Everton and Newcastle are favourites followed by Villa. I think the main reason he got homesick last time was the fact he knew there was a route back. If he goes this time i think he would know his links were severed and make a better effort to settle. Why he'd want to go back to Glasgow after escaping..........

Newcastle, West Ham or Everton i imagine. Le guen is a numpty but i'm not complaining. At least ecks teams had some fight.
  3. MarkBrown never got the opportunity to put a foot wrong. Think he was only tested the once.
  4. Didnt effect the other teams the weather does it. Can't remember us using the long ball much either. Just passing it round them. We didnt let them play. Albeit they had no invention whatsoever but we defended comfortably and attacked with aggresive purpose. The Daily Record is not worth the paper thats wasted on it. Save A Tree - Burn down the DR office! read a proper paper! I read the metro down here. remarably unbiased given most of the info seems to be directly quoted from the tabloid sports sections sometimes! Buy the Sun over the Record, At least it has page three and funny Nazi sensationalist headlines. (Nazi's aren't funny i mean, but the headlines are most comical)
  5. Caught the game on Setanta in the pub getting smashed. We were amazing! I can't remember Brown having any more than one save of note. Macgregor was immense tonight. Without him we could have hit them for 4 or 5. I think the stats said 8 saves. Rankin was sheer class tonight and Bayne is continuing to show marked improvement in his aerial distribution. Caused their back four all sorts of trouble! Before the game given the form of both teams i feared the worst. After it i phoned my hun bud and even he admitted ICT were the better team and deserved to win. Never a penalty either for Ferguson but Dodds tug on Novo was a tad cheeky! and had novo done the usual and tumbled i felt they would have got a penalty. So it evened up there. Novo dived before that too. My mate said that was a stonewaller along with the tug. I said it was the only way they would have scored tonight because their attacking force was poor to say the least. Some great link up play down the flanks and Rankin missed an immense cut back from Rossco after some neat one-twos on the wing when he should have at least hit the target. All in all an emmense effort and if we play like that against anyone, on the deck, quick attacking the wings we shouldn't have to many problems. Funny that the last game we won was against Rangers on our undefeated run!!! Most ironic :015: :015: :015: :022: :021:
  6. :015: :015: :015: I thought we were hard of with Bayne for a bit of a clumsy oalf but a) he didnt cost £1.8m and b) he occasionally finds the back of the net.
  7. I think wilsons age and experience would easily counteract any selfish attacker instincts. He both plays by example and encourages his team mates around him. Wouldnt have dods stripped of the captaincy though. that would be harsh.
  8. just read on other thread he has got it. will be announced tomorow. i feel a tad foolish. :017:
  9. i just noticed this, so feel very foolish to hae just posted on another thread that he deserves it but prob wont get. Congratulations CC and the rest of ICT
  10. with the results we have got so far this month. especially the ibrox result and our superb comeback v falkirk, for him not to get it would be harsh. And to be honest Celtic have not impressed in their last two games, narrow wins v the well and Killie. But i bet someone like jefferies will get it.
  11. any real need for another striker (as in smart) as dargo and wyness are good and bayne judging from newspaper reports and highlights has started to steadily improve his link up play. I have noticed a few of his flick ons reaching dargo. and rory mac seems to be improving all the time. and hopefully will be knocking on the door to the 1st team.
  12. dont like him. that reaction when Drogba scored was sheer relief. Knowing that he was being outclassed and got lucky at end. He was panicing up to that point as getting beat by barca would have made him look quite bad. Given the money and players he's got i'm suprised chelsea are so ordinary. But then again so is he.
  13. would be useful aquisition i'm sure but any chance of us etting him is minimal. And besides if he cant get a game for Celtic......
