  1. Of course it was on the table...how could it have been rejected if it wasn't? Did they reject the proposals or did they ignore them on the day? Did they realise that those proposals were put in front of them to attempt to sway judgement on Rangers? My point is those proposals should not have been handed to SFL alone but sent to all SFA registered clubs to allow them all to digest the content and then look at how best to make the way forward a sensible and productive one.
  2. I dont think that was what was being voted on. I think that was put out two days before the meeting as an attempted sweetener. That whole statement talks about puting together a working party to look at league reconstruction. The two votes on the table were 'to allow Rangers into SFL' and 'which league they should be put in'. The SFL couldn't alone vote on the linked proposals as these need to be agreed by all registered football clubs in the country. The proposal will effect the junior leagues as well as the 42 senior clubs so cannot be voted on by only the SFL
  3. At the end of the day Rangers went bust. There is no other football association in the world that would have gone to such lengths to save a team with no money and such large debts coupled with operating outside the rules.
  4. And maybe your username will reappear as a Newco
  5. Dear Mr Cameron, It would appear, looking at comments from Chairmen such as that at Annan and looking on social networking sites, that you have made a big error of judgement in your comments to the press today. Your comments, though they may have been good intentioned, make the world look at the SPL Chairmen, including yourself, in a very different light. That statement has come across like the SPL voted Rangers out but that they fully expected that they could buy the services of the SFL, under the misled guidance of Messrs Regan and Doncaster, to get Rangers into the second tier. Mr Cameron I am enclined to think that this display of self preservation and of the desperation for Rangers in the SPL by the teams of the SPL has not only expanded the gulf between SPL and SFL but has put the final nail in the coffin of the current set up within Scottish Football. In one breath the SPL chairmen are voting, not just because of fan pressure but for Sporting Integrity yet behind the scenes they are chucking that self same Sporting Integrity out the window to try and put pressure on the SFL teams. Football in Scotland can be saved and I would urge all clubs to work together to save it. It can be done but only by first acknowledging that all forty two clubs have a say in it and by disbanding the elitest group that care for no other than themselves. The next step is to get rid of those within the Hierarchy of SPL and SFA and of bringing in a true leader, under the auspices of one governing body, who can take our game to a new, more secure and sensible level. Finally I suggest that those who control our game should never underestimate the effects of fan power. Fan power can make or break a club and, following on from your statement tonight, fans of ICT are indicating that they may prefer a shopping trip with the wife on a saturday afternoon ahead of supporting the team. 6. He was on Scotland Tonight with Archie MacRanger last night and came across as being very sensible in his outlook of our game.
  7. This SPL 2 is going to look really strange with only one team in it.
  8. Sorry bish but I cant agree with the last part of your statement. Those at Hearts who have been released were on close to 5 grand a week. Blackie left us to go there for 3 grand. Our top earners are on about a grand, maybe a little more. I dont know what Butcher and Malpas are on but we were never renowned for paying big wages so I cant really see that we could cut back too much and remain competitive. And therein lies the problem. We struggle to survive cos we cant afford quality and try and create something around a mix of youth and lower league of England players. It scraped us survival last season and it may do again this season. Trouble is that the quality on offer has made many people think again about what they want to spend their hard earned on.
  9. Of the twelve clubs in SPL for this season five still remember how to survive without tv monies. Each of those clubs are capable of surviving this next season. As far as I'm aware the current contract with Sky and with Clydesdale will continue for this season. Clydesdale are pulling out. Sky may renegotiate but the fact on that is that we as Scottish Football should be standing up to Sky and asking for our fair share, in proportion to what the English game gets. Even the Championship and Div 1 get more tv money than Scotland. Note the emphasis has always been on Sky and no mention of the other partners of the SPL, including the latest deal with Weatherseal. The real reason that erses are twitching at Hampden, and the real reason there was such a public campaign by those people to try and bully the SFL into accepting Rangers in div 1, has nothing to do with how it affects Scottish Football and more to do with how it affects Celtic. That club has the most to lose. They lose their derbies. They may well even lose many of the joint sponsorship deals they made with Rangers. What got us into this mess??? Greed! Greed on the part of the OF. Greed on the part of the CEO's and their consorts and greed on the part of all the initial ten clubs who chose to put Scottish football in jeopardy when they decided on their breakaway league. What ICT need to do now is get the begging bowl out. Many fans have indicated they'd help out if they can. Get a real committment from those who can help. I'd go as far in that as to reduce security costs by having volunteers to the home fan crowd control. I'd look at having volunteer's for hospitality duties. For bar duties. Get shot of the pie contract and have volunteers man the booths. Volunteers on the gates. There are many ways cost can be cut but that needs committment. Personally I'd commit to doing something on matchday if I knew that I could be available. Unfortunately, but because money talks, I dont even know if I'll get use of my two season tickets.
