  2. I hate 1 year deals too. basically means they are no better than 5 month deals and we have to start looking at contracts in December when the talk turns to pre-contracts and speculation for any of our players who are performing well. I understand that we have to cut the cloth to suit, that relegation is a constant spectre, and that SPL re-organisation will still rear its head in some form or another, but surely there must be a mutually agreeable method of coming up with contracts that deal with relegation should it happen or that also give both the player and the club options they can exercise ..... I would suggest we should - at a minimum - be offering all of those players we wish to keep a 2 (or 3) year deal but to protect the club we build a relegation wage decrease into the contract. However, to protect the player, we also insert a clause that allows them to walk away from that second (or third) year if another club comes in, pays a reasonable transfer fee (for sake of argument, equivalent to perhaps a year's salary) and matches or betters their wages from the year before. Seems simple ? maybe too simple ?

  3. Having most of the team all signed up for next season is great news. What with now only Rooney and Duff the remaining players yet to decide their futures. Whilst I'd like to keep Rooney obviously, I'm sure we all would, I dont see it happening. He's likely to go on to better things. Though I would like to think he would guard himself against moves to Hibs (as good as a sidewards step) or Fleetwood (a much lower level (effectively non league) where he could be forgotten). If he gets a good offer from the championship or league 1 even then yeah, by all means it'd probably be a good move but anything lower would seem to be more financial reward than anything. And at 22 he has plenty of time before he has to worry about a big pay day. On Duff, I'd like him to stay. Moreso for continuities sake as anything. But should he go, then I'd say a replacement right back rather than midfielder should be the priority. With the loss of 3 experienced centre halves (Munro - still dont know why, Hogg and Innes) we only really have one recognised centre half at the club in Ross Tokely now. Proctor and Gillet can play there but I'd rather not see that. Ideally we need 2 additions in that department. So in my opinion we need: Right back x1, Centre back x2, Striker or Attacking Mid x1 (and if Rooney leaves, one of each). They dont need to be all permanent, or signed as 1st team regulars but players need replaced. With Odhiambo, Sanchez and Bluhmenstien all having left, one replacement is definitely needed IMO (given the latter 2 rarely played). With Rooney likely leaving another striker will probably be needed there also. The centre backs are a must have. We have nothing there. This position worries me somewhat and I really hope Terry's got a few aces up his sleeve there. So what do you think?

  5. Correct me if I'm wrong but if he's on holiday he could do a bit of sightseeing up here? Possibly even visit a local club to keep his fitness levels up?

  6. Due to the content of some of the offerings on here, I went to the Rumour Mill to check out the content of the Rossco thread thereon and HEY!! Maybe IHE could arrange to get Happy Pills to some of the 'fans' as it would appear that we have a lot of 'trouble at mill'! The source for all statements is probably as well founded as their Rossco offerings... their belief in our leader is so weak poor Terry is tried, found guilty and sentenced AND HE HAS NOT EVEN ISSUED ANY DETAILS OF HIS TARGETS YET!! To again quote Mr IHE ... Muppets!
