I have heard that they were going to try play it on Sat 28th March rather than the Sunday, perhaps to encourage a larger crowd. Can anyone confirm?

I left at 80 mins when it was 6 to Rangers. The boys didn't play very well, and it didn't help that they lost the keeper after half an hour, and the keeper that replaced him was...to put it blunty... awful.

Though in one way it was nice to see so many people show up, but it seems that Rangers take their ***** to the youth games as well - including a kid who must have been no older then 7 joining in with all the songs, and not the good ones either.

Though the linesman on the dug out side was the largest linesman I have seen in the game. He could not keep up with the play at all.

They had a few moments towards the end of the game (just as I was leaving) obviously as Rangers started changing things and messing about. But in the end, the Rangers team was just better and stronger. Their number 3 I think, was giving the right back a terrible time, and both of Rangers wingers were far far quicker then our wing backs.

In the end, the right team won.

I agree that caley were poor and the better team won! However the caley right back was the only defender that got stuck in there winger did not get past him once and he make at least 3 goal saving tackles. The fault came with the center back welsh, he was really poor and has been for alot of this season! The right back (woodhouse) along with the right mid were the only players that stood out at all!

Also the Keeper went for a 50/50 ball as the whistle went for offside!

Not sure what game you were watching mate but I would say your mate the right back did not play very well at all.

Cannae comment on your comments on welsh over the season but he was inverness's best player on saturday. obivously your a player, a mate of a player or a relative of a player -and we know which one - as they are the only regulars at reserve games and the only ones which can fairly comment on anyones performance.

I would say that its pretty pish poor singling out any team mate regardless of who they are.

Never mind, credit to the boys for making club history in getting as far as they did.

Sorry Kingmills but semi-finalists are never remembered. What really matters is how many of these boys are capable of stepping up to the next level and lets not forget that the reserve league is being scrapped by the SPL. Good youth teams will not help the first team but a development programme pruducing good players will!

I can't believe that you are not offering praise to our team for progressing to this level.

Like Kingsmills, I do think they have done so well for the club.

On the whole I doubt anyone will be that bothered about them going out.

I paid my ?4 to get into the stadium and have to say I was impressed with the a few of the players. The right back (2) was excellent as was the keeper until he was Petr Cech'd... (I left shortly after because if I hadn't I probably would have lamped a couple of Rangers fans for their lack of sympathy towards the boy)... our centre of midfield looked strong but unfortunately Rangers have the money/reputation to go round and snap up every decent footballer in the central belt. The early goal was a killer and the team plan was out the window after that.

The boys can be proud for getting to a decent stage but I'm gutted for them not getting the experience of a final.

Like the post above was disgusted at the attitude of a section of the Ranger's support - really don't understand the need to sing 'God Save The Queen' at an under 19's game.

With regard to the game, I think the problem was that more of the Rangers team played to their potential than the ICT players. I also don't think the tactics were correct, it seemed like both full backs were asked to play the ball long and over the top for Sutherland to compete with two very good Rangers centre backs for flick on's. It was evidant this tactic would not work from an early stage, yet no change was sought. Both full-backs were caught out in the first half as the two wide players ( Leslie and Ross) seemed to be asked to stay very high and offered little protection down the flanks with Rangers often targetting them with both winger and full-back - the Rangers left-back Wylde was the best player on the pitch. In fairness the full-backs (Scott-Woodhouse and Shinnie) coped well with the pressing and none of the 1st half goals came from down either flank. Scott-Woodhouse in particular put in a number of good tackles along with Helmsley in midfield. Leslie on the right looked our brightest player in the 1st half but our tactics meant the ball was rarely played to his feet. With regard to ict's comments, Welsh did have a decent 2nd half but as I remember he had a few very shakey moments in the 1st half completly, missing a couple of through balls, not in my opinion Caleys best player. But like all performed much better after the break.

The 2nd half Caley looked a much better team and the introduction of Fraser gave them more of an attacking impetus. Unfortunatly a quick goal from Rangers set them back. The boys looked to get the ball down to feet and run at their opposing players, Fraser and Ross combined well on the left flank. Toward the end of the game, and I understand Rangers were not pushing like they had been, Caley came into the game and when the full-backs pushed up and started to attack with the wide players, like Rangers had done in the first half we were a constant threat. Unfortunatly it was all too little to late, and i'm sure the boys would have been very dissapointed with themselves, especially having drawn with the same team at Murray Park earlier in the season.

It would be nice to see some of these boys given a chance in the final few reserve games to show what they could possibly offer, instead of playing the likes of Gathussi and Bryne who seem nowhere near the 1st team and don't look likely to get signed. Surely giving our young players a chance to shine would be a better oppertunity for the club.

Also well done to the sub-keeper (Wilson) on Saturday for putting up with all the abuse he took from the Rangers fans.
