Our squad next season
Overhead a conversation today where someone seemed fairly certain that as we're in admin then even players contracted beyond the end of the season are allowed to talk to other clubs and could choose to leave.

Jags v Wasps March2025
If someone else had taken it and missed then fans would be shouting and asking why our all time top goalscorer hasn't taken it. Such is the nature of football fans. Saw a post on X saying Billy had scored 75% of all penalties ever taken for us. Did a little googling and for context that puts him up there with players like Messi from the penalty spot.

Jags v Wasps March2025
For me it will be what it will be. I trust that the players will give it their best shot regardless of what's going on off the field. I also believe that whilst they don't always perform to the best of their ability they do always give their best effort. Then there's times when results seem to be decided by the universe and performance (good or bad) doesn't seem to play much of a part in it. lol

Jags v Wasps March2025
Looking forward to parking all the off field stuff and just cheering on the team. Reviews of the stand in keeper look good and wishing Musa all the best on international duty. Trying to drag a Dundee Utd supporting work colleague along to support the clubs offer as well.

Annan @ Home March2025
I didn't accuse anyone on here of anything and if you are desperate to see it then a look at some of the responses the club posts on X and Facebook is a good place to start.

Feels like the best thing Savage could do right now is get out of the middle of things and let the administrators do the job they are paid to do.

People are quite entitled to express disappointment at the result but that can be done without the nastiness and character attacks. You can say the team played poorly and talk about errors without broad sweeping statements suggesting they are useless. You can question whether the manager got the tactics right for one game without claiming he's entirely tactically unaware. Why does all decency and gratitude from some need to go out the window after a loss when the people involved have done way more right than wrong in the last 6 months or so?

Annan @ Home March2025
Some of our fans really need to give their head a shake. Talk of 'we should have been doing this' or 'should be doing that' or 'our manager is tactically unaware'. Are you living in the real world? Read Roberts post above. We were dead and buried in October due to a truly inept manager the 15 point deduction no money and a variety of associated factors. The very fact we've managed to claw ourselves back to a position on the park where we even have hope at surviving in this league is a near miracle. Yet we have fans wanting to turn on those same coaches and players who have achieved that. Seriously? Some of the vitriol being spewed across social media is disgusting and a lot of it coming from so called diehard fans. Shameful.

Annan @ Home March2025
Strange performance today. We were for from good but somehow creating chances and half chances. We didn't deserve a win but the loss feels hard to take. We know we are capable of better so just need to dust ourselves down and get ready to go again next week.

Great stuff, thanks for the quick reply.

Musa
It's us fans who are making the assumption he's not ready or able. Kell might think he is and there's no issue. I'm sure he'll get full support from most fans if he's selected.

Out of curiosity how many people can the bar take? Might it be worthwhile having a monthly quiz night or bingo or something? It could be done after a home game at say 6pm. Long enough to still cater for those wanting a quick drink and to see players before heading off but not so long a wait for those hanging about for the quiz/bingo/whatever. Charge a fiver and include a pie/sausage roll in the price.

Musa
Talking about this at work and ine of my nerdier colleagues seems to think we will be able to ask for an emergency loan because we don't have another senior keeper available who has played 5 full first team matches this season. As it's Musa's first call up it's not a scenario we'd have been expected to prepare for.

My comments on the match thread were not aimed at the loan players or downplaying their contribution. My issue is with people running football clubs who say one thing and do another.

Warriors come North
Imagine how it may look to potential investors if we're selling them on the potential of the academy and building a team around it but then not demonstrating it. If we can't do it in League 1 then what's the chances of doing it if/when we climb any higher? We may have been able to play the 'poor club in admin' card to get favourable terms for loan players recently but that's not the basis for a successful business model going forward. I understand the pressure to avoid relegation and the impact the 15pt penalty will have huge baring at the moment but it doesn't change the fact we're being told one thing while doing another.

Warriors come North
What a game and what a result. We've ground out a couple games recently but the team were on top for most of tonight's match and fully deserving of the win. 4 goals and 4 different scorers is great as well with Musa ensuring Stennie didn't take the shine off at the end by saving the penalty. Bavidge injury didn't look too bad and hoping his early removal was more precautionary than necessary. Need everyone to remain grounded going in to Saturday. While we should be looking ahead at the next team we also need to be mindful of the gap behind us. What we're doing is working and I'd hate to see us go gung ho and risk undoing the hard work so far. Isn't it incredible how a great game and result can ward off the cold. Gloves back on now for the rest of my walk home.

Not something to worry about until the club are in a position to be able to do anything about it. Totally out of our hands.

Warriors come North
Saw somewhere that Don McNaughton had been doing some work at the club so there is definitely focus being given to the mental side of the game.

Warriors come North
The toughest challenge will be not getting over confident after moving out of the bottom two but the manager has been doing a great job of keep things real and I'd expect that to continue. Looking forward to an evening game under the lights on home soil. We don't do enough of them.

It seems obvious to me that was his plan from the outset and if it is him then so be it. My thoughts are based on the possibility that new faces may be able to draw on support and backing from all parties because there's no baggage but any of the old faces is unlikely to be able to do the same. It's not based on any like or dislike for any of them. I've said previously that many are due gratitude for what they have given over the years. Well, at least those running things up until about 7/8 years ago.

The Rock beckons
I'm congratulating the team for overhauling the 15pt penalty and getting us properly back into fighting territory. As I said, still a way to go, but that's an achievement worth marking in itself. Something to push on even more from and definitely not something to be complacent about.

First and foremost I want to see the club on a firm financial footing. However there's a part of me would rather that came about through a totally new person or group as there's way too much baggage, ego and local politics attached to the likes of Savage, Sutherland, McGillivray, Cameron, etc.

Delighted to see the team and coaches getting the rewards for their hard work and determination. They can now set their sites on 7th spot and a win on Tuesday will achieve that as well as open up a wee gap on Annan. There's a bit to go yet, but the turnaround in our season (on the pitch) is stuff of legends.

Gable Endies @ Home
We're fortunate to have kept things together and improved on the pitch. Must be unbearable for Dumbarton fans seeing everything on and off the pitch crumble around them. It won't be a top priority for them just now but state of their pitch was atrocious last night.

Is it an idea to merge this with the existing admin thread to keep all the chat in one place?
