This town does my nut sometimes...
TheresNoEsInBlack replied to TheresNoEsInBlack's topic in Caley Thistle
CaleyD, Ok I can understand why a shop might only do it for shirts they stock. The club definitely aren't doing it now because I asked when I bought the shirt and was directed to the shop in the market. jaggedthistle, An assistant in Debenhams told me the woman who does it (who was on a 2 hour lunch break - 2 hours FFS - I'm getting a job in Debenhams) only had yellow Celtic numbers. Very annoying that the Old Firm have such a strangle hold on merchandise all over Scotland. Its one of the things that is wrong with Scottish football and ICT should be making an effort to win people over in Inverness. There is money to be made, get on with it!!! -
I'm up from Glasgow for the weekend and today (for the game and to visit my folks) and I bought the new jersey from the club. My pals got it for me for my 30th and want me to get my name and 30 put on it. The club don't do the numbers and lettering, which is pretty shocking really for an SPL club. Since I'm away back down the road tonight I thought I'd make an effort and go down to the shop in the market that does it, only to find a sign in the window saying the shop won't be open till Thursday! Anyway, I phoned the club and asked if they knew anywhere else that does it and they suggested I could try Debenhams. So I went in to Debenhams and they said they could do it for CELTIC shirts. WHAT THE F*CK??? CELTIC FOR F*CK SAKE. Correct me if I am wrong but is this not Inverness we're in? Is the local team not Caley Thistle? Whether they sell Caley Thistle shirts or not they should have be able to do the lettering on ICT shirts also as its not like they wouldn't make a profit. I guess the point I'm trying to make is our club should be providing this service. If Celtic, with hundreds of thousands of fans in Glasgow alone can find time to do it with players called "Vennegoor Of Hesselink" then ICT should be doing it too. Regards, I'm Really F*cked Off With How Backward My Home Town Is ps. I just read my own signature... Excuse my bad language, I'm calm again. The Old Firm annoy me.

Whaaaat?!?! Losing faith? That's not the Caley Thistle I know. DO YOU BELIEVE??

"The boys set out their stall well".... Its a football match not an episode of Eastenders! "SPORT SOCKS, SPORT SOCKS, HERE YER SPORT SOCKS, 2 FER A POUND!!"

Barcelona were talking about setting up a summer training camp in Scotland and staying at St Andrews again next year. I wouldn't mind a game against them. I think Barca made a lot of money out of playing United and Hearts but hopefully the size of our fan base wouldn't rule us out of a game with them.

Wasnt the cost of the top ?100 - if so, it amounts to the same thing although if someone were to purchase lots of stuff in the shop and it came to over ?100 then they would be getting a better deal with 10% off. It seems I've passed comment on something I know nothing about. I thought the cost of the top was less and my 10% discount would only have applied to the top. Mantis, you are correct. Congratulations.

It may sound a bit perverse but I'm glad we got beat by Motherwell if it means we can lose any complacency because of it. Getting beat by Rangers was always likely but I think the 'Well game may be the wake-up call we need. I reckon we'll bounce back very well from this one because all the players have a point to prove now.
-
I must admit if I was the boss I'd have given 10% off the top rather than a ?10 voucher. Fans are going to wait for the top anyway. It might encourage people to buy something extra in the shop though.

Good luck in your fight against drugs but gonnae put a sock in it now and leave the boy alone? Everyone makes mistakes.

The "Castle" suggestion is supergay i'm afraid.

I was impressed by the way Rangers played on Sat. I was sitting low down so could hear them helping each other. They always knew where each other were and I didn't see them put many passes astray. They were all over us like a cheap suit. Had to laugh at the undercover Rangers fan sitting beside me in the main stand. At first I wasn't sure what he was all about. My suspicions were aroused when he called Blackie by the wrong name, then clapped and stopped when Ferguson's first goal hit the post and went in. I wasn't sure if he was happy he thought it had missed. Then my suspicions were confirmed when he asked me where the pie stall was. I don't mind if they've paid their money so long as they keep quiet when they score! Right, well I live in Glasgow so I'm away to take some more abuse on the chin from these currant buns in my office :008: Its ok though because they're all ugly and poverty stricken and have a lower life expectancy than us. :001: Players: The game doesn't end at 4:47 on a Saturday, it continues through the week when you're a Glasgow based ICT fan. Get the finger out next time!

Well I hope Rory doesn't or else his head will go right down after reading this. Rather than saying "just get rid of him", give him the chance to go out on loan. He's obviously got something, we just haven't seen it yet. And by the way, he can head the ball... he scored with his head against Motherwell last season. Barry has only scored once with his head his whole career (I might be wrong about that though).

I think its worth noting the quality of Ranger's preseason friendly opponents as opposed to ours. Ajax, Chelsea etc. How can we hope to get an edge on them when we've just been playing Perterhead and Elgin City?? We should be playing against better teams than ourselves.

Sol Bamba wants away from Dunfermline
TheresNoEsInBlack replied to TheresNoEsInBlack's topic in General Football
Want doesn't always get. He's got no offers which is why I suggested him. He's only after a higher level than he'll be at next season. -
I was reading in the Metro there that Sol Bamba wants away from Dunfermline to play at a higher level so that he's got more chance of getting picked for Ivory Coast. What do folks think about having him as the defender we're looking for?
-
Good point. So what you're saying is if Niculae signs for one of the OF and scores against everyone else then that could benefit ICT in future seasons. No, what I'm saying is it won't make any difference to us at all.
-
Thats right TinCan but if he's good and ends up signing for one of the old firm eventually, its not just us he'll score against, it'll be everyone! So we won't be at any more of a disadvantage than any other team.

Think before you post, that's a bit of a silly argument :004:

Its pronounced Nic-ool-aye. Same pronuciation as Niculae Caucescu, the executed Romanian dictator - I mind his name on the news when I was a kid. What rhymes with his name. Need some songs made up...

Anywhere you'd WANT to live in Glasgow is more expensive than Inverness for the same type of dwelling. You shouldn't believe stats without getting the full story because 63.2% of all stats are made up on the spot anyway.
