  1. Have, this day, sent payments for myself and Aileen via paypal.
  2. I wonder where the newspapers get their stories from. Yesterday's Star had Duff on trial with us. Another daily, when reporting on the two signings, stated that both players had impressed in trials prior to signing. Considering the squad only got back together on monday how much trial time did the two have?
  3. The average human can make noise to around 70 dB (decibel) The average plane taking off produces between 120 and 140 dB The workplace limit for noise is 90 dB on a time weighted average of 8 hours. Permanent hearing damage can occur at 85 dB The vuvuzela produces 127 dB That, for me, should be enough reason to have them banned. Why should I risk future disability from unwanted noise being blasted into my lugs. These things could force many fans away from football for the reasons I outline. Added the following table which comes from the Health and Safety at Work Act regulations on noise in the workplace. Continuous dB......Permissible Exposure Time 85 db............................8 hours 88 dB............................4 hours 91 db............................2 hours 94 db............................1 hour 97 db............................30 minutes 100 db..........................15 minutes 103 db..........................7.5 minutes 106 dB..........................3.75 min (< 4min) 109 dB..........................1.875 min (< 2min) 112 dB..........................0.9375 min (~1 min) 115 dB..........................0.46875 min (~30 sec) Where would you fit the Vuvuzela into that? Note that each 3 decibel increase halves the time exposure. My calculations say around 1.87 sec.
  4. Not sure there are extra's available for purchase. I think the SFL have a number of medals struck for each competition and thats what the club gets. It must be difficult for any club, especially if they have a biggish squad, to decide who gets what. The first sixteen, I would imagine, go to the team who are presented with the trophy. That only leaves four for every other deserving soul.
  5. Love the way so many of you think they'd be good while your sat in front of your tv with your thumb on the remote volume button. One of the most popular products for sale in SA has been earplugs.
  6. Just a thought.........if Newcastle had kept a hold of their players and put them out on lone they'd have to pay some of the wages plus insurance etc. If Butchers mate at Newcastle comes to agreement that he'll arrange to let the players go with the provisio that they are signed for a year and an option that, assuming they shine, Newcastle re-sign them after that year then everyones happy. the players have a chance to fight for a place. the club they go to gets a year out of them and Newcastle get back players who have improved and are match fit. Its like puting them out on loan but without the liability. Does that make sense?
  7. No....seems like a very sensible idea not to encourage them. My lugs have suffered enough noise induced damage through the years without adding more.
  8. Don't speak Flemish but as its a mix of french, german and dutch I'm sure french will be understood. Can't even find a flemish translator online. Could always put it it Dutch as well......Er is genoeg te doen om uw tijd in Inverness te bezetten......and add.........Geniet van het spel en dont worden verstoord als je verliest. And just so as the german part is not neglected I could add......Sie finden viel, um in Inverness zu tun, bevor und nachdem Sie dieses Spiel verlieren
  9. Hello Katrien, Il y aura d'abondance pour occuper votre temps ? Inverness
  10. Not about believing RiG. Just before the semi started one commentator referred to his as Englands best hope since...............
  11. Hope all the media publish the fact he's a Polish Israeli. Maybe boost the crowds.
  12. I'd call it Had you made a similar I wouldn't even think to question how you knew. I'd just assume you must know.
  13. How do you know ? We're not all couped up in Dalneigh mun. Some of us get out and about and see the rest of the world. Met him at a wedding a few years ago. Whats with the attitude ? I only asked a question ffs . What attitude? You ask a question I answer it. However, I wouldn't have made the statement without knowing the truth and although I freely answer your question, I take exception at being asked in such a way as to question the integrity of the statement.
  14. How do you know ? We're not all couped up in Dalneigh mun. Some of us get out and about and see the rest of the world. Met him at a wedding a few years ago.
  15. Or course the people making the comments know him so well. Because someone doesn't come across too well in front of a camera doesn't mean they are boring and I can assure you Andy is far from boring away from the limelight.
  16. I don't think your legally allowed to turf your mother. I dont even believe she has an influence on him. She's just a very proud mother wanting her son to be successful. As for the game itself. At this moment in time, when Nadal is fit and playing at the top of his game, there is not another player out there who can match him. He is number 1 for only one reason. He is the best in the world and its no shame to be beaten by him.
  17. Plenty of bars. Some with live entertainment. A couple of night clubs. Enjoy the journey and the weekend and dont be too upset when we beat you.
  18. I'm with the odd quine. In my younger day managers and employers were bad people. they demanded a days work for a days pay and if you challenged it or didn't do it you were out on your @rse and no questions. If you worked hard the employer or manager would start to like you and coach you to better things. So hard work would pay off in the long run. Nowadays team work and worker involvement is the thing. People are coached into taking pride in what they do. They are made to feel part of the system and to get involved in the decision making. Unfortunately, between then and now, laws came into being that protected the disruptive or lazy worker from being shown the door and that is the one who can upset a whole team to such an extent that no amount of motivation will make a difference. On one of Oddquines points though.....It may not be the responsibility of a manager to motivate but good managers do it as a matter of course. Reward and encouragement are all used to motivate. Anyone, in any field, should be giving what is expected of them for the salary they recieve and if they are in any way ambitious then thats what they will be doing and the pat on the back, the well done, the thank you is going to motivate them to do even more.
  19. Suppose they will have to 'build' dividing walls.
  20. All the backroom staff. The chef's and waiters. The boot boy. The water carrier. Would surprise you how many it takes to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of our star players. Our world beaters.
  21. They're not building a sports bar. They're converting the concourse area within the main stand to a sports bar.
  22. And murray through to semi. At the start of Wimbeldon he was Scottish. Won two matches and became British. Tomorrow he'll be Englands great white hope.
  23. SMEE, will there ever come a time when you can make a comment without being so negative. There is a world of difference between Barrowman and Rooney. For a start the latter doesn't have an ego bigger than his abilities. I would say that " I reckon Hayes will still cause lots of problems at SPL level tho" is pretty positive Alex. And i do believe i was one of the ones who stuck up for Butcher when many were questioning his management skills....again POSITIVE!....so maybe its YOU who just like to pick and chose what parts you see! Bottom line is.......am as entitled as you are to air my opinion OK! If you dont like it...TUFF luck! Funilly enuff....i was talking to an ICT supporter tonight about Rooney...and he also suspects Rooney may well struggle this season. Rooney has a great advantage over Barrowman. He's had near a whole season playing with the same guys he'll be playing with next season. He is a different type of player. Has more skill and commitment and actually wants to fit in with the team. To suggest he'll succumb to the Barrowman syndrome is totally negative and yes you are entitled to air your opinion but I think its wrong to bring the lad down with such comments before he's even had a chance to prove himself.
  24. The latest German football chant Your just a small part of Scotland, just a small part of Scotland
  25. Personally I think there are a lot of very good ROI players in the british leagues but I think, if they put in the work then both Hayes and Rooney have a chance, but not for a couple or three years.
