  1. He seems to be playing deeper to stop Naismith getting forward and help Deas neutralise Gardyne.
  2. Brilliant by Mackay! 1-2!!! Skinned 2 defenders and cool finish. Yes!!!
  3. Their left back should have been booked too. His foul was as bad as Devine’s.
  4. Not the classiest 45 but enjoyable. We have more than matched them. It was important we equalised before half time. County have had a lot of loose passes as we have been pressing them. We need to maintain the tempo as this game is there for the taking. Watching the goals back, no one was marking Mckay! But what a finish by Toddy!
  5. Close by Allan.
  6. 1-1. Toddy!! Well finished. We deserved that!
  7. Oh no. 1-0. Mckay.
  8. Mackay goal disallowed. Played in well by Allan but clearly off.
  9. Devine booked. Decent start by us but County have grown into it.
  10. Ridgers’ 150th game for us tonight. Hope he gets a clean sheet to celebrate with! Allan starting which hopefully helps us make chances. Really buzzing now!!
  11. The Highland League has been declared ended, with Brora the Champions on goal difference following calculating points per game, so will be in the pyramid play offs if they go ahead: http://www.hflhub.co.uk/ Brora were one of five teams to have 100% records, but the five had only played two or three games. I wonder how they calculated the points per game for Strathspey Thistle who had played no league games? Kelty Hearts are currently top of the Lowland League, both on actual points and on points per game.

  13. That 3-0 win in Dingwall was one of my favourite away days, as I was amongst home fans as I was being treated to hospitality by a County fan, and it was great to have gloating rights after a great performance and result. It would be great if Storey could score a couple like that tomorrow night!
  14. Looking forward to it, albeit a bit nervously. With our recent form, and County struggling and pretty inconsistent, whilst we go into it as underdogs I think we are in with a chance. We’ve acquitted ourselves well in Friday night games so far this season. We need a strong start to make them nervous. Carson v Vigurs or Draper could be an interesting match up if Carson is back in midfield. I agree with caleyboy that the league is our priority, but a confidence boosting performance and result will do no harm. Who knows, it could yet turn out to be a play off rehearsal!!
  15. We need Neilson to get a reaction from Hearts on Saturday as they are playing at Dunfermline.
  16. We now have the best defensive record in the league. Everyone else has conceded more than the 23 we have to date. Just highlights that if we had been more deadly in front of goal, we would have been comfortably in a play off place. Hopefully we have plenty of assists from Allan to enjoy in the next few weeks!

Now 4-1. Dunfermline are on a really bad run: hope it continues until the end of April! Prior to tonight, in the league they have won 2 and lost 4 of their last 6, and been knocked out of the cup by Morton.
  18. Friday’s kick off. time has been moved from 1935 to 1945: https://ictfc.com/highland-derby-updated-kick-off-time

The first league game has typically been the first weekend in August in recent seasons, so this is pretty consistent.

Dates have been announced for next season, with the League Cup staying on 10 July and the leagues on 31 July. Hopefully we are allowed to attend matches by then! https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/sport/calendar-confirmed-for-2021-22-campaign-232830/
  21. Before we play Morton, Raith play Dunfermline in midweek and Dunfermline play Hearts on Saturday. A draw and a Hearts win probably best for us?

A great tournament, and it feels like our best one in years. If only we’d been able to beat Wales or Ireland (or preferably both) in those close games and we could have been really celebrating!
  23. I missed today’s livestream, the only one I’ve missed apart from the Hearts away game and the home game with Dundee as I was in the crowd that day. I was driving from just before full time until Sportsound finished at 1800, and am disgusted with the BBC coverage. All we got was a few seconds of headlines around the news at 1700, then an interview with Neil McCann was broadcast at 1750 (he came across well and praised the guys for getting the win whilst dead on their feet after nine games in March), but absolutely no report on the game and no reference to us being fourth (at that time) after the good run. In fact, they gave the impression we were sixth as they listed us last of the teams on 30 points. And why? They spent nearly an hour talking about Hearts and how they should sack their Manager. Well seeing there were no games in the top flight: it would hardly have rated a mention normally. They said they would have build up to tomorrow’s Scotland game, but that got two minutes at the very end. Anyway, rant over, and credit the guys for grinding out a vital win. Whilst not mathematically safe, it would take a collapse and remarkable run of results to get us down to 9th, whilst we have a fighting chance of the top four. It won’t be easy, but we have momentum for probably the first time this season. If we can get a result in Greenock, then what seemed unlikely just a few weeks ago may become possible. Thanks for the comments on the match. It sounds that it was a pretty poor game but, as others have said, results are more important than performances. Earlier in the season we were drawing or losing when we should have won, so it is good we are now able to win. Four clean sheets in the league is a great achievement. The signing of Scott Allan is hopefully a sign that the Board have ambitions to see the club progress. Well done to one and all involved!
  24. It sounds like Dan Mackay may miss out tomorrow: https://ictfc.com/match-preview-arbroath-h If so, presumably Storey will start. Hopefully we maintain our recent momentum in the league and get the win that will take us into the top four, at least until the evening game between Dundee and Dunfermline.
  25. Not a great surprise given the issues he has had with injuries in all his time here. When he did play last season he looked a decent defender, so hopefully he finds a club somewhere. However, it is another example of the challenges some players are facing being away from their families during the pandemic. Looking forward, given our current managerial position, I wonder who will be scouting for replacements for those we will inevitably lose in the summer. Does anyone have a list of known contract expiry dates?
