Scotland U21s

Featured Replies

not long till they are hopefully

forrest, rhodes, wylde as a front 3 in the 4-3-3 looks exciting

cairney looks neat and tidy in midfeild and the defense looks solid hanlon could well be a future scotland centre half and captain hes got a long career ahead

but that front 3 is extremly talented give them 2 years and they will be starters without a doubt

the futures bright

also the u17's are going well into the elite round of the euro qualifying unbeaten

qualification table

futures bright

shame the u19's art going great

Scotland has a history of producing decent performances and results at the lower leves such as U21, but its making the transition to senior level thats failed us. Hopefully the financial constraints on Scottish clubs mean players like Wylde, Forrest, Pawlett, Fyvie etc etc will get first team football now we cant afford to buy dross from abroad in the false belief that being 'continental' they are all world class.

Read that Celtic are chasing Rhodes along with some English clubs - I hope he is wise enough that he stays down south - best place for these young players to develop IMO. Evident by the fact that most of the starting 11 in the senior team are now in the Perm or Championship!!!

All the home matches for the Scotland U21s are played in Paisley throughout this campaign so ive managed to get to the two home matches so far. We were the better team against Austria but just couldn't manage to get the win we required, watching the game felt a little similar to watching the national team but that was an excellent result away from home against Holland. Puts us back into 2nd place and we do seem to be producing some decent players so it is looking good.
