Motherwell have just parted company with their manager. Let's hope that it does them little good and that we are rewarded for showing faith in and backing ours.

These things are so hard to figure out.  How did Leicester suddenly produce a performance last night as soon as the manager who brought them all the success last year is out of the door!  We never know what is going on behind the scenes, but more often than not a departure of a manager either sees a marked improvement or a further drop off.  Things rarely stay the same. My guess is that even with just a caretaker manager in to the end of the season, Motherwell's form will pick up a bit.

They have club stalwart Stephen Craigan on their coaching staff. I suspect he may be entrusted with the role until the end of the season. It's not clear whether that will be good or bad for us . On the other hand, if we continue to play as we did on Friday we will pull clear anyway irrespective of what others around us do.

The Motherwell fans still love a certain Butcher !

Shame he had to go really, his performance at Aberdeen was pure comic genius.
