  1. The toughest challenge will be not getting over confident after moving out of the bottom two but the manager has been doing a great job of keep things real and I'd expect that to continue. Looking forward to an evening game under the lights on home soil. We don't do enough of them.
  2. It seems obvious to me that was his plan from the outset and if it is him then so be it. My thoughts are based on the possibility that new faces may be able to draw on support and backing from all parties because there's no baggage but any of the old faces is unlikely to be able to do the same. It's not based on any like or dislike for any of them. I've said previously that many are due gratitude for what they have given over the years. Well, at least those running things up until about 7/8 years ago.
  3. I'm congratulating the team for overhauling the 15pt penalty and getting us properly back into fighting territory. As I said, still a way to go, but that's an achievement worth marking in itself. Something to push on even more from and definitely not something to be complacent about.
  4. First and foremost I want to see the club on a firm financial footing. However there's a part of me would rather that came about through a totally new person or group as there's way too much baggage, ego and local politics attached to the likes of Savage, Sutherland, McGillivray, Cameron, etc.
  5. Delighted to see the team and coaches getting the rewards for their hard work and determination. They can now set their sites on 7th spot and a win on Tuesday will achieve that as well as open up a wee gap on Annan. There's a bit to go yet, but the turnaround in our season (on the pitch) is stuff of legends.
  6. We're fortunate to have kept things together and improved on the pitch. Must be unbearable for Dumbarton fans seeing everything on and off the pitch crumble around them. It won't be a top priority for them just now but state of their pitch was atrocious last night.
  7. Is it an idea to merge this with the existing admin thread to keep all the chat in one place?
  8. For me it comes across as more of what we've had the last few years with plans and promises being made when we don't know if we'll have the resources to deliver it. Look at the post from Caley Tennis to see how many within the fanbase will take it as a given that this is the way things will go. I'm not saying I like or dislike what's been said but to be saying it under the context of our current situation is meaningless hype. I get that Charlie, Scott and Supporters Trust will want to be keeping everything positive but if we should have learned anything over the last few years it's a need for basing things in reality. Organising a staying up party whilst sitting in a relegation playoff spot and still no guarantee we'll even exist next season is indicative of that lack of reality. The update from Alan Savage was far more meaningful and at least contained context.
  9. Deadline for offers to be set soon and preferred bidder status hoped by end of April according to Alan Savage. https://archive.ph/Sc8dw
  10. Thanks for the update. Sounds like lots of talking and hopes/plans for the future when we don't even know who will own and run the club and it will ultimately fall to them how things are done.
  11. Anyone at the meeting able to give an update?
  12. Still feeling deprived of football. Looked like these guys had never played together before and our play was totally disjointed. We somehow move closer to Annan. One to forget and move on. Hopefully Longstaff isn't sidelined with injury again.
  13. Won't make the meeting but hope we get some uplifting news and more than an update that there's still people kicking the tyres or it'll be a waste of everyone's time.
  14. Feeling very deprived of football since the start of the year and really looking forward to this one. Just need to get away from work 15 minutes early so I can make kick off.
  15. If we get hit occasionally by 3 or 4 but the setup and tactics are winning more games and putting more points on the board overall then so be it. I think we have a decent balance and I'd be reluctant to change it given that it's working and has us on track to safety.
  16. The more teams in touching distance the better as any of them could go on a wee run.
  17. Talking to a couple of locals and even with their humble setup there's some fear that they have major financial issues. They were of the view that the money from us was budgeted for getting them through the season.
  18. For the above reasons the 8 8 8 thing is delusional. Christie would have us believe there's this well of untapped talent that's not been used over the years but even at this level we're shipping in youngsters from other clubs instead of using our own. Not saying we don't produce or have some decent younger players but not nearly the number we believe we do or is even possible? I don't expect Christie to be critical of the part of the club he's been responsible for years and I think it does ok all things considered but we do need to be realistic. If we can't create or honour a pathway to the first team (and not just the bench) in league one then what's to encourage these young players in future and stop them heading over the bridge or elsewhere where they'd at least get better money?
  19. Neither team will be happy with the first half performance but we upped our game in the second half by enough to secure the win. Thankfully Kelty didn't seem like they could hit a barn door with a tractor and had a lot of wayward shots. A win is a win and we close ground on the three teams above us.
  20. Everything is screwed up right now. Whether it's admin and a total reset or a new owner we just have to hope all the uncertainty comes to an end soon.
  21. Learned a lesson from Saturday and checked before heading to this one. Hopefully a good workout for the squad and a game on astro ahead of the weekend will be useful.
  22. Yes. £5 entry for adults and free for kids.
  23. I somehow managed to totally miss the news that the game was postponed and showed up. Then I thought I must have got it wrong with the 2pm kick off and that's why there was nobody around. I'll be checking if I qualify for bringing a carer in future.
  24. We're playing Nairn in a friendly at their place on Tuesday night. Kick off is 7.45pm.
