  1. Nonsence! So are we saying that 18 stone rugby players would improve if they lost weight?
  2. Total agreement. Its not weight that matters its fitness. If the guy can put in a good shift and carry on doing what he's good at then so be it.
  3. And we moan http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28522535
  4. On 6th August 1945 the B-29 bomber named Enola Gay after the pilots mother dropped the A-bomb codenamed Little Boy on Hiroshima. 80,000 people lost their lives as a direct result of the blast and a further 60000 died within the year from the effects. If we dropped Doran from the same height would the impact wipe out Inverness?
  5. Badmington, Judo and Wrestling for me. I did play a bit of badmington in my young years but I couldnt fight a fly
  6. Another gold in girls visually impared 100m run takes our total to equal previous record medal haul. The last haul of 33 medals was in Edinburgh in 86. Back then the games were boycotted by the African nations.
  7. So who's all heading for this one?
  8. After a gold in the bowls we have now surpassed our all time record for gold medals. We are also only two medals of our all time record haul of all medals. We have a very good chance of adding quite a few more before the end of the games.
  9. I believe BigG is correct in that Birmingham operates a ticket entry system. I also think tickets can be purchased at the ticket office before the match. However, I'm taking no chances and have ordered mine online at link provided by CaleyD
  10. And since writing the above its now 40 medals and 16 gold for England against 22 medals and 9 gold for Scotland. Table here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/commonwealth-games/2014/medals/countries
  11. Checked it and England with a population of 53 million have 38 medals so far. 14 of them gold. Scotland with a population of 5.3 million have 20 medals so far. 8 of them gold. I think the scottish press have every right to make proud comment.
  12. Sam Winnal made three appearances and done nothing for us. I think that in the short while Winnal was with us TB selected the on form strikers. Tade and Foran. Rory McAllister is, in your words, 'a beast of a striker' 33 in 35 games last season for Peterhead. We didn't keep him either. Winnal was on loan to us with over a year remaining at Wolves. Even if we had wanted him we couldn't have paid the fee at the time.
  13. Anglophobia is alive and kicking............................................in Mr Bannermans head only. My favourite was the black South African lassie near the end. She done that song better than many Scots professionals could. At the end of the day this ceremony, and the games, will be remembered by every nation for many years to come as the ceremony and games that welcomed each and all.
  14. What colour are the goalie shirts? Black kit_launch_thur_001.jpg Watch out for the kickback. Those three tops combined show a lot more black than blue. And even more red than white.
  15. Is it dearer? I thought the last one was also £45. As to your second statement I haven't noticed anyone other than you say we dont want it. Many have said what they would have preferred but I'd guess many of those will still buy this to support the club. Thirdly those people who want nothing to do with ICT. How many of them follow other pursuits and dont follow football of any kind?
  16. I would not have expected Flower of Scotland to be used as anthem for the opening ceremony as its the Commonwealth games and, rightly so, the only anthem should be that of the head of the Commonwealth. That said, what I seen of the opening ceremony, I thought was excellent. Yes there was the tartan and shortbread bits but the main message, which was put across in a very tasteful and subtle way, showed just how this country of ours should be portrayed. A country of passion and compassion. A country that welcomes and embraces all regardless of colour, race or creed. “Wi’ joy unfeigned brothers and sisters meet.” And the final plea for support of Unicef was a brilliant way to show us as a benevolent country.

  18. From Deveronvale website Deveronvale lost 3-0 to a strong ICT outfit in this evening's pre-season friendly. An own goal by Deveronvale's trialist on the stroke of half-time gave ICT the lead, and further goals from Christie and McKay completed the scoring for the visitors.
  19. Yep bears an uncanny similarity to this
  20. If weather stays fair was thinking of biking down. Whats best we to Bordesley avoiding city centre?
  21. And a BBQ and funfair pre match starting 12.45. Info here http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/1324-billy-holiday
  22. That would be ok till 2016 but then there wont be a union flag as we know it. Proposal after Indy
  23. I seem to remember Cove were awaiting planning permission for stadium at Calder Park. Did they get it? I also seen recently that Aberdeen council were seeking permission to build a new academy on same ground. Banks O Dee have a nice wee ground complete with 3G pitch.
  24. Nice to see them sticking to their policy of nurturing local talent. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28371176
