Ian Black

Ian Black is in hot water for illegal betting at his time at ICT.  The game v Motherwell in March 06 is the first one cited by the SFA.  I see he got booked but not sent off that day.  Shame to think that allegedly his cheating could have cost us points.

  • I always thought he was shady!

  • Let us all listen to the evidence before condemning the lad. From my experience there is hardly a pro or semi pro in the land that does not have a flutter on the fixed odds footie despite a clear FIFA

Whilst I don't personally agree with players being banned from betting on all football I do agree that there should be a blanket ban on betting on games within your league. The betting for or against your team should carry a severe punishment IMO. He was given a inappropriate punishment given the fact he was betting against his own team(s). Sets a pretty dangerous precedent if this happens in the future. What punishment would be dished out for an offender being getting caught betting on one game he was involved in? £10 fine and 45minute ban?

Once again, a shockingly lenient 'punishment' handed down for gross misconduct at the new club.

Betting seems to be rife within football so I take it Ian Black will be the first of many to be punished.
