I've just heard on TalkSport that Butcher has been confirmed as boss of ICT.

Looking like a very good bit of business for him

Job until the end of the season, and gets to stay with Scotland and Setanta. In short, with that safety net, he couldn?t really care less if Caley go down. But if they stay up, he takes the plaudits and walks away to a bigger job elsewhere.

First para "Former England captain Terry Butcher has accepted the role of manager at Inverness."... that to me is a confirmation.

It says accepted now!

BTW it took an absolute age for ictfc.co.uk to say that Brew had been sacked.

If someone had said to me last week you can swap Brewster for Butcher I know what my response would have been.

The Setanta article says he's signed for 18 months. Is that confirmed?

Here is the article...................make your own mind up.

Former England captain Terry Butcher has accepted the role of manager at Inverness.

Butcher was expected to succeed Craig Brewster in the Highland hot seat, and takes over ahead of this weekend?s match with Celtic.

The Setanta Sports pundit takes over with Caley sitting bottom of The SPL, two points adrift of Falkirk.

He returns to Scottish football having previously managed Motherwell from 2002 to 2006, and has since been in charge at Sydney FC before becoming George Burley?s assistant with Scotland last year.

The 50-year-old is expected to continue in his role with the national team, with Setanta Sports News understanding that he will sign an 18-month deal with Inverness.

Maurice Malpas is set to be named as Butcher?s assistant, a role he carried out when the pair were at Fir Park.

Tell me then... i'm dying to know!!!!

if they'd said we can swap Brewster for an inanimate carbon rod I'd have been delighted ;-)

Yes, but don't take Malpas with you!

I think the fact the Setanta are the 1st to publish this makes sense - as Butcher would have to let them know (as he works for them) that he's taking the Caley job

Happy its sorted at last. I would'nt expect a quick announcement on the ICT website. Its Sentanta he was working for so they were bound to get the exlusive. Massive game now v the Tic. Bring it on.....

My source was bang on as usual , I only wish the odds of 25/1 that were quoted on here had actually been available .

and this cant be on the main page why? so what if it hasnt been on official ict website, its been on enough other pages to warrent disscussion on the main page, aint just some rumour someone heard!

I hate how we're kept in the dark.. As a family club, you would think they would make some kind of notice to let us know what is going on.

But instead, we don't even know if he is manager yet or not!

Joke!

What a joke this board is making out ICT. Just when the club are in the worst position in our league history,( facing relegation for first time in case they hadn,t noticed), they are trying to appoint someone with 2 other jobs!!!!!!! Since when has the ICT managers job been part-time?

How the hell can he possibly give 100%. As well as his managerial record being average at best, Its just a mad appointment. :rotflmao: :thumb04:

Having said that I will still be backing the team and hope to be proved wrong!!!!

You know he'll come out and re-assure the fans that he's going to give the job 100% commitment!

I don't think he will, pure and simple.

Better options we're available including Robbo who woudl have given everything to the job and keeping us up.

I hope the board know what their doing, because this is possibly the decision that could shape our long term future.

How many times do Scotland play a season? Plus the SPL shuts down anyway.

'Most' Setanta games are on a Sunday - a day off!