  10. http://www.highland-news.co.uk/News/ICT-chairman-blasts-newco-decision-a-sad-day-for-Scottish-football-13072012.htm All clubs are going to have to look at the consequences of their actions. I'm quite sure Kenny will not be the only chairman calling a board meeting over this weekend. If SPL clubs believed the ramblings of Regan and Doncaster then they are just as guilty of the bullying of the lower league teams. The way forward is to get people in who can market our game. Get all parties working together under one executive and do the right thing to improve our game. The time for change is long overdue. Now is the time to act. What I wonder though, in the interests of sporting integrity, has there been things going on behind the scenes at Hampden thinking it would be easy to persuade SFL to vote for Div 1 entry? Were the SPL chairmen easy about voting Rangers out of SPL because someone persuaded them that SFL was in their back pocket? Have the hopes of the SPL chairmen backfired and if they have then wheres the sporting integrity in that? For all clubs outside Celtic there is now a chance to show how competitive they can be. There is a real chance that any one of them can achieve second place and the vast share of the pot that that will bring.
  11. Alex Thomsons blog today makes even more interesting reading. Could it be construed that there is corruption within Scottish football I wonder? http://blogs.channel4.com/alex-thomsons-view/football-chairmen-living-fairytale-world/2265
  12. Jesus will those folk ever wake up. Scottish football is crying out for a united body, not further division. To change things to the way they should be will take two or three seasons. By that time The Rangers may be in a position to join the top league but without the control they and Celtic have had over every other team.
  13. If Doncaster, Regan and Co have any sence at all they will leave things as are and work towards proper league reconstruction over the next couple of years. If they cant see that as being the correct way then its time for them to go. Only six out of 42 clubs in Scotland have voted with Rangers or abstained from voting. 36 club chairmen are in agreement on how things should by. Thats one hell of a vote of no confidence in those running our game.
  14. Are you related to the great Seer Johndo McKenzie? You were in Inverness in 2008 and managed to see the first three games of 2012-2013 season. Considering we haven't had the foresite to see those games yet can you tell us who will win and will we do well.
  15. Cheapskate or just cheeky???? http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/4426704/CaleyThistle-keeper-Antonio-Reguero-hitched-a-lift-to-training-in-a-police-car.html
  16. When an institution is run by idiots idiotic suggestions and decisions come to the fore.
  17. Medicals dont predict injury. That said it seems that footballers get injured very easily nowadays. We are not the only club that has problems. I just wonder what is so different about the way they train and warm up etc. Are gyms a problem? I played shinty. The only injuries I succumbed to were due to contact with a stick. I didnt go to the gym. I didnt do extensive fitness training. I still managed to go out on the lash on a friday night then play a full game on saturday. Is the intensive training of the bodern day footballer actually weakening muscle? Is the footwear maybe the problem?
  18. They also need subscribers
  19. There are actually schemes in place were the solar panels cost nothing, Trouble is we in Scotland lack the one thing that makes the schemes work...............................................................................Sunshine!!! What about the trust raises funds to seat the whole of the west terracing so we could sell those seats to the Tics of the world.
  20. Where in my comment have I dismissed anything. I'm just questioning how your idea would work.
  21. That was pretty much it AF. There is a very big gulf between 2nd place and third.
  22. According to SPL rule C4 all clubs get an equal share of 48% of the total pot after expenses and other payouts. The remaining 52% is then split depending on league position with 17% of that going to 1st place and 0.5% to last place. This total pot is all monies brought into the SPL by sponsorship and TV rights http://www.scotprem.com/content/mediaassets/doc/RULES%20EFFECTIVE%201%20JULY%202012.pdf.
  23. I think most folk can see where your coming from Don but I cant see how it would work. At the moment, according to ticketmaster, there are 462 available seats in the main stand, excluding wings. There are 555 season tickets sold in North stand. There are many more fans who prefer to pay on the day. Where would you put all the home fans? Also what would be the cost of the additional police and security needed to look after two stands to ensure segregation?
  24. Depends on how much SKY are prepared to pay. And if they are not prepared to pay then how many customers are they prepared to lose.
  25. When?? What I've seen is that Rangers still hold the ICT record attendances.
