  1. Nobody suspended this week. Drapes is on 5 and Tansey 4 Drapes on 6 now
  2. Are there any other ex-ICT players who have won a national league title? Mark Brown
  3. Nobody suspended this week. Drapes is on 5 and Tansey 4
  4. It is very easy to take a figure out of a report and claim it to be a funding cut. How much of this funding cut is because cost of some services have come down? For example the SG is puting funds into smoking and alcohol/drug abuse initiatives, including financial rewards to those who quit smoking. Those initiatives are set to reduce the numbers being treated for smoking and alcohol/drug related illness thus reducing costs to NHS Scotland. As for financial constraints NHS Highland is no different to any other health board. Many of those constraints could have been addressed had previous governments not put in place systems of control of health boards whereby the people running them take a large amount of the funds in salaries. Get back to the days of matrons and dedicated nurses and doctors running the services and we'll get back to a financially sound health service.
  5. Maybe not so strange. It could well be that the Hamilton initiative is a much better proposition. All those parents out there who'd like to go but couldn't afford to take the child can now get free U-16's and there should be plenty adults that could take the extra U-16 in so maybe this top of the table incentive will make a better pay off.
  6. For those facts to be a reflection of form Yogi has 16 games left to better Butchers results.
  7. One or two interesting pics here http://www.ambaile.org.uk/en/item/item_photograph.jsp?item_id=10269
  8. This is the gasometer which in IHE's pic is next to the tower block that was probably the gasworks.
  9. Charles the SNP will scrap the local council tax in favour of a fairer local income tax which will mean that you, on your pension, will pay less than high earners.
  10. I'm away from this site for a while and still the same arguement roars on. The referendum has passed and the result, reluctantly, accepted by most voters. What happens next remains to be seen but it should not be debated on this thread. My intention, is opening this thread, was to debate what an SNP administration has done for the Highlands. It was not intended to promote or continue the Doofers Dad / Oddquine spats from another thread so pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaasssse can we stay on topic.
  11. People are becoming disinterested in football. Thats probably the long and short of it. Yesterday I was surprised to find there are still plenty tickets available for Scotland v England. A few years ago they'd all have been taken up by SSC members. We can all provide reasons of varying degrees for this but I think money is the primary factor.
  12. yes Charles, once again we must bow to your superior intellect. Please share some of your wisdom and tell us what other political parties have done for you and me that the SNP haven't. I'll help you along here. Tories - sent our soldiers to their deaths in wars we didn't need to be involved in. Labour - destroyed our heavy industry and left many destitute. Lib-Dems - dont think they've ever done anything. SNP - well they should be shot. After all they've had the audacity to run our country better than any other party before them. And I include the disasterous years when it was Secretary of State who had the control.
  13. I travel on the A9 north of Perth a lot, usually just as far as Dalwhinnie on route to Fort William but also into Inverness, and no matter what time of day or what traffic / roadworks conditions it generally takes the same time. The ASC's will make no difference to the time it takes. Its always been a bugbear of mine the people who complain about speed camera's / traps of any type. They are there to try and get people to comply with the law. You break the law and get caught then accept the consequenses and stop moaning.
  14. Never realised international clearance was required between EFA and SFA
  15. Dont have a clue how this all works but how often are clubs assessed. Do they request to be assessed or what
  16. Not at all. Charles has no schoolkids to bully and harass any more so he comes here and picks on all us oldies instead
  17. 35,000 at hampden on saturday says it all for the state of Scottish football and the low crowds.
  18. This one is gonna be a lot harder but here goes Sneckboy.
  19. Only just had a chance to read through this thread and gave up after a few of CB'c "if it doesn't affect me I'll slag it off" comments. The fact is Scarlet that this is the first stage of the A96 dualling project. This stage, Inverness to other side of Nairn, is the only part that directly involves Highland Council at the planning phase. the whole road / project is about improving the links between two of Scotlands cities. Much as the A9 project will do. That will benifit Inverness in the long term simply because reductions in travel times can promote new business. there is nothing sinister in the plans though CB may find otherwise.
  20. Dont hold with that statement Sneckboy. I think both Highland and Lowland teams are on a par with each other. There are only three lowland teams through so far. Two from the east and one from the west. Had Bo'ness had a better class of draw than Culter then I doubt they'd have progressed. Hurlford were a bit of a surprise. Not one of the more prominent of East League teams.
  21. Here's Prediction 2 Three games still to be played and only two wrong so far this round.
  22. Looking above midweek games are not popular but weekends are ok so I'd expect a crowd of 5000+. Indications from away ticket sales suggest it will be less. Think the waning novelty factor and the number of games played over the last two seasons will affect crowds.
  23. Skysports 2. Good excuse for a sunday lunchtime in the pub to recover from the early morning kirk service
  24. This thread started out as one of debate but has since deteriorated into one of abuse and very infantile comments among a handful of people who cant come to terms with the reforendum outcome are the likely future of UK. the gerenal consensus of the moderators is to close it. Therefore this thread is now closed.
  25. Only Celtic cat A match http://ictfc.com/matches/tickets/ticket-prices
