Building for next season.
Just seen that Liverpool have dumped some of their players. Obviously Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne are never going to happen, but there are a few players that have been dumped, and potentially could be taken in with us on a free, none of which have made any appearances for the Liverpool first team. Think if we're not looking for keepers, these are the ones we should be looking at: Jack Walls (Defender, only been at Liverpool) or, Issac Christie-Davies (Midfielder, went to Brugge on loan, no appearances for either). They're the only two outfielders who've been released, Christie-Davies has played internationally as a youth for Wales and England, but hasn't been called up since 2018. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11956567/liverpool-release-lallana-clyne-premier-league/?utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=bau_paid_social_sunfacebook&utm_medium=social&utm_term=uv_audience&utm_content=paid_boost

And hopefully they it won't be as bad as the "live" games on Facebook where the video quality plummets after about 30 viewers... Also how do I renew my ST on Tickethour? It's showing my seat as taken...

Ex-ICT players' news
Not exactly the most memorable players we've produced, but Jordan Macdonald and Gary Farquhar have joined the coaching team at the GSP. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/highland-league/2287673/clach-appoint-former-players-macdonald-and-farquhar-to-coaching-team/

Favourite away ground
Quite liked Edinburgh City (or should I say Spartans), just has a nice grassroots feel to it. But Victoria Park has to be one of the best in terms of atmosphere, not a fan of the layout and coming up to the seats in the middle of the stand. As for the mentions of Arbroath, it does have the switching ends which I don't think is found anywhere else at a professional ground (except Ayr, but we haven't been in the goal end stands), but then you're miles from the toilet depending on where you are, and it's going to be cold on evening or winter matches, we just got off lucky that it was a usual kick off and it was decent weather, so it's not a place you'd be wanting to stand about at.

New ICT Podcast
Think for the Prem, it goes by capacity AND covered seating, same argument went round the other season when Ayr were in the playoffs, and it was said they'd be allowed in even though most of their stadium is terraced...

Doing up the car park and clearing the brush around the ground would be a better start. Looks like they've just slapped it down wherever they could and didn't bother making the place look nice first. The shortcut from the north stand to the Kessock Bridge needs cleared, cos all that is covered in jaggy bushes, and maybe sorting out the turnstile at the far end of the north stand (not sure if there's one on the south stand or not) but it would be useful to have it fixed, because the queues for the big games against C*unty, The Dons and the Ugly Sisters are immense and if I remember right, I missed kick off at the cup replay because they had issues with the scanner, and were putting everyone through that one turnstile on the roadside. A LOT needs to be done to the stadium and its grounds before the topic of entertainment comes up. Another thing that would be useful (not right now, but in a few years or so, would be the development of the fourth stand. Even something the size of what the old north stand would be sufficient. Because, for a Premiership side (well, a side that's mainly been in the premiership), it looks a bit off that we've three fully developed stands, and one stand that was intended to be temporary, and something that definitely would've benefited us with a much higher gate reciept if we had a decent stand for the game vs Astra, and hell, we'd definitely have needed it if we went on to play West Ham. If we're looking to be a relatively decent Premiership side, building up the ground comes just before the pre-match entertainment, mainly down to the fact that the stands are barren for ages until about 45 minutes before kick-off, so there's not really anyone to entertain...

League restructure
Heard something about a potential outcome being Hearts and Partick being punted right down the pyramid. Though, I doubt it would happen, as the pair of them would raise hell with CAS and UEFA

Is this the first time a lack of a third stand has benefited us. Watch the behind closed doors games from the Layby on the A9.

The season ahead
Was intending to get it and only open it when we next lift the Scottish Cup, but at 125 smackeroonies, it's a bit on the steep side (especially when it's being advertised as a "late father's day gift" as if anyone that desperate for a last minute gift at this stage would give up and hand over 125 quid for a bottle of whisky)

The season ahead
One question I have about the whole thing is that since Hearts and Partick are going to court in an attempt to get their relegations overruled, if they're successful, would that mean there would be no promotion or relegation, or would it force through reconstruction?

Steven Mackay has summed it up quite well... https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/highland-league/2265200/brora-manager-mackay-plays-down-comments-from-rovers-boss/ Also sent Albion a PM asking if the comments reflected the views of the club, because it's entirely unprofessional to vote no cos it's "too much of a trek" then say it's a "birthday relief" that the reconstruction talks got smothered. This is people's livelihoods we're talking about here, not only would the players be grown by playing professional football, but the village would severely benefit due to the inflow of all the fans from around the country.

Saying that reminds me of the 2014-15 season, we were top of the league for ages. Forget when it was though that our form dropped...checking Wikipedia, looks like it was around Christmas and March/April our form dipped. Wonder why tbf...

Think they've dumped a ton of high earners/class players because of relegation, so I think we're in with a shout of the title...

Building for next season.
Was referring to his previous stint in 2002-04, where he took us from mid table during the Pele era in the First Division to Promotion to the SPL. In those two seasons he was with us, he took us on back to back trips to Hampden and got us a Challenge Cup. The man knows what he's doing with the club, he's saved us before, and he can do it again, he's probably the best manager the club has ever had. Obviously Yogi is up there cos he took us to a League Cup final, a Scottish Cup title and Europe, but Robbo is better with working on a tight budget.

What you on about "overrating him" mans gotten us to 3 Scottish Cup Semis in the 5 years he's been with us, all of which were with a First Division/Championship side. As well as finishing in (what would be) the playoff spots in 4 of those 5 seasons. Including 2 (potentially 3) Challenge Cups.

Basically shows that most clubs in Scottish Football are greedy, selfish bastarts and would rather further line their pockets than help others who's sides could be jeopardized by relegation. Reconstruction keeps it fair for everyone involved, and it's better than nothing at all...

I mean Elgin more or less have the same issue, minus a dozen or so miles.