  14. I dont see how brown never makes it into the Scotland Squad. Given the regular three last year. Gordon is undisputed no1 by a mile. Cardiff's alexander is very good too. but how on earth does that nonsense marshall get near the team. he never gets a game and any time he does he concedes a hatful and the defence are all over the place. Bad news for brown though is that apparently the old Dun Utd boy Gallagher has been performing amically for Norwich which would probably mean brown is ignored yet again. A foley given our defensive record last season. we never concede alot and brown is a key part in that defence
  15. I cant see past mcswegan. yup definitely gary mcswegan......... ...We're talking about pie eating right?
  16. What a joke! he's past it and not worth the wages. He will surely be at least 5th choice behind Dargo, Wyness, Bayne, McAllister because he will not offer much at SPL level

Tokely is a consistent performer who somethimes makes rash challenges. He may not have the best in terms of ability but i would rather he be in the team than out as he is one of the teams hardest workers and shows a good example of an honest hardworking pro who is also loyal. As for the comments regarding Sproules pace, if he had any ability to go with that he would be top class, be alas he can only run. His former coach rates his younger brother more highly-lets sign him.
  18. Oh and Fox, I always forget him. However i'd still rather have McBain over him. gives more to the team.
  19. I'd probably be disappointed if McBain left. Always thought he was a good honest worker and is left sided too. And I think he still cuts it at SPL level. With Him, Black, Rankin, Keogh, Duncan, would that not be a good amount of central mids or am i missing someone. (probably) I guess cambell would replace him on the left if he comes in and offer cover on the right if need be.
  20. He was never that good. I mean he couldnt even score against us when we beat them the 2nd time.
  21. Being humped by Switzerland wasnt geat. however aside from that ( remembering the teams Switzerland have beaten and qualified against - they were in France's group i believe) we have done well. Yes Bulgaria were not at full strength but you forget that, Gordon, Webster, Pressley, Hartley, Ferguson, Maloney, Mcmanus and K Miller were all missing. Thats 6 regular starters (1st 5 and Miller) and Maloney was getting close to there. And Japan were not in disarray. They were just poor. and have been an ordinary side for a while
  22. I think with the changing ways in Scotland of teams (including Old and Infirm) having no cash to waste on cheap foreigners. the young lads have as good a chance as any to develop and get into the 1st team. At grass roots level the main problem is the only place you can play footie nowadays is down at a football park. When the great scottish players of the 60s/70s were growing up, they could play anywhere. nowadays if there isnt a no ball games sign there usually happens to be a car threatening their life. It reminds me of a time when a Janitor i knew was phoned by a pensioner to tell some kids to stop playing football on college grounds on a beautiful summers day. (and remember this is scotland, we dont get many) He was also asked to phone the police to move them on. Now not only would this be a terrible waste of police time. but why move them on for making a bit of noise and having fun? Fair enough if she owned the land but it was college owned and they were just playing football. Another time me and my friends tried to play football on a privately owned football field because the council owned rugby field grass was too long/ being used (cant remember) and it was fine till some old git who was the groundkeeper or something moved us on because in the past youths had damaged the dugout area and so on and so forth. The fact that the local astroturf pitches were being used for tennis and cost £15 an hour to hire didnt help matters. it would be ok if they were well maintained but this stuff was worse than east end park. And payin to play football, your having a laugh arent you? Change these attitudes and it might help. But I for the 1st time since the Euro 2000 qualifiers i feel optimistic about Scotland and it gives me a buzz to watch them. with goal scorers like Boyd and Faddy. Great providers in Burke and Maloney and solid centre halfs in Webster and Mcmanus with a top keeper like Gordon. as well as Fletch and Ferguson and hartley with the likes of O Conner and Roirdan and Steven Smith and Scott Brown. The future looks Bright indeed Oh and dont forget Mark brown (GIVE HIM A GO)
  23. I would say I believe but because of mars stealing that................. I believe on our day we now, with the new found organisation we have have the ability to take 18 points from the 3 bottom teams in the draw. I feel we could beat Ukraine at home and France without Zidane are nowhere near as good a team. (remember also that Thuram etc are also bowing out) Lets get behind the team. our standing in the seeding is bad though and needs to improve to give us a chance for future draws
  24. Its amazing that a goalkeeper who is part of the 4th meanest defence in the league last season and not far behind the top three can be consistently overlooked by Smith who picks a Celtic bench player every time as understudy to Gordon. To be Honest Craig Gordon is Scotlands clear 1st choice number one and Neil Alexander should also be there, but why someone who is as consistent as Brown everyweek is always overlooked for the squad even as No3 is astounding.
  25. 3 games in a week is certainly not unheard of in pre season. might be a wee bit much depending on the schedule but i'm sure the club and its coaches know far better.
