    Players

Yes I saw it. Here it is. Sounds like footballers thinking they're all that ... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/watch-raith-boss-john-hughes-10328286
  2. Either that or they become our feeder club
  3. Smaller first team squad supplemented by development players has to be the way forward. Charlie Christie on BBC said we had a first team squad of 26 and Pele operated with one of 18. That additional payroll must come to a tidy sum. Sadly the development squad is another area where County seem to be streets ahead of us.
  4. On the Fans ownership thread elsewhere I posted about the club's annual accounts. In that post It's clear that they are easy to find/download. We've accumulated well over £3m of losses since 1994 and the people who have invested almost £4m in shares are unlikely to see any of their £ again, not because they don't want the money back but because the vast majority of the money has gone over the years in keeping the club alive. It relies on windfalls like Christie. I'm not an insider, I'm just reading the publicly available accounts. Given we made a £1m loss in the year following the last relegation, we could be staring down the barrel of an insolvency event (and all that that entails) in the next one/two years unless the board are ruthless with spend or we get a significant benefactor ... and that's even if we keep fans / ST-holders coming along. Goodness knows it's hard viewing just now but, plain and straight, I truly believe that our decisions as supporters over the next few months will come down to whether we want to see our club die or not.
  5. Pulling the threads together here, if we have another financial year in the Championship like last time (£900k loss), then our balance sheet asset surplus could well be gone and we could be "balance sheet insolvent" before the first season is out. Apart from the fact that shares could then be worth nothing technically, Richie might not need the whole 4 years to bring us to the bottom of Scottish football's pyramid.
  6. Follow the link quoted and you can see the accounts for the period covering our last visit to the Championship (accounting year to 31 May 2010) ... That year's published actually did show a profit & loss account ... A stonking loss of over £900k for one year alone. Dark days ahead I fear, hope we've got people at the helm capable of steering us through ...
  7. I agree with much of what you say in terms of likely burdens and responsibilities for fan ownership. However, although there are more than 3 million £1 shares in issue, the balance sheet value of them is effectively less than £600k at the last balance sheet date (31 May 2016) because of accumulated losses of over £3m. I.e. if you added all the profits or losses together from the birth of the legal entity in February 1994 then it is a total loss to the tune of well over £3.4m. These latest accounts to 31 May last year are available for anyone to see at https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/SC149117/filing-history The club is a small company that doesn't need to publicly file a detailed profit and loss account. However the informed reader of even abbreviated versions can readily see that those who invested in these shares did it as a labour of love given they are highly unlikely to ever see a full return. Charlie Christie spoke on the radio of a day of reckoning / dark days ahead iirc ... It is a minor miracle that we've come as far as we have. It seems that big one-off pay days like McKay, Christie, Scottish Cup merely help to keep us going a bit longer because the true, harsh reality is we run at a significant deficit year in, year out.
  8. Another weekend, another goal controversy involving Motherwell. This week they were denied a goal clearly over the line versus Dundee (denying them a draw and a point and giving Dundee a win and two extra precious points). Last week there was the phantom "goal" for Motherwell versus ICT. In the lottery of glaring referee gaffs, Motherwell were winners last week, losers this week. We were effectively the losers both weeks. OK goal line technology is maybe expensive to instal but rugby just uses TV replays. Why can't we? There are TV cameras at every Scottish top flight game and we already have trial by Sportscene. Limit the TV challenges/calls to 3 (or less) per game per team a bit like tennis so there's not too much game interruption.
  9. At this present moment, 12 months compensation feels absolutely like a price worth paying for the long term benefit of the club.
  10. I think there is a mis-quote here ... He said we have to live within our means. Here is a link to the actual BBC Sportsman's podcast recording with the approx timings of his and Barry Wilson's dialogue 4mins to 6mins 30 secs 11mins 30 secs to 15mins 19mins to 29mins http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p051g5zd
  11. You were binned for this post at the time ... seems like you were right on the button ... that negative like count needs reversed.

    Captain

RF explained post-match that we lost because we don't have warriors ... and yet he benched Draper and made Vigurs captain!!
  13. Words of wisdom from Charlie Christie and Barry Wilson at: 4mins - 6mins 30 secs 11.5mins - 15mins 19mins - 29mins http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p051g5zd
  14. I really don't understand this having to pay out the remainder of manager contracts. Would love to know the employment law position. In any other walk of life, complete ineptitude is not rewarded by paying off the said employee for x number of years while they sit back with pipe and slippers and someone new has to pick up the pieces.
  15. We need to introduce a feature where you can like a post more than once
  16. This is an absolute disgrace ... I am so angry ... and sad. When is enough enough Richie? Get lost right now!
  17. We are going down and completely deserve to.
  18. An experienced man who knows the set-up, the players, can advise/coach on defending ... and one who would presumably love to see Dundee go down!
  19. Yes I remember that goal too ... I suppose that was still the first half of the season (I should have said autumn lol) ... but his goals/games ratio hasn't been great although I do appreciate there'd been a few sub appearances.
  20. Let's not forget that (apart from a goal against Celtic) he couldn't hit a barn door in the first half of the season ... Although you could never fault his effort ... however, with wee Billy's loan period coming to an end, I'm glad that he's grabbing his new opportunity with both hands.
  21. If that is the case, then I have no sympathy for RF. The club, the fans and people's jobs are much bigger than one man's pride.
  22. Absolute howler from this angle by the way!!
  23. I really hope this isn't true and if it is concluded that he's not fit for purpose that he walks away without further (financial) damage to a club that cannot afford it. The club has suffered enough from mercenary managers.
  24. The Dundee situation goes to show once again that Inverness is the safest manager's job in football ... no amount of losses or shambolic performances is enough to require a change.
