  1. Perspective time .... The CC that had lost at home to Rangers, and lost 2-1 away to Well and St Mirren before resigning. He may have had us at the bottom but 3 games is not enough time to extrapolate a season long prediction. He did ok the previous season and there was no reason to imagine he wouldnt have done ok if he had continued. Having said that ... agree with you 100% about Owen Coyle. I personally never thought CC was ready for the managers job, and he frequently showed that. I can still remember being turned over at home by the Dunfermline team that were eventually relegated. Its a shame, as in the long term I saw CC as potentially an excellent manager, but he was thrown in at the deep end, and is now never likely to return to caoching.
  2. Amen to that. I was told by some that I wouldn't be missed for not renewing my season ticket. You weren't :thumb04:
  3. You mean the 10cc that had us bottom of the league with no points . But I agree 200% on Owen Coyle. I knew how little ambition this board really had when they decided against pulling the finger out for the most promising young manager in Scotland, despite St Johnstone saying he could go for the right price. And before anyone says the board were not in a financial position to do so, the Mark Brown cash should still have been available at this time. We were balancing the books without it, and had just let 3 of our highest earners go.
  4. Proctor is an excellent right back.
  5. Eh? Join the CTO forum and in your first post 15 minutes later call for the manager's head? Why should we listen to you? Get a few posts under your belt before you start asking for people to lose their jobs. Eh? His point is less valid because his post count is low?
  6. :015: :thumb04: :018: ;) Good effort from those there, we really shouldn't have to pay to be put through this. Hopefully the c**ts gone soon enough. Brewster, Get to F**k Brewster ia tactically inept, but he is not a "c**t."
  7. Darren Mackie just scored an excellent goal. I feel ill.
  8. These guys were indeed slightly built, however, as an example, Larsson was rumoured to be doing weight training three times a week at his peak. He held the ball up very well. A lot of the others compensated for lack of build with pace. Wyness was neither strong nor quick. He was simply very skillful.
  9. May I ask which strikers?
  10. 1) No 'sting in his shot' aged 29. Entering the realms of fantasy now :thumb04: :018: What? Just quoting what you said Chris! Sounds a bit daft to me....... Yes I did :015: Fair enuff. Respect ;) Is Denzil not 31 now? And I can't remember a single occasion last season where Denzil managed to put any thump in his shot. You yourself have played amateurs, probably at a much higher level then myself and will know that a striker with a thunderous drive has a massive advantage over one that can't exert a decent amount of power. Don't get me wrong, I've no doubt that Denzil is still an excellent technical player, and probably is benefitting from a manager with a bit of faith (we all know that Denzil is a confidence player) however I just don't think he's physically strong enough for the SPL.
  11. 1) No 'sting in his shot' aged 29. Entering the realms of fantasy now :thumb04: :018: ;) What? 3) You never went either, did you? Yes I did
  12. 1 goal I don't want to go over old ground, but the point about Dennis is that he had agreed a contract and it had been unavailable for him to sign as arranged on the Friday and when he turned up to sign it on the Monday morning he was told that it had been withdrawn following a poor TEAM performance on the Saturday. 1 game doesn't make a player or a team. Watching some of Wyness' preformances last season was almost soul destryoing. The way such a legend was struggling to keep up with pace, huffing and puffing. He was, and still is, technically an excellent player. However he could no longer hold the ball up, beat his man for pace, win a ball in the air or even put any sting in his shot. I agree that Rankin, and to a lesser extent Wilson, should never have been let go so easily, but Wyness was no longer up to the physical nature of the SPL.
  13. He was our 3rd top scorer last season. The rest of the forwards must've been utterly woeful then Sounds about right.
  14. Wyness was nothing less than awful last season, bar one excellent preformance against Falkirk.

Have the board made it clear that he is staying? Could you please point me in the direction of that statement because I have missed it. I would like to retract all I have said about silence from the club if true. Pardon me, I was simply referring to the clubs plans to renew Brewster's contract. I agree, the silence from the club is defeaning, but it has been this way for a long time now.

Will you still be with him once the Dons thrash us on Saturday ? It has nothing to do with Brewster (who I have now conceded is not right for the job). The club have already made it clear that Brewster is staying. This kind of thing as Harry says can only affect the players already low confidence and morale, and put a gap between ourselves and the board, a gap that Scotty has worked so hard to bridge.

I'm with Harry on this one

McCoist was maybe not a world class player, but then neither was Shearer I spose. What he was was a world class finisher.

For future reference mate this kind of thing goes in the "All other football" board. IMO Ronaldo is almost unplayable. As for Scottish player, Kenny Daglish is the obvious answer, but Jimmy Johnstone is another option. Just now for us, probably Ian Black. Ever, Barry Robson was probably a better player, but nobody did more for the team than Dennis Wyness. He has scored close to 10 percent of our goals.

When I was only young it was the late 1980s and I was watching Highland League football like Caley v Rothes, Caley v Brora etc. so I suppose I can maybe appreciate where we are now more than fans of a younger generation than me. For an Inverness club to be even hovering around the bottom of the Premier League is pretty good considering our population. Just because you've been around longer than me, your say is more important is it? I'll have you know that I was a Caley fan to before the merger so you can shove your I can appreciate it more than the younger fans bullsh*t! :thumb04: Nowhere in his post did Caley say that his opinion was more valid then yours. He was simply pointing out that if you cast your mind back about 15 years, you would see where we have come from. We shouldn't be "hovering round the bottom" of anything. Believe it or not, we are better than that. We have no divine right to be better than anybody.

Most refreshing post on here for a while
  22. :o I am surprised that Wilson isn't being kept on in some kind of coaching capacity to be honest. Yup. Barry is no longer fit enough for the SPL, and wages need freed up. But surely a role could have been found within the club for such a faithful servant.
  23. Ryan Esson, Craig Dargo, Christian Kalvanes and Noel Hunt were not on trial.
  24. Agree, he no longer brings anything to the team, in his day he was creative yes, but none of his appearances this season suggest he is worthy of a contract. Should he stay as a coach, IMO yes, nobody knows the team better than Barry, and the players respect him (probably greater then they do Brew). Will he stay as a coach, probably not
  25. Yup, Duffy knows the Scottish game inside out. Think he would make an excellent coach.
