Ach Mr Bannerman will never stop spouting anti-SNP drivel. At least the SNP continue to profess what they stand for. Unlike the other parties, who change their policies at the drop of a hat, the SNP continue, regardless of referendum result, to try and persuade the electorate that independence for Scotland is the way to achieve greater prosperity for our country. The referendum may well have been lost this time but thats not to say the same would happen again so we continue to fight for the ultimate goal. The way the other parties are showing their colours just now is playing right into our hands. Why are they constantly barraging the SNP? Because they are scared.

Personally I'd rather our game against DU was played on tuesday before cup game,if its to be played in that week, as a good pre-semi workout with enough time to address any problems.

Think that only applies to league games. BBC have listed Falkirk/Hibs for 3 pm saturday.

Matchday Thread Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers
Alex MacLeod replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
Well I travelled up for this game and had a couple of pre-matchpintsin Innes. Not a soul there that I knew and only a half dozen in bar. Think they were preparing for a pool match. Anyway I thought we played some very good football but we were struggling against a very strong defence. Raith never looked like doing any more than defend. I think they had one corner and no real attack in the whole game. Ofere had a good game but wasn't allowed to really perform. My MoM was Ryan Christie. Yes he skyed a few chances be he also put a number of good crosses into the box and created a few half chances for others. All in all Raith came here looking to stop us scoring in the hope of a replay in Kircaldy and they done a very good job of that for most of the game. The semi will be a different kettle of fish regardless of who we're up against but I believe if we continue to play like can then a final is there for the taking. -
Will the authorties of the world ever grow a pair and take action to stamp out this sort of thing. https://www.fanbookz.com/en/news/watch-watfords-forestieri-takes-embarrassing-dive?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Promoted%20tweet&utm_campaign=Forestieri%20dive

Just for you Scotty Caley Thistle assistant manager Russell Latapy has emerged as a candidate for the vacant manager’s position at Scottish Championship side Alloa. The job is available after Barry Smith resigned at the weekend in the wake of the 1-0 defeat by Dumbarton that saw the Wasps slip to second bottom and Latapy is a frontrunner. The 46-year-old moved to the Highlands in January of last year to be reunited with John Hughes, who he was assistant to when the duo worked at Falkirk. The 81-times capped Trinidad and Tobago international is believed to be keen to become a manager in his own right again after a two-year spell as the national manager of his home nation was ended in 2011. Alloa have placed assistant manager Paddy Connolly in interim charge as they begin their search for a new manager after Smith’s surprise move and Latapy is one of the names under consideration as they look to draw up a shortlist of candidates. Port of Spain-born Latapy, who was coaching with Portuguese side Boavista before joining Caley Thistle, had a long playing career in Portugal and Scotland where he turned out for Hibs, Rangers, Dundee United and the Bairns where he started coaching in 2006. Latapy’s link with Alloa comes as the Highlanders prepare for their rescheduled Scottish Cup quarter-final against Raith Rovers at Caledonian Stadium tonight. Saturday’s game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and Hughes is eager to get back to winning ways after a defeat at Motherwell in his side’s last outing. He said: “They are not a bad side. They are going well in the league and if there is any complacency whatsoever you just have to look at what they did in the last round. “I have had the opportunity to work with four or five of the players at Raith Rovers, so I know what they are going to bring. It could be one of our hardest matches of the season because of what is at stake. “I have emphasised to the players we have to be at our best and if we are then it is game on. I expect Raith to be organised and take the game to us.”

To your point about them being "as absolutely cr@p as that". I dont know a lot about cricket in Scotland so I'm not qualified to say whether they were or weren't cr@p. I do, however, think they have done well to have qualified for the competition the last five times. Winning the qualifiers on two of those occassions. I believe there's some thirty odd non Test nations who compete for four places so qualifying is an achievement in its own right. Scotland has only been a member of ICC since 1994 but were not eligible to enter competition till 1999. They do not have the advantage of playing Test cricket so are down there with the dysfunctional warzones of the world. Now to answer your last questions. I, as a paid up member of SNP, have no feelings one way or the other towards the successes or failures of a Scottish cricket team. I dont like the game, have no interest in it and couldn't care one way or the other who does or doesn't do well be they Scottish or Martian.

We could beat Sri Lanka and finish above England in table.

But there's more chance of you getting a lift in summer. More tourists on A9

Thank christ CB was never my english teacher but the only thing I'd counter in the statement above is "credit must be given to the SNP (SIC ) for spotting the political vacuum". I 'm more inclined to think the SNP realised the working classes needed representation.

Renegrade, I have to totally disagree. The wee teams are always a thorn in the side of the big so drawing DU could be a problem for us.

Just for clarity spring tides have nothing to do with the season of year. Its a spring tide this weekend but they occur every month, on the full moon and new moon. Twice a year there are very high spring tides. These occur when the new or full moon is at its closest to the earth. I believe this will only occur twice this year and niether of those times is this weekend so the claim of secont highest tide of year is false. The highest tide of this weekend will actually occur at 01:14 tomorrow morning. There was also same hieght tides in january and february. Long and short is heavy rain over a short period caused the call off.

I'd advocate summer football but the biggest problem is international competition every two years.

...he says after assuring us all that today's game was not under threat! I also believed the BBC weather forecast.

Considering SEPA has issued flood warnings for Ness Bridge to Friars Bridge, Harbour and South Kessock and Ness-Side then I hardly think the club or the groundsman can be blamed for heavy rains. As for summer football, yes the season would just be starting but the ground wouldn't have been played on for last couple of months so wouldn't be as compacted as it is now so drainage would be better.

I wouldn't say the surge in support for SNP will decide the outcome so much as the slow, painful demise of the party for the working man. Remember them? The party built from the blood, sweat and blisters of the UK's shipbuilders, steelworkers, miners.....oh wait!! there's none of them left now. And very soon there won't be a Labour party.

Who did you follow when you supported Caley ? Bjorg, Conners, Yvvonne Goolagong ? Are you still keen on tennis these days ? Someones showing there age here. Evonne Goolagong Cawley is even older than I am. Did you know she was a finalist in 18 grand slams, winning seven, but never won Wimbeldon singles.

Not been heard of in a long while. I think he's seen the light though. I don't, however, believe he or Shaun would have been more than a twinkle when Caley last played. Eh! Mr Mahon.

If memory serves correct Tulloch are the trustee's of the trust that took over the stadium debt. I believe the club pay rental to the trust. I wonder if the security on the debt was limited to the three stands only and not the ground or west terrace.

Charles you really do show your true colours at times when making comment especially in your last sentence which in my opinion borders on sectarianism. Can I just point out that not all Catholics are Celtic fans just as not all Celtic fans are Catholic.

I think theres a few things working here. Lib Dems will be punished for getting into bed with the wrong partners. Those living north of the border have shown for years they dont want or need a Tory government and current austerity rules are not helping that cause. Mostly though I think that the failings of Labour in Scotland are down to yesterday politics. The Scottish electorate have seen how Labour ran the country and they have seen how SNP run the country. Labour cannot admit that they didn't do a good job. They dont have a plan for the future and continue to harp on about what has gone by than by what can be. The modern day electorate takes more interest and is bored by the yesterday politics preferring instead a more visionary attitude to the happenings within the country. Labour, Lib Dem take note.....the betterment of the future country is more important than petty bickering on what has been and gone.
