  1. He was a fekkin idiot and I hope Butcher makes him suffer till christmas.
  2. The Army have just moved in to RAF Kinloss and are really making an effort to integrate in to the local community - I hope they get some as well, especially the troops' kids. "We're also mindful that 39 Engineers is the new regiment which has moved in at Kinloss and we've extended an opportunity for many of them to watch the Killie game."
  3. Sorry mate but I really think your in some sort of dream world. Glass half empty is relegation. Glass half full is survival. We are, and always will be, a small team from a small city many miles from the heart of Scottish football. We went against all odds to get to SPL. We dont have the finances to make high league positions a goal but by f*ck we will do our best. Every season anything above eleventh will be a bonus.
  4. I think we'll see the same starting line-up as at Paisley
  5. A suggestion to jugs daughter and to the many others who have given up their ST's because they cant get to as many matches. What about getting together with others in the same boat and share a ticket. Work out a rota system for the matchdays each of you can get to. This could work with interested work colleagues who cover each other and have different days off.
  6. Must say there's a lot of positives coming through just now. Free matchday tickets and season tickets to the Black Watch to welcome them to Inverness has to get some interest from the barracks. Making some hospitality days accessible to those who otherwise couldn't afford it. Magazines. All good for the image of the club and hopefully a boost to the finances will come of it.
  7. We tried that in a couple of town centre shops but it wasn't successful. Whether County find the same problems as we had remains to be seen.
  8. Unlike the fantastic St Mirren stewards who let us stand and enjoy ourselves..........at least until one lad took his shirt off when we discovered the newest SPL rule. Fans are not allowed to bare their torso. Either that or the female steward in question was just jealous that the lad had a better looking chest than she had.

Shooting was once a very successful sport in UK. Even in Scotland there were many gun clubs. Sadly, following the Dunblane massacre, and the very extreme laws that came about about owning and keeping weapons and ammunition many of the shooters and clubs gave up. The cost of security alone became too much. That coupled with the police having the power to check your guns at any time of day or night destroyed what was a very enjoyable sport. I had air rifles and shotguns since I was twelve and I loved the sport but became one of those totally disheartened by the over the top outcry to a madman. It was easier just to give up than argue the case that no amount of legislation will prevent a madman carrying out atrocities. Even now people try and keep the sport low key. The young lad Robert Wilson who got Britians only medal, gold in the double trap event, had barely more than a mention in the press.
  10. Something that not many people seem to know or choose to ignore. Pavement's are not built to take vehicle weights. Many pavements have utility services a foot or two below them. If you drive onto the pavement and as a result damage was done to any of those services then you could find yourself forking out for the repair costs.
  11. Below is the full list of squad numbers as registered with SPL. Sorry Laurence but you are wrong on many counts and possibly blinded by the anti independence propoganda. Oil of the Scottish coasts will not run out in the next 100 years. The north sea has quite a few new developments coming onstream now and there are still many untapped areas. The west of Shetland and Atlantic developments are being progressed and there's a lot to be found in those deep water regions. Regions that are only coming to the fore now as deep water drilling technology changes. Scotland is also at the forefront in research and development of a number of renewable energy projects. There is a lot of tax revenue from oil for a lot of years to come. There are also many thousands employed in the industry who are high end tax payers and who spend their money in Scotland. Which brings me to your point on income tax. At the moment everyone in UK who pays tax pays it to a central fund regardless of which office handles their accounts. In an independent environment they would pay their taxes in the country they resided in. Why would the Bank of England need to support a Scottish pound? Scotland still gaurantee's its currency in sterling silver. The pound would remain though and it would be supported by England for one very simple reason. The majority of trade in Britian crosses the border of Scotland and England in both directions. One of our biggest foriegn exports is whiskey. To produce it we import a lot of our barley from south of the border. There are many other examples of cross border trade and many billions of pounds worth so yes the Scottish pound will be as important to England as the English one will be to the Scots. Bottom line is England dont want the breakaway because they know we will be very wealthy while they lose wealth. As for the banks, perhaps if you take your rose coloured specs of you'd see that many banks are having problems, including English ones. Oh and the Commonwealth games will be paid for from the Scottish government. Lottery monies. Broadcasting rights. City of Glasgow and the sell on of the many properties being built in the east end of Glasgow and they wont go vastly over budget as in the case of Londons Olympics.
  13. How do you infer from the rules that it is a red card? If deemed to be violent conduct its a straight red.
  14. Alex MacLeod replied to Laurence's topic in Other Sports
Yes Charles and if you went deeper into the data and download the full database you'll see that those who were part of a team have been credited with part of a medal.
  15. If Guy lashed out at all, whether at the ball or the man, then its a straight red for violent conduct. The ref is looking directly at the goings on and Guy does not protest but walks straight off.
  16. Very difficult to see much from that clip but look at ref. he is watching and making his way towards players when draper goes down so he does see very well whats gone on.
  17. Final point to renegade. This is not Butcher and Malpas last season. They are contracted till summer 2014. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/15204054
  18. According to SFA website he was suspended for one game. http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/Disciplinary/CurrentSuspensions/Season2012/13/July2012/PlayerSuspensions/LOS01%2827-JUL%29.pdf
  19. From what I can see in the clip Draper was holding onto the ball. The St Mirren player tried to punch it out of Drapers hand. The ball goes up and catches the lad under the chin. Notice also the player doesn't protest. The ball hitting Drapers face could be construed as accidental but the other guy did throw a punch and thats what the ref saw.

    Poetic licence dear boy

Charles. 10% of team GB are Scots yet over 50% of the medals won for the team have been won by Scots.
  22. Alex MacLeod replied to Laurence's topic in Other Sports
And another gold to a Scot. Well done Murray
  23. From what I've seen so far this season those of you who've opted out because of entertainment factors are going to miss out. Get your ST's and prepare to be happy.
