  1. First time in a good while that I've left the ground with a warm glow, spring in step. Solid, assured performance.Robbo has found a set-up that works. Well done to him and all the lads! Just wish we'd been more clinical with 2nd half chances that would have taken a little pressure off the old ticker! Couldn't resist a little celebratory flurry in the club shop afterwards.
  2. Does anyone know where extended highlights may be found? I'd like to see the other good chances we allegedly had. Other championship clubs seem to have highlights of games that extend beyond merely the goals scored from various angles.
  3. That's the first set of round robin fixtures complete. Clearly we had more than enough chances today to win. How many times has that been said? Inverness - Livingston last month sounds emblematic of where we are ... we had much more possession, same number of shots on target but lose 3-1. They were organised and ruthless with chances presented. Livingston are 2nd tonight.
  4. Wished I'd gone now. Great to hear the young lad score. Came on in 89th minute, scored in 90th minute. Some goals to minutes ratio! Give him a start!
  5. I remember that first League game too. I don't think the current incumbents (or incompetents) could beat that new League entrant team of yesteryear so, for that reason, they we must currently boast the worst ICT team ever. If I recall correctly, Hercher got a hat-trick that day, the current team needs a road map to find the opposing box.
  6. Very glad to be extinguished, Stevemc1994 Yes I suppose that was an indirect aim of my raising the post ... to encourage a double-check that everything is in order with advertising board renewals.
  7. I only have hearsay ... but, fearing there's no smoke without fire, my opening post was essentially an open enquiry to the gathered throng for confirmation/supportable evidence.
  8. Someone told me that apparently there are advertising hoardings round the pitch where businesses haven't been asked for renewal monies in years. So not even a question that certain businesses won't pay ... they haven't even been asked. Has anyone else heard that? Can the business admin/cash collection in the club really be that bad?
  9. Where are they? Are they still alive? I remember fondly the optimism after Seedorf's first game. I left today thinking ... i don't know if / when i want to bother going back through again. Where is the passion for the shirt! A team almost entirely made up of journeymen marking time. Depressing. This early on and I expect us to be relegated ... I had hope until the last game last season.
  10. This popped up in my Facebook memories yesterday. A mere 2 years ago!! Excellent all-round performance. Creative, good defending, beautiful passing. Only criticism is we could have been out of sight by half-time with more clinical finishing.

    Robertson Out

And that is why Ross County are a premier league team (and will probably remain one) ... and we aren't. When tough business decisions need to be made for the long-term good of the club, there is no messing about ... even when it is a cup winning manager.

  14. From Dumbarton fans on Pie & Bovril After 1st half: "We lose the first goal and the heads go down. We're sitting back and inviting them to attack us. Which they're doing half heartedly.""Caley Thistle aren't helping. They seem content to play at a pedestrian pace, secure on the knowledge that we pose absolutely no risk. This is as insipid and dull as football gets." After full-time: "Inverness dominated the 1st half and should have been 2 or 3 up ... You could see though how devoid of confidence Inverness are. As soon as we equalised they fell apart."
  15. Defintely worse this season. Last season, we at least had one or two decent results at the start of the season (Aberdeen, Celtic, St Johnstone) ... this season has been utter mince!
  16. Childhood in Inverness for me meant the occasional Highland League game at Kingsmills "round the block" and the even more occasional visit to Kingsmills or Telford Street if a "big team" came to town. It was a really big deal if any league team visited (even the Montrose's or Stenhousemuir's of the day). I remember the excitement of Thistle thumping Kilmarnock 3-0 on a cold day, seeing Celtic at Kingsmills at a midweek friendly game (part of Ryan Christie's dad going to Celtic?) and Aberdeen at Telford Street (part of Liam Polworth's dad going to the Dons?). It's certainly good to reminisce. I embraced the promise of league football offered by the merger and have been a keen ICT supporter ever since, taking in their first ever league game at Telford Street and a season ticket holder for the last 4/5 years up to now. In between, life has intervened (work, location, family) from time to time, making regular attendance more challenging but I'm proud to say that I've seen most of the big events first hand (supercaleygoballistic win in Glasgow, cup semi and finals). All this warm, cuddly stuff is nice to look back on but it's also worth bearing in mind that, from the outset (circa 1994), the feeling amongst the great, the good and the humble supporter was that Inverness had been frozen out of senior football for long enough., that its population etc warranted a team at the top table and that it should endeavour to get there within several years. "Should" is a big word and brings no guarantees but, with sincere thanks to everyone involved, we certainly got there ... and then some, didn't we! It isn't wrong to get frustrated or angry with disappointing team/club performances/attitudes/choices. We shouldn't curl up in a corner and meekly accept dross just because, hey, we used to be in the Highland League after all. Successful people in sport get a taste for success and want more. I'm realistic though. When we won the cup, I told my son to enjoy it because we might not see another one. I'll support ICT whatever division they find themselves in ... in the knowledge that I've been there before.
  17. I started to ask that question for the first time today. At least Richie appeared animated on the touchline like he cared. Mark my words we are sleepwalking to another relegation unless our porous defence and shot-shy midfield/attack wake up and smell the coffee.
  18. I'm at the game and decided it is more enjoyable to go to the car and sit waiting for a clear path to the exit. Utter garbage. Heart breaking.
  19. 100% agreed. Let's not allow pride/stubbornness create a re-run of Foran/Fisher where a key player is benched/excluded to the detriment of the club/league position.
