Dennis Wyness
I for one will be absolutely disgusted if we lose Dennis because of the bloody-mindedness of one or two individuals. As Caley Stan says, Dennis is a legend. This decision makes no footballing sense, just as the club's treatment of Barry Wilson made no sense. It's also a downright dishonourable way of dealing with someone.

We Need A New Manager For Next Season
He's not the only problem, but he is unfortunately a big part of the problem. Several personnel changes are needed IMHO, including, but not limited to the management/coaching staff.

Another week Still no Contracts
Good point, Alex. When I first heard what had happened to Dennis I did wonder whether he had grounds for some kind of legal action. What I do know is that NOBODY deserves to be treated in this way by their employers, and especially not someone who's been so loyal and has made himself a legend with his goalscoring record.

Dennis Wyness
If Dennis is old at 31, then that must make Brewster a real Methuselah. 31 is really not that old, and a player in his early 30s can, provided he looks after himself, carry on for some years. There's plenty of life left in Dennis yet.

Another week Still no Contracts
And neither will half the support, by the looks of it. And if so, the powers that be will only have themselves to blame.

Another week Still no Contracts
If all this is true then I'm shocked and disgusted. What kind of way is this to treat a loyal employee who actively wants to play for us? At this rate we're well and truly going to **** in a handcart.

That's what we would all like to know... :(

Feck it - lets be serious
Even if the club is in profit it doesn't give them license to treat the fans -the paying customers- so dismissively.

Feck it - lets be serious
Yes, in some ways this is what seems to be happening, but the sad thing is that there's absolutely no need to treat the fans so dismissively. It's especially sad because our club didn't use to be like this, and also worrying because they could well end up shooting themselves in the foot because of it.

Feck it - lets be serious
Definitely agree, and my mum, who's at every home game and has been a season ticket holder for about five years also feels the same. What we've noticed is that the "family" spirit that took us into this league has evaporated. When we were in the lower divisions and when we first got into the SPL there was a definite feeling of community, of "us against the world", and the club seemed to be much more concerned with the opinions and welfare of the fans than it is now. And I think that's really sad.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there, GJ.

We Need A New Manager For Next Season
On the contrary, perhaps it's time Brewster's cheerleaders had a bit of a reality check. How many more dire performances do there have to be before certain people realise that he's not the manager they think he is?

Hospitality Today
I agree, quizzer. I really don't see why normal fans should have their afternoons spoilt by this sort of behaviour. I also fail to see the point of going to a match at all if all you do is get completely legless in hospitality and end up incapable of actually taking in what's going on around you. It kind of defeats the purpose of actually going to watch football.

Relegation a reality?
Well said Charles! :clapping03:

Relegation a reality?
Right from the beginning I've felt very strongly that this is no way to run a football club, especially in the current financial climate, and what's happening to Gretna now proves it.

Lets be serious !!
I certainly hope so, beachcomber!

Lets be serious !!
I'm with you, Johndo. It's good to be in the SPL and it's been satisfying to prove a lot of people wrong, not least Graeme "I'll eat my hat" Spiers. However, I do miss the excitement of the cup, taking on bigger teams and causing cup shocks, and getting those memorable days out at Hampden. Wish there was some way we could bring that feeling back again.

Interesting New Employee......
Had he not been given the standard Romanov knife in the back treatment at Hearts he might have been fairly successful with them. However, I guess we'll never know now.
-
What went wrong..?
If that's the case, then we really have to be asking serious questions about whether he's up to the job.

Black at it again
I'd much rather have this than have someone out there who obviously doesn't give a tinker's cuss what happens.

Media Coverage of ICT
You dont read the Highland Snooze then? Not for some years, GJ. I gave it up when I realised I could feel my brain cells committing suicide every time I opened a copy... ;)

Brewster's team selections
That's a very good point, GJ. I agree with every word that you've said in your post and feel quite strongly that some of the things people have said about CC have been completely uncalled-for. He's made an enormous contribution to the club ever since it was formed, starting long before he ever became a manager and has been rewarded with a great deal of ingratitude from some quarters. He most certainly was not a "nightmare".

Media Coverage of ICT
Obviously papers can't publish a story based purely on rumours, but I believe a little more in-depth reporting certainly wouldn't hurt. All clubs need to be asked difficult questions from time to time: if nothing else it stops them getting complacent.
