Falkirk -V- Inverness CT
From a Falkirk fan on Pie and Bovril ... "That Mulrainey is as thick as two short planks. It was a miracle he got away with his challenge on longridge which was a shocker and stick on second yellow only for the ref to bottle it. To then basically give the ref no option was hilarious stuff. Poor refereeing again though as he should'e been off for the tackle on longridge."

Apparently he should have got a 2nd yellow for taking out Longridge before another bad tackle saw him get his 2nd yellow. His first yellow was only two minutes previously so it sounds like a completely headless couple of minutes for Mulraney. Hope the club seriously reprimand him for idiocy and letting his team-mates, club and fans down.

Alex Fisher being talked about by Lineker Shearer and Wright on BBC 1 tonight. He signed for Yeovil today and drove 9 hours from Motherwell to meet the manager in dressing room just 1 hour before kick-off. Now on bench for FA cup tie vs Man Utd.

Caley Jags 2017/18 squad + changes in/out
A Dutch press article on the internet referring to his trial with Go Ahead Eagles says that, because of Zschusschen's journeyman tendencies, he uses a moving van instead of car. Here's hoping he has need of it again this month.

Caley Jags 2017/18 squad + changes in/out
Well said. It can't be good for his playing prospects (for a club and for his beloved Wales) that he is completely starved of game time and invisible to the public eye. If you're a professional footballer with a limited shelf life, why on earth would you do that? If I was him, I'd be pulling out all the stops to get away pronto and make a fresh start.

So glad I made the round trip for the game. Fairly even before 1st goal. A goal for each of the 3 strikers and a cracking first goal for Jake. Ref decent in 1st half, less good in 2nd. A Falkirk fan on P & B says that the last two games against them show to him that we are the best side they've faced all season. (Last game was 0-0, he acknowledged it should have been 0-4). We just need a free-scoring striker. Maybe one of the three tonight is finally going to step up to the plate!

I wasn't at the game. Having now seen the highlights and re-run the Vigurs sending off incident umpteen times, freeze frame, slow-mo etc. I think I can say that: 1. Clearly it was accidental by Vigurs; but 2. By the time, he had positioned himself to attempt the kick overhead, the Livi player had nipped in front of him and so, "ideal world stuff", Vigurs should probably have attempted to pull out of the challenge before connecting. The ref doesn't have the benefit of endless video playback ... So, I can see how the yellow was given. As far as I understand, intent doesn't come into the decision unfortunately. However, brutal application of rules like this just ruins the game and regular ref. inconsistency in games breaks me. All in all, the sending off seems very unlucky on Vigurs' part ... although one might say that, when on a yellow, he should have been extra careful to stay on the right side. (In that regard, I'd like to know if his first yellow before that was for being stupid i.e. dissent or silly foul).

I know that decision-making in the final third was disappointing on numerous occasions today but singling out Polly as having a terrible game seems harsh to me. Today, he had his trademark runs again carrying the ball from midfield as attacks started (he is our most effective player in that role) and he had one or two decent efforts on goal. The disappointment for me was the misunderstanding between midfielders and forwards with some final balls but that is as much their fault as it is his.

Hope so. I thought it was a bit embarassing for the club that St Mirren (as the away team) posted up extended highlights of last weekend's game before we did. This on a regular basis would be a positive move although I appreciate it probably takes a great deal of effort. Anyway well done!

David Raven
I have often thought that but I understand from previous forum discussions that he is happy and settled in Aberdeen area mixing his football with a good steady job.

Not a surprise I suppose. Glad that an extension was offered to a cup hero who still does a good job but I completely understand that it needed to be reduced terms. I like the quotes from the club here. David was part of the cup winning team that will forever hold a fondness in ICT hearts but he was also part of the relegation team and shouldn't expect to escape the harsh, punishing financial realities that ensue as a result. Players have to look after their families, this is their job and many are paid handsomely for it ... they create memories but their stay is transient. It is the club and its fans that endure. Thanks for the memories David. We wish you well. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/1368327/caley-thistle-defender-raven-rejects-reduced-contract-extension/

I do like listening to Robbo. A straight-talking, down-to-earth guy who gives a honest, balanced account, taking most/all pertinent factors into account. As previous posters have said, the confidence-boosting win last night was partly down to Brechin's defensive shortcomings. However, I do now feel much more positive about the future on the pitch and am pleased to hear that consideration is being given to sensible squad changes (in's and out's) in January whilst not neglecting youth options either. P.S. This is not Robbo's account.

CLUB STATEMENT : AGM & Annual Report : 23/11/17
Based on below link, I'm not sure that the difference between finishing 7th and 12th is the whole reason for the extent of the loss. https://stv.tv/sport/football/1385575-this-is-how-much-your-team-will-make-in-post-split-money/ I suppose much also depends on when income gets booked/recognised in the accounts given we got relegated on 20th May 2017 and the current accounts being reported declare the financial results for the year from 1 June 2016 to 31 May 2017.
