CC to go in the summer
The mole has spoken. The journalists have made up the rest. The fans have made their points. And now Mr Savage has publicly expressed support for the management team and acknowledged what is needed to take this team forward. Personnally I think now would be a good time to let the various threads die and to get behind the team for the next eight games.

Rory's chance to shine
Scotland U20 team takes on Canada tomorrow and next Tuesday. I for one will be keeping an eye on those fixtures with the hope of getting some feedback on how our Rory performs. Good luck to him and all the squad.

Post Split Matches
If there hadn't been a split the fixtures would be 1. V St Mirren (A) 2. V Motherwell (H) 3. V Dundee Utd (A) 4. V Dunfermline (A) 5. V Falkirk (A) Last season we had to play three times away to both Livi and Dunfermline so if we substitute St M for Livi that game should be at home as should the Dunfermline game. So two away and three home. Unfortunately the falkirk game will be away which is a bit of a headache for our wonderful Supporters Club committee. Whatever the permutation the split is not fair to all teams, especially where long distance travel is involved.

Vote of Confidence in Charlie Christie
Clacher, I wasnt referring to players who you have seen as being gash all season. I'm referring to the ones who performed exceptionally well for this club up until they were ignored, or not allowed to leave at the last transfer window. I'm talking about the players who went undefeated in sixteen out of eighteen straight league games after last seasons split. Was the same man in charge then. Of course all thats forgotten now cos the OF fan brain takes over.

Vote of Confidence in Charlie Christie
Inexperienced manager??? Dont recall our last two having any experience yet they are seen as icons by some. A number of people have spouted of about how CC cant get the best from the players. Do they know for a fact that that is the case or is it just supposition. Has anyone stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, its the players who dont want to perform for reasons that the manager has no control over. No, probably not. That would be too sensible and, personally, I have to question the sense of some posters on here.

Harry, I agree with everything you've said :025:

Vote of Confidence in Charlie Christie
It is my honest opinion that Charlie Christie is capable of taking our team forward. I believe that, given the resources and the boardroom support he can build his own, successful, team. I believe he should be given the chance to show what he can do and I believe the fans of this club should give him the support and encouragement needed to achieve this.

It's all Christie's fault...
If he left right now then I dont think so but give hime another season and maybe. But, how often have we seen managers fail at a particular club, find another willing to give them a chance, and go on to glory.

Free Passes
Hats of to you McB Just to twist this round to an adult perspective though. There are people attached to ICT who have been known to hand out complimentary tickets from time to time and my wife and I have been honoured on a couple of occassions to have been given tickets. So are you going to be miffed about that? We dont have season tickets because we cant make every home game and it seems pointless to me to tie up seats that can be better used. So we have to pay the full asking price on the day. We get to as many games as we can though, probably about 50% of home, and spend the best part of £100 each time with tickets, travel and food. Often we have a hotel to pay as well. Thats our choice so when a freebie comes along we're over the moon. I dont know what the take up on free child tickets was but I do know of one family who's parent had to go along for the first time because his under 12 child got a freebie. The parent had to pay the full gate price. So the club, by giving up a free seat actually gained the cost of a seat.

Dargo poised
On another thread people have been calling for Dods to be sidelined because he's moving. Should Dargo be the same? What Dargo is saying is 'I'm waiting to see if someone else wants me, if they dont I might stay'. How can any management team plan for the future with attitudes like that?

It's all Christie's fault...
IHE, who did brew attract, apart from Craig Dargo (he who came here because nobody else wanted him cos of his injury record and who now will not re-sign cos he's waiting to see what better offer will come his way) and half a dozen of our youth players. The management team at ICT did not spend, apart from Markus, in the January window because there was nobody of the right caliber available at the price they could afford. People are very good at taking part of a statement and twisting it to make out the narrator said something different. What was said was along the lines of 'we failed to secure the player we were after and the type of player we would like is not available so we have decided to put faith in our younger players and save the available funds till the next window...........' Sadly the first part of the statement is always omitted.

It's all Christie's fault...
Excellent post 1980. I do have one question however. Put yourself in the shoes of an ICT manager. One saturday you walk out of the tunnel to to noise of 5000 fans in the home stands. Two weeks later you walk out to a near silent 3000ish and all you can hear during the match is the same one or two voices constantly critising whats happening on the park. How would you feel?

It's all Christie's fault...
Dead-ball, how the **** can you compare the Highlands with Belgium. Population of highland region 460,000. population of Belgium 9.3 million. Yes, one day in the future their may be a fanbase of 10,000 but not until the OF disappears as the first choice team for the majority of people living in the highlands. One of the big problems I see, is not the club, but some of the fans. They seem to think we should have a god given right to win everything. Are the teams who have been established for over a hundred years supposed to lie down and let us win. We've gone from highland league to SPL in ten years. We've been lucky in that we had a fairly easy ride to get here. We now need to concentrate on staying in this league and build year on year.

East Stirling to be kicked out?
I would think Spartans would be a good bet to replace the Shire

positive note - a big blonde ray of hope?
If he turns out half as good as his brother was he'll do for me.

It's all Christie's fault...
Of course Stan!! there are so many class strikers without a club at the moment that they are tripping over each other to come to Inverness. Dont you honestly think that if a suitable person was available we would have ignored him. I know for a fact that the club tried to get someone but we couldn't afford their demands.

vs Falkirk
Think, if you check more closely Johndo, you may find the 'wee man' might turn out to be a wee wuman.
-
It's all Christie's fault...
Is it the manager thats not able to attract players or is it the club. We pay them peanuts so they dont want to stay. Mark Brown, Darren Dods, Craig Dargo. They came here because their careers were on a downward spiral and this club, getting where we had, was a place to ressurrect and showcase themselves. Now they can move on to better money. Others in the squad see they can earn more elsewhere so hold out on signing new contracts. Unrest about terms and conditions brings unrest on the field. The players who tend to perform reasonably well on a consistant basis are the few who have ICT in their vains and no intention of moving on. We will not attract good players unless we can pay them more.

Those children, such as my grandson, who come to the odd game and have to pay the full child price should maybe complain that, because yours have a cut price entry, they should be the same.
