Thought I'd make it easy for everyone to keep track of the squad as it develops towards the start of the season (And in January too if needs be). I've posted the full squad within their deal lengths etc as you'll have seen on other threads. I'd like to limit comments to just confirmed signings, departures, confirmed deal extensions and the contract lengths. ie Kevin McNaughton has signed on a 1 year deal. Be good signings I reckon. Kevin Mcnaughton is an experienced player who was consistently solid at a high level for a decade. Can play both sides as full back. Makes me wonder if we'll still sign a centre half. As Tremarco and Draper can both play there. Billy King is a young player with promise who will be looking to prove himself. Our players are notoriously grounded and that might help him settle and showcase his talent. And if he enjoys it he might sign up at the end of his contract. I won't read too much into his inability to get in a bloated attack at Rangers last season.

In case anyone wants an update of the current squad... Minus Gabriel Obertan obviously.

Not really. Simply because we have 18 players on senior contracts and if we sign 2-3 more during pre season as we normally do, after trials, then we'd have a normal operating squad. The league doesn't start for another month. So again, wait for English contracts to expire and trials to be offered. You seem to forget we have until the end of August until the window closes.

Caley Thistle needs to go Iceland and get some quality frozen goods for the first team.

Yep squad of 18 including those who have stepped up, and Foran has been quoted as wanting a couple more in after Mulraney. "He will join up with the rest of the lads at the end of the month and we still hope to add a few more players in advance of that." I'm quite sure they'll manage 2-3 signings over the next 2 months. We'll no doubt have our usual trialists. If anything for us to have 2 new signings before the end of June and the squad this full is relatively early.

Nah.... Jake Mulraney. I do hope Ali gets his chance this season though. It's a shame that given all our injuries last season Yogi never used it to have a look at him and Brown in a first team game. Off the bench he could potentially cause havoc.

I reckon we'd do well to set up a link with a Dublin boys club or such. We've fast established a link with the city though signings such as Doran, Hayes, Foran, Rooney and now young Jake Mulraney and perhaps having a local link allowing us to scout the local talent would see young Dubliners with potential find their way into the pro game via Caley Thistle.

In case anyone is interested Brian Rice has been confirmed as Ritchie's assistant for the next 2 seasons. Quite happy with this. As it keeps things settled, he's a wealth of experience and will have several contacts in the game to aid player signings etc.

Hopefully recent first team graduates Ali Sutherland and Jason Brown can get a few opportunities this season coming. I imagine Ritchie will be assessing their readiness in pre season. Having a good youth program can only benefit the club in terms of potential sell ons and I imagine great effort is made in this regard. As a young club in terms of national recognition, it'll only probably be from now that youngsters brought up solely as ICT fans will be striving to fulfil their dream of playing for their boyhood club.

I imagine that he's been offered first team football. Plus Particks central belt location may have been appealing. I'd rather he'd have stayed for continuities sake but he's not irreplaceable in the cold hard light of day. Both Tremarco and Draper can play there though I'd expect with Williams, Hughes, Vincent and Wedderburn leaving a new midfielder will join for starters. Another defender will almost certainly join. Though I imagine that Foran will look for versatility there.

In my opinion we will require- 1 central defender (the ability to play left back also preferably) One winger ideally left sided after losing Roberts and Williams. 1 midfielder. This would give a squad of 20 which is around our usual numbers. Though maybe 1 more given that Sutherland, Brown and Mackay are all untested. Then again, If we don't give them a chance why bother giving them a contract in the first place?

Update - Jordan Roberts, Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo, Ryan Williams and Danny Devine have all left the club.

Ideally based on the squad we have we can - keep Roberts, or sign another left sided midfielder. Keep Devine or sign another centre half. Retain Mutombo or sign another creative player in that ilk. And keep Williams and then we've got enough midfielders in there. In addition to this I'd like another winger. Or ideally someone who can cover the whole left side with a little pace. And maybe another young pacey forward...but I hope Ali Sutherland can maybe fill that role. Though I've never seen him play so no ideal how fast he actually is
