Through Fraser's legs. P1sh. I'm away. Catch ye's.
