  1. Rant time! I am annoyed, nay angry, nay absolutely livid at the VAR decided outcome of the West Ham v Arsenal game yesterday. Whatever anyone's opinion of the accuracy of the end descision, it is poor/weak refereeing that has caused it. I accept that the WHU striker fouled the goalkeeper (albeit that Arsenal have done the same thing in other matches to win 1-0 and got away with it), and that being the case have no issue with the goal itself being disallowed. What I have a real problem with is the multiple fouls committed by Arsenal players before the foul on the goalkeeper. Trossard was not looking at, or even in the direction of, the ball as it came into play, he was intent solely on getting both arms around Pable (the WHU striker) and shepherding him away from his position, ultimately as it turned out into his own goalkeeper. The angle was never shown in the VAR review at the time but the camera behind the goal shown on Match of the Day in the evening highlighted it perfectly. This wrestling at all corners, by all teams, is a blight on the game. If referees had been strong enough or good ebough they would give all of these as penalties and stop the whole thing withing 3 or 4 games. If they had done from the start of the season then (what I see as) the proper descision would have been made yesterday, that being a penalty to West Ham. Indeed VAR did give a penalty for exactly what Trossard did yesterday against Spurs earlier in the season (manhandling a player while looking away from the ball). If this had happened in, say, October I'd probably be slightly less annoyed, but this poor officiating has effectively rubber stamped my own personal Championship double this season (albeit from different directions). Rant over.
  2. They will know who bought seats for the damaged area. The seat I was allocated was in the middle of the area where the mob congregated so we simply moved elsewhere as it was hoaching by the time we got into the stadium. Should I be expecting a knock on the door anytime soon?
  3. Surely the club knows who bought the ticket for each seat? I appreciate that it may well not have been their own seat that was ripped out, but surely a starting point would be to contact the person allocated to any damaged seats.
  4. You did, but they say they expect it to be resolved. Some detail here: Daily RecordHamilton Accies and extent of debt to HRMC revealed as cl...Accies announced yesterday that they face a winding up petition from HRMC
  5. My thoughts on the damage/confrontation As the crowd was more than double our biggest crowd of the season, how many were actual fans in the North Stand invasion group. I met a few people on the day that a know to be big fans of other clubs. They were not involved in any way in the damage or altercations, but how many were in amongst the young team mainly gathered behind the goals. I agree the stewarding was a major part of the problem. They should have got the overspill into the seated area instead of encouraging the pi55he4ds to climb on the wall and carry on with their pre-planned exuberance. The club knew how many tickets they sold therefore they should have been better prepared for all eventualities, including pies... There were some fans who were too drunk to have been allowed into the stadium and the orchestrator in front of the 'mob' was seen to be the centre of a few arguments on the park amongst our own fans. I witnessed one of our regular fans having angry words with him on the park and threatening to report him to the police for whatever he did. All in, it was a very predictable outcome to what should just have been a day of celebration. With regards to the damage to seats. There is no excuse for that. Someone must know who did it. Report it. This trend has been growing in the lower leagues for some time now with bricks thrown at buses, youths confronting away fans etc. Back to Green Street days
  6. Very soul destroying after the remarkable recovery from administration.
  7. With almost everyone having cameras on their phones these days it sometimes amazes me that that these hooligans are never caught....or are they? It's all about evidence. It's out there. Just have to find it. But you can rest assured if any are found and are under 16 chances are nothing will be done.
  8. I heard that there were a few Ross fans that came down to the game. Could they have been the instigators? Bit of sour grapes perhaps?
  9. Coming away from the stenny v ict game a few weeks ago I got talking to an old stenny fan walking back to the car. ( probably a bit younger than me but he looked older 😃. O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us / To see oursels as ithers see us!" He said he hoped ict go up and stenny stay down. Your team is playing well and you have a very good manager I said, why not go up. We are happy watching the team, winning more than losing, enjoying the football. If we go up we will have to find money for the increased wages getting better players in. We have a set number who come to watch home games so where is that money coming from. Very astute I thought.
