  1. rubbish thought shane was one of our better players today

  2. Pass marks to Esson and the youngsters Shinnie, Ross and Sutherland. Particular criticism to Foran who did very little and seemed to provide no leadership at all. The quickest he moved all afternoon was when he was taken off. Criticism to Butcher as well. The team played far too deep and the the substitions were too little too late. A top 6 finish seems unlikely on this showing. We have got to start winning this type of match.

  3. Good god, that was not fun at all. Positives: Ryan Esson made some sensational saves in the first half Shane Sutherland didn't look out of place Shinnie was probably our best outfield player Negatives: An awful match to watch It was freezing Their midfield overran Duncan, Cox and Ross We had less width than Kate Moss' waist Munro looked terrified of Dargo's pace - his hesitancy out on the touchline in the build up to the first goal was criminal Tokely looked bossed by Higdon Too many experienced players didn't turn up today - in addition to the centre-backs, I thought Duff, Duncan and Foran were all really poor today Yet again, the ref was inept - tooting his whistle every time Higdon collapsed theatrically, whilst allowing non-stop wrestling and shirt-tugging of our players. Bring back the foreign officials We need Jonny Hayes back, and fast.

  5. Butcher's policy on substituting is just bizarre. Halfway through the second half, when we thought a draw was the least we would get, but wanted the win, the game was crying out for some fresh legs and a change of tack. Midden brought on two subs who were able to keep running at us. Butcher waited till near the end to bring on Eric, who hardly got a touch in the time available, and brought Blumenwhatsit on with about a minute to go! What a waste of players on the bench who might have changed the game for the better.

  6. Wish "we" had. "we" lost. Think you may have accidentally gone to the wrong message board.

  7. Get a goal, switch off, drop deep and wait till the equaliser comes! In the second half we switch to a more traditional 4-4-2 which makes us look tactically much more stable and results in very few chances for St Mirren. We then run out of steam and do not make substitutions and lose an unfortunate goal. Whilst individuals had poor games, I would think that Butcher should look himself in the mirror and ask whether he should have changed the formation and made the subsitutions earlier! We seem to be incapable of taking home games by the scruff of the neck and being positive in an attacking sense.

  8. We got exactly what we deserved today. Out thought & out fought by a motivated and well organised St Mirren. Only pass marks for our side were Esson & possibly Shinnie and I was dissapointed Butcher didn't change things much sooner, then again there wasn't much on the bench to choose from. Bit of a reality check for us after such a wondeful run but hopefully we can bounce back. We'll need to improve dramatically on Wednesday or Killie will tear us apart

  9. Wanderer--keep smiling. You must be visiting relatives . I am surprised that you actually made it into the U.K. in view of the terrible weather you have been experiencing over there. Not a flake of snow here in Vancouver region. The Eastern ares of Canad a have vbeen battered by huge snow storms and horizontal , powerful winds. Flooding is huge! Dismal rainy, but not overly cold, conditionsin Vancouver. Typical overcast, wet Winter conditions. We are holding our breath waiting for the coming dump. Want to wish everbody a wonderful New Year.I articular a big thanks to Scotty and Caley D for keeping this wonderful site going strong and vibrant. Long may it continue.

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.
