The statement reads: “The joint-administrators of Inverness Caledonian Thistle can confirm that a positive meeting with loan creditors, major shareholders and a former director of the club has taken place, resulting in heads of terms being agreed to facilitate the writing off of loans and the return of shares to the club. “This is conditional upon achieving a successful exit from administration and the club continuing to operate. “The BDO administrators have spent time re-engaging with a number of interested parties and are pleased to advise that discussions are ongoing with four to five parties regarding an offer for the club. This process will continue throughout April. “The administrators are delighted with these developments and are appreciative of the position taken by the loan creditors and major shareholders.”

I think the manager and team have done an incredible job in getting us into a position where we even have a fighting chance of avoiding relegation. 8th place felt like an impossibility after the points deduction and with Ferguson in charge. It doesn't feel right lumping any further expectations on top of that achievement and we're at the point where injuries and suspensions make it tough to predict based on previous form for any team. I'll predict 7th but will be delighted with 8th.

Alan Savage came straight out after the meeting and spoke to the press asking for anyone interested in joining his consortium to come forward. That doesn't suggest anyone else around the table was enthusiastic about doing so. I definitely don't have any inside track. I try and look at the information available and see how it fits together. That normally involves ignoring everything other than direct citations in the press etc. as it can often muddy the waters. I get why everyone is praising Alan Savage as the saviour but there's still, in my mind, a big question as to whether his pushing for administration was the cause of talks breaking down last August or the result of it. It concerns me that may have been his first act of brinkmanship in all of this. We were promised transparency but things are still very far from clear.

Where is the idea coming from that the consortium will be made up from those at the meeting last week? In theory it might sound good but in reality these guys haven't been able to get along and work together the last 30 years so can't see them managing that now. If it gets us out of admin and allows a sale to a new person or group afterwards then maybe but they had the chance to do that last August and avoid the whole **** show but didn't do it.

I was comparing his conversion rate with a player who plays/ed a similar role, albeit it a far superior level. There are players with percentages in the 80s and 90s, so neither Billy or Messi would be considered world class penalty takers. I get that he's not the player he was and I have no doubt he knows that better than any of us. I wish we had the squad to better utilise more of his smarts and relied less on his legs. As just mentioned above the ball he supplied for our goal was top drawer. I'm not going to say anything like maybe if we got behind him more he'd maybe be better. Crowds at games are very supportive of the team when they are on the park. It is what it is but I don't like the singling out of players and blaming them for a defeat or relegation or whatever. Yesterday he set up the goal without which we'd have lost. Bit more credit/recognition for that from some to balance the criticism would feel better.

Overhead a conversation today where someone seemed fairly certain that as we're in admin then even players contracted beyond the end of the season are allowed to talk to other clubs and could choose to leave.
-
If someone else had taken it and missed then fans would be shouting and asking why our all time top goalscorer hasn't taken it. Such is the nature of football fans. Saw a post on X saying Billy had scored 75% of all penalties ever taken for us. Did a little googling and for context that puts him up there with players like Messi from the penalty spot.

For me it will be what it will be. I trust that the players will give it their best shot regardless of what's going on off the field. I also believe that whilst they don't always perform to the best of their ability they do always give their best effort. Then there's times when results seem to be decided by the universe and performance (good or bad) doesn't seem to play much of a part in it. lol

Looking forward to parking all the off field stuff and just cheering on the team. Reviews of the stand in keeper look good and wishing Musa all the best on international duty. Trying to drag a Dundee Utd supporting work colleague along to support the clubs offer as well.
-
I didn't accuse anyone on here of anything and if you are desperate to see it then a look at some of the responses the club posts on X and Facebook is a good place to start.

Feels like the best thing Savage could do right now is get out of the middle of things and let the administrators do the job they are paid to do.

People are quite entitled to express disappointment at the result but that can be done without the nastiness and character attacks. You can say the team played poorly and talk about errors without broad sweeping statements suggesting they are useless. You can question whether the manager got the tactics right for one game without claiming he's entirely tactically unaware. Why does all decency and gratitude from some need to go out the window after a loss when the people involved have done way more right than wrong in the last 6 months or so?
-
Some of our fans really need to give their head a shake. Talk of 'we should have been doing this' or 'should be doing that' or 'our manager is tactically unaware'. Are you living in the real world? Read Roberts post above. We were dead and buried in October due to a truly inept manager the 15 point deduction no money and a variety of associated factors. The very fact we've managed to claw ourselves back to a position on the park where we even have hope at surviving in this league is a near miracle. Yet we have fans wanting to turn on those same coaches and players who have achieved that. Seriously? Some of the vitriol being spewed across social media is disgusting and a lot of it coming from so called diehard fans. Shameful.

Strange performance today. We were for from good but somehow creating chances and half chances. We didn't deserve a win but the loss feels hard to take. We know we are capable of better so just need to dust ourselves down and get ready to go again next week.
-
Great stuff, thanks for the quick reply.

It's us fans who are making the assumption he's not ready or able. Kell might think he is and there's no issue. I'm sure he'll get full support from most fans if he's selected.

Out of curiosity how many people can the bar take? Might it be worthwhile having a monthly quiz night or bingo or something? It could be done after a home game at say 6pm. Long enough to still cater for those wanting a quick drink and to see players before heading off but not so long a wait for those hanging about for the quiz/bingo/whatever. Charge a fiver and include a pie/sausage roll in the price.

Talking about this at work and ine of my nerdier colleagues seems to think we will be able to ask for an emergency loan because we don't have another senior keeper available who has played 5 full first team matches this season. As it's Musa's first call up it's not a scenario we'd have been expected to prepare for.

My comments on the match thread were not aimed at the loan players or downplaying their contribution. My issue is with people running football clubs who say one thing and do another.
-
Imagine how it may look to potential investors if we're selling them on the potential of the academy and building a team around it but then not demonstrating it. If we can't do it in League 1 then what's the chances of doing it if/when we climb any higher? We may have been able to play the 'poor club in admin' card to get favourable terms for loan players recently but that's not the basis for a successful business model going forward. I understand the pressure to avoid relegation and the impact the 15pt penalty will have huge baring at the moment but it doesn't change the fact we're being told one thing while doing another.

What a game and what a result. We've ground out a couple games recently but the team were on top for most of tonight's match and fully deserving of the win. 4 goals and 4 different scorers is great as well with Musa ensuring Stennie didn't take the shine off at the end by saving the penalty. Bavidge injury didn't look too bad and hoping his early removal was more precautionary than necessary. Need everyone to remain grounded going in to Saturday. While we should be looking ahead at the next team we also need to be mindful of the gap behind us. What we're doing is working and I'd hate to see us go gung ho and risk undoing the hard work so far. Isn't it incredible how a great game and result can ward off the cold. Gloves back on now for the rest of my walk home.

Not something to worry about until the club are in a position to be able to do anything about it. Totally out of our hands.

Saw somewhere that Don McNaughton had been doing some work at the club so there is definitely focus being given to the mental side of the game.
