  1. We perhaps moved Munro on a season or 2 early. The decision being a touch premature. But it would likely have had to be made at some point down the line. Perhaps releasing 3 stalwarts all in one go being a tad ott but it would have been a problem at some point. As a manager you have to make brave calls. As at the end of the day a bad run can see you sacked. Also worth remembering we lost Adam Rooney, our top scorer, that summer as well.
  2. Duffy might have been an option 4 of 5 years ago when he was banging them in at Cheltenham but he can't seriously be seen as a viable option now. Surely there's better choices out there. Vigurs and Polworth cannot play as 2 central mids together. They just don't have the game for it.
  3. I believe his deal runs until January. Odd one. I believe it came about last summer when he signed a 1 year deal with optional year extension. Due to injuries etc he wasn't going to automatically trigger the extra year but in December Foran decided to offer a separate 6 Months until Jan 2018 that wasn't tied to the original deal. Currently he's probably able to talk to clubs about a pre contract. It's one I'm undecided on. He's a favourite and part of many great memories. The goal v celtic and singing on stage with the guitar at the cup parade being right up there. Hes a wealth of experience as well. However if he's no longer able to truly offer to the first team it might be better, for both parties, to severe ties. We'd have a substantial earner off the books, and able to use it towards new recruits and Dave the Rave would be free to continue his career elsewhere. That's not to say I'd not be happy for him to stay, but, he has to be able to offer an input to the first team on the pitch. We don't have enough room in our budget for sentiment really. As cold as that sounds. This is why the likes of Tokely, Russell and Munro were eventually released. Because Butcher felt their best was behind them and he could get better people in to do the job on the money. You could say he was justified with the signings of Warren and Meekings.
  4. We have a Clach Game! Season Complete!
  5. Aside from Hayes, all of those players were signed when we were a premier league club. Even Rooney who signed season we got relegated. And Hayes had played less than 50 games. Cast your mind back to the players brought in the season we were in the championship/1st division. Dan Stratford, Robert Eagle, Nauris Bulvitis etc. None of them really had much experience or pedigree at the time. But if we can blend young hungry players with the experience already at the club. Ridgers, Raven, Warren, Tremarco, Draper, Baird, Mackay to an extent then we should have a good blend. I reckon our next few signings will be Joe Chalmers, Scott Leitch and this Dutch striker mentioned. Possibly the 17 year old Foy who impressed earlier against Forres.
  6. Zachary Elbouzedi - 2 year deal on free transfer after leaving West Bromwich Albion. http://Take a look at @ICTFC's Tweet: https://twitter.com/ICTFC/status/883317899569618945?s=09
  7. Might have been a 1 + 1 deal whereby both parties agree to activating 2nd year.
  8. I had a look and it was a 2 year deal he'd signed so expires next summer.
  9. OFW will be away soon enough I'd imagine. That'll be another. I think that getting rid of 3 of 4 plus lots of other middle earners will be giving us the wiggle room required.
  10. That's why it's good to have someone connected to the club and also local living. CC would have no great will to move away but could structure the make up of the club from senior to youth teams over several managers so that whilst we might change we retain a long term ideology and continuity.
  11. Well we're not really spending any money. We've released half our squad, many high earners, so even if we replace every one of them it's unlikely we'll be spending anywhere close as much on individual wages. Meaning that whilst we might have similar numbers (likely less) we'll likely have a far smaller wage bill.
  12. I see a poll on the way.... Early leading contenders probably being Boden and Andy Barrowman.
  13. I think CC would be a great general manager/DoF personally. Someone who loves the club. Someone who has played for the club. Someone who has managed the club and knows the pressures involved in doing so. Someone who is articulate and intelligent. Someone who seems would be able to work with a manager to help him get what he needs and communicate this to the board. Someone who actually knows who the board are and understands their make up.
  14. Please note I only used because I couldn't find a cat fight emoji.
  15. Or better yet we find out if the lad has a twitter account and all pester him to get his uncle to sign as well! Because we're a "family club" Oh and uncle Clarence would absolutely boss the Scottish championship even at 41.
  16. C. Seedorf - 2 Year deal Plus Riccardo Calder - 2 year deal and Matty Elsdon on a season long loan from Middlesbrough. (6 Months with option to extend)
  17. Didn't realise that Ridgers had signed a 3 year deal. I wouldn't have thought we'd be handing out any long deals out in the championship but it looks like he's the choice to make the goalkeeper position his and settled. “To be able to move here on a three-year deal is massive. It gives me the opportunity to focus fully on football." - Press and Journal article.
  18. Quinn would be a solid signing. If he's available for a decent wage and wants to join, get him on board.
  19. Maybe he was an exec director and is now becoming a non exec chairman and he had to resign as an executive before registering as non exec. I'm sure it's probably/hopefully just some silly technicality.
  20. Still played 18 games in league last season despite knee Op. If he's fit he'd be an exceptional Championship player and one we know could make the step back up. Something likes of Warren and Raven probably couldn't do in a year.
  21. I don't think we'd have brought Ridgers in if OFW wasn't moving on. Even if he wasn't at his best last season OFW would still be a top keeper for the Championship and there'd be no need for signing someone. He'll be on a decent wage so we can hopefully reinvest it elsewhere even if we don't get a fee. In hindsight it might have been better to cash in on OFW after the Euros last year and kept big Dean Brill as no1 who was always more commanding anyway. I imagine Ridgers will be number 1 next season backed up by Mackay or Hoban, with the other being loaned out. Esson will be coach but registered as a player as so that the loanee doesn't need to be recalled/ we're not left with 2 rookies if an injury was to come about.
  22. There's probably no point in registering someone at companies house until the SFA approve it. Even if it is just a formality. Or maybe we're just slow at getting things done.
  23. The family home that was promised in the contract not living up to expectations perhaps...
  24. He's only 21. Most players at that age tend to have not pulled up many roots unless they're something quite special. Look at Hayes record when he joined us. Hardly breathtaking. However we can hopefully provide the springboard for young players to showcase their talents. We just need to get better at maximising revenue from them.
