Identify the player from former clubs

Below is a selective list of clubs that 40 current or former ICT players were at before joining us. Quite an exotic mix. And it includes players you had almost certainly forgotten, or at least tried to forget.

It is not a list of all their former clubs, or the club immediately prior to joniing us, that would be too easy. Nor is it necessarily in the right order if more than 1 club is listed. And in some cases the player was on the books of the club mentioned but might not have played a senior game for them.

So that one clever person doesn't reveal all the answers within about 5 minutes, can I suggest that people post just 1 answer at a time, and don't post again until someone else has provided an answer.

  • Here's the Hastings one - it was actually an extra time "Golden Goal" to win the tie. A very good finish too. How come he NEVER did anything like that for us?!

Trust Lionel to be the last one, that was a fun wee game.

Steve Hislop, Dean McDonald and David Graham - all played for Gillingham.

Great answer to a different question!

Yngwie, I've got a Caley Thistle related question:

Billy McKay became a Full International player last night, as an Inverness CT player. He didn't manage to get on the scoresheet in his half hour, sadly.

However, TWO players on ICT's books at the time, have netted in Internationals for their Country (1 goal each). Who are they??

Well done!

You're totally spot on, there!

Aye, Marius Nicolae scored vs. Russia in a friendly shortly before the Euro 2008 Championships. Probably helped get him selected for the Romania squad...and he played in those Finals whilst still with us!

Richard Hastings got the winner (his solitary Canadian goal) against Mexico in the Gold Cup quarter-finals of 2000. As if beating Celtic 3-1 at Parkhead wasn't enough (both within 2 weeks)!

Canada ended up winning the whole thing! Hastings a vital cog. They played in the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2001 as winners of the concacaf region but Hastings was on the bench for all their games!

But the fact is: a player from Inverness CaleyThistle played against France and Holland in Euro 2008!!

"Oscar Perez is stupified!"

I just knew that it would be either yourself or Renegade who would come up with the answer!

Someone once described me as a Stat Head on the forum...you can see why

Did Davide Xausa ever score for Canada whilst playing with us?

I don't know the answer but surely one of the stattos will!
