  3. Very lenient, as Kingsmills noted. The guy will be back playing by the end of October! Far too soon in my book! The 9 game ban from Internationals will doubtless be shamefully exploited by Uruguay by arranging a series of pointless friendlies! That would enable Suarez to return for the Copa America Championships next summer. Farce. I'm hugely annoyed that this incident happened. It's tarnished the tournament and distracted much of the attention away from the events on the pitch. It's still a fantastic World Cup and that moron shouldn't (but will) receive many more 'column inches' - the competition goes on - and tonight's games should add to the drama!

  4. TB was on the sky sports news world cup report yesterday morning. He was quite good actually the usual humour & articulate use of words maybe he should stick to this being on the tv. Obviously he is still a legend down south & no doubt he will forge out a media career of some sort there. Hope he still plugs Inverness & the Highlands in the good way he used to.

  5. Bit of an update on summer signings/if any: Pretty sensible approach however I really do think we need strikers to help/challenge/push Billy McKay full story here: http://www.highland-news.co.uk/Sport/Football/Inverness-Caley-Thistle/Budget-wont-be-blown-for-any-player-Hughes-25062014.htm

  6. Seriously wouldn't bother with that place the area around St Andrews isn't the most salubrious of places. Go to a Premier Inn in the city centre or somewhere like Solihull. For drinking go to Hennessy's or The Anchor in Digbeth, The Wellington on Bennetts Hill (Make sure you get the right Wellington!!!). There's a few pubs around the ground but most aren't up to much, the Cricketers on Little Green Lane is prob the best option. There's loads of street parking or a church run car park on Coventry Rd just before the ground on the left if your coming from Bordesley Circus and one just past the ground on the right on Cattell Rd, providing they're open.

  7. I think we should have a referendum on September 14th to decide if we stay in this "Union" or if Caley and Thistle should go it alone.

  8. You really are f****** clueless arent you. Have you ever attended an MLS game? How does an artificial surface translate to creating a mini MLS? and would mimicking some aspects of MLS - a league on the up, with rising attendances, improving quality, and a very serious youth policy that requires every club to establish an Academy, not to mention 22 players representing their respective countries at the world cup - be that bad? Just for a bit of clarity ..... MLS has 19 teams playing in 18 stadiums (LA & Chivas share). 3 teams (Seattle, Portland, New England) use Field Turf, 1 team (Vancouver) uses Polytan. So 14 out of 18 stadiums using good old grass ..... Of those 18 stadiums, 13 of them are "soccer specific stadiums" with only DC United, New England, San Jose, Seattle and Vancouver playing in stadiums not built specifically for football. DC United & San Jose are building new stadiums, and future teams New York FC, Orlando, and Miami are all building or looking to build proper football stadiums too..... so in the next 3 years or so MLS will have 22 teams, 19 in their own "soccer specific" stadiums with capacities of around 20-25000 each, with 18 of them using grass. Only 1 team in MLS that is playing in its own stadium will actually be choosing to use Field Turf (Portland) .... and that surface is approved at the highest level by FIFA. As for the hot dog vendors in the aisles .... not seen them at any ground yet, they usually stay in the concourse, i think the grill is a little heavy to carry up all those stairs, but I have seen popcorn vendors and the all important beer vendors going up and down the aisles. Funnily enough, I also dont recall any teams having mascots like we do in Scotland, and no cheerleaders either ...... so if anyone is guilty of making things a bit 'Disney' it is the SPFL .... and I am sure its not the first or last time the words Mickey Mouse and SPFL will appear in the same sentence !
