I will ignore the abusive remark from Laurence and say this. I would not have a problem with a football team GB provided it followed certain criterea. 1. The professional associations (FA's of England, Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales) have absolutely nothing to do with the organisation or team selection. They can, however, provide training and financial support. 2. Teams are made up from amatuer and junior leagues. 3. Numbers of players from each nation must, at a minimum, reflect similar percentages as population of each nation. 4. There must be no risk that the independence of each association is jeopordised. SAtisfy all the above and I see no reason why we can't have a team GB

Matchday Thread Motherwell -V- Inverness CT

From STV Sport Players receive a one-match suspension when they accumulate six yellow cards in league matches. A further game ban is applied for every six bookings thereafter, eg. two-game ban for 12, three-match suspension for 18. Bans kick in 14 days after the sixth yellow is shown. Cautions are not added to the record if a player is shown two yellow cards in one game. -

Warren will not be available. His punishment is two first team matches and not two SPFL first team matches. http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/Disciplinary/CurrentSuspensions/Season2014/15/PlayerSuspensions/LOS32%20%2826%20FEB%29%20CW.pdf After yesterdays game where are Devine, Draper and Tansey in totting up process -
Realistically only the Dundee teams can overtake us so top six is assured. On current form I believe we will reach thesplit in same position and with same points difference below us as now. How things pan out after the split is anyones guess but I expect us to finish third. I also expect us to capitalise on our cup chance and win it. I predict all sorts of records being broken this season.

But are they IN debt? They have £3 million of debts but so long as they are able to make the payments then they are not in debt. We are also a team who have loans etc so are we in debt?

Put Draper in the Latapy slot, Christie up front with Latapy behindhim and you've got a team -
I will be voting for what is best for Scotland regardless of how other parties would like me to vote. The way I see it Tories are for nobody but the rich. Labour are for nobody but themselves. Ukip is a dangerous vote as they ostracise a large portion of the country's population. Greens are too engrossed in the environment that they cant see the wood for the trees. Lib-Dem haven't a clue what their identity is and will bed anyone who offers them a little power. That only leaves the party who are doing a fantastic job of running Scotland.

The official Elgin City relegation thread
Alex MacLeod replied to AlexJones's topic in General Football
My understanding is that if a team feels it is not ready to move into SPFL they can relinquish their position to next in line. -
The sheep thing doesn't faze me in the slightest. After all its normally referred bythose of lowland persuasion who are embarassed to have ancestors responsible for shipping out good highland people to make way for woolly animals.

One man doesn't make a team and that team has lost it big time.

DU home to Partick, away to us and Celtic, home to County then a derby and home to Hamilton. Going on their current form I can see them only picking up 8 pts from those games. ICT away Motherwell, home DU, away Partick, home Dundee, away Aberdeen, home Celtic. Realistically I see 8 pts from these which would put us into the split still 7 above DU. For me third is what we hold onto and anything else is a bonus.

The lad wants to be a footballer and model. Yogi can do the football coaching but who at the club would you all suggest for the modelling aspect? Who's got the Charisma of Christie, the Chic of Shinnie, the Verve of Vincent, the Panache of Polworth or the Wow of Watkins?

Its all very well finding players but finding players that;ll fit into our system and budget is probably a different proposition. If the right person isavailable then get him on the books. If he's not then do the best with what we have. Under other managers we had a habit of paying wages forpeople who didn't have what we needed. Lets steer clear of doing that again. As to the game, I've only the press reports and twitter comments to go on but it seems like the ref has a lot to answer for as to how the game panned out. First yellow in forty seconds. Red within five minutes. The ref lost the plot and this seems to have affected the players composure. Still we can hold our heads high though. We are still in the mix with Aberdeen and Celtic, though I think the latter will start to expand their lead, and with eleven games to go we can stay where we are at least and move up to second at best. At times its frustrating but this has to go down as our best ever season and we still have a very real chance of THE cup.

I believe Ireland is aiming to achieve Test status by 2020 but I dont think Scotland have any plans for such. There's just not enough interest north of the border to make such viable.

We'd probably have to go far in the tournament before that happened! The English Premier League is ranked at no.2 by UEFA so clubs from there enter much later than SPFL teams! I did read that if Celtic beat Inter Milan, then in 2016/17 we (Scottish clubs) will get 5 teams in Europe for the following season. Maybe wrong, the whole system appears shrouded in secrecy! But, as much as it sometimes pains me, I support every Scottish team in Europe. To do otherwise is simply betraying your own club's future opportunities! The co-efficient at end of 14/15 season will determine places for 16/17 and 17/18. As it stands at this moment we are gauranteed 1 CL and 3 EL places but, as you say. Our co-efficient is 17.9 at the moment. 26.0 would give us an extra CL place. Its difficult to decypher the points criterea but I think Celtic would need to make last 8 to gain extra place

Could we make a big money star out of this player https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-brooklyn-beckham-set-released-arsenal-already-073602635--sow.html

Whats wrong with good old fashioned positions? Keeper Sweeper Centre Back-----Centre Back Right FullBack-----Stopper-----Left FullBack Defensive MidFielder Right MidFielder-----Centre MidFielder-----Left MidFielder Attacking MidFielder Right Forward-----Second Striker-----Left Forward Striker

Everyone who complains here and those who write to the local rags, and not forgetting CB, you are the people who voted in the idiots running the council. And if you didn't vote then you have no right to complain.

Is that not because they decided to build a centre of sporting excellence

Mr Bannerman loves to jump on oil price. Yes its low at the moment but on friday 6th Feb the price hit a low of $48. Two weeks since its hovering around $62. An increase of close on 30%. The American fracking companies have cut production due to break even prices. Other companies around the world are cutting back on development. Many speculators are buying up tanker loads of crude and storing them till price rises again. Result of all that will be a shortage of available feedstocks for refining so price will rise further. ENI the Italian state oil company and OPEC both predict that prices will continue to rise and will peak at closer to $200 in the next couple of years. As for the effects on the country, these wont change much. Oil companies operating in UK are taxed on the profits they make in this country and not on the barrel of production as is the case in Norway. Oil companies are cutting back on costs to try and maintain the profits for shareholders so, assuming they achieve that, they still make taxable profit similar to previous. The big concern for government, and the reason they provide exploration subsidies, is the number of people affected by cutbacks. These are the people paying regular taxes who may now need the state to pay them. So Charles, I'd suggest to you that, if you're going to babble a load of rubbish on a subject you don't have a clue about, you at least get a grasp of how things work. I also suggest that, given the negotiating timescale, the oil price would be back over $100 by the time full independence had come to fruition. I further suggest that it will come as a result of May elections 2015.

The only time we've ever had a deal of january window activity was to try and stave off relegation and that failed abysmally. It would have been great to have signed another striker but, in all honesty, how long would it have taken him to gel with the team and start to make a difference. Its still possible we could find a free agent but I'd much prefer we utilise what we have and play our strengths to whoever we can put up front. I know Fergie is young but he's been around the first team for a while now and has done a decent job in development league so I think he could well step up and be counted.
