  1. See 1:50 Cheers Caley, it near brings a tear to the eye watching that again even if it was only the second goal...... and a trademark chip for the winner. Younger fans take note!
  2. Plenty good images of Rossco over the years but it'll have to wait till he leaves his current club
  3. There was a good image of wee Stewarty shaking his fists at the camera when he scored the winner against Montrose when we won div 3.
  4. Just wear an Elgin scarf and IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER will look after you
  5. Aye I remember some people doing that in the 70s. Usually they missed and they got thrown out the ground. I once saw Hugh Dallas with a nasty head cut though.
  6. Two things struck me when I read this. First, Celtic have won. Their hated rivals are defunct. Yet they're still whingeing. Second, it hasn't dawned on them yet that their cuddly little club will now be promoted to 'Most Hated Establishment in Scottish Football'
  7. I would rename the thread 'Europe's assault on Celtic'
  8. Correct. I've obviously got massive concerns about our squad (or lack thereof) but afaik C(o)unty have not got anybody who's scored goals in the SPL. Can't see where they are going to replace Gardyne either. Their togetherness will have to take them a long way along with the experienced defence which could be overworked. Despite the hopes of the jailenders I can't see how they can afford the luxury of benching Rosscoe every week either. I think that's got a ring of truth in it but my memory is of TB persisting with Eagle and Stratford before realising they were useless and picking Roy and Russell which we had been telling him all along. Compared to other ICT managers it seems TB's ability to assess a player is hit or miss. Even Brew could spot a player even though he was feck all good at anything else.
  9. I know it's not been discussed much on here but the SFA have been working with the non-League clubs to try to set up a 'sort of' pyramid. The HL clubs have all got their licences arranged and there's moves towards a 'Lowland League' with the best from the EOSL and the SOSL plus any juniors who want to get involved. Clubs who don't meet the licensing criteria won't get in. Being involved with Whitehill I've seen most of the paperwork (including an SFA questionnaire) and the way things are going, clubs are wanting a system where the leagues below the current div 1 are regionalised. Also many clubs, if they commit to the HL/LL, would like the option of staying there even if they win it, as they simply can't afford to be in a league with midweek games away at, for example, Stranraer.
  10. ???????
  11. I actually had something similar in my hands the other week from about 1971. Official headed paper embossed in blue with the stand as you say, and a yellow backing sheet too. However I would have noticed any official mention of Glasgow on it, being kinda anal about some things. Sold it on eBay for about 38 squids. And here it is (possibly the link might even work!): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110742765978?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D110742765978%26_rdc%3D1#ht_500wt_922 Obviously I called them Glasgow Rangers to help sell it!
  12. But not by themselves! The paper uses it to distinguish between them and Berwick. Also the paper refers to them as Rangers F.C. In the last line.
  13. Good news, 1 more to the squad. Are we in double figures yet
  14. Maybe on paper, but give me the Brazil teams of the 70s and 80s to watch anytime ahead of Spain Aye poor Yngwie's just a youngster I would maybe have agreed with him last year but I never actually thought you could get tired of watching a team passing it to death. Brazil 1970 was the benchmark for me. Attack all the time, just like ICT under Pele!
  15. True, never really bothered me as much as Tyldesley but he was a walloper last night. The English media are unreal. They were seeded top in their group so you would expect them to reach the last 8. Yet the fuss that was made when they actually did was over the top, as if they had expected them NOT to qualify from a group including Ukraine and Sweden (mind you I thought they were lucky against both). So then they switch back to jingoistic mode which is just nauseating. Bad enough when it's Tyldesley on ITV but you really expect better from the BBC. And as for old Sir Bob Charlton ("if they beat Italy I think they'll win it"), this is one of English football's most respected statesmen. Almost felt sorry for the squad, not the most talented bunch ever, but they could do without the pressure. Oh well, saves us listening to tired old stereotypes about WW2 I suppose
  16. Mind reading from your own personal perspective again, IHE? Can't understand why you do what you do whatever it is you do as a profession, when you could so easily make big bucks as God! Is God greedy?
  17. Oh yes I forgot Ernie Hunt actually scored it
  18. What about the Willie Carr free kick?
  19. A short distance in miles, but years away in time.........
  20. Dude, Joe, I can't see any way they would get into div 1. If the SPL kicks them out, their say in the matter is over. It's the member clubs of the SFL that have the next say. I'm sure it would be against the SFL constitution for a club to start anywhere but the bottom, unless somebody thought of this when the constitution was drawn up.
  21. That's a fair shout Davie.
  22. I'm fairly certain they were called The Rangers Football Club until quite recently, say 20 years ago. I'm even more certain they never had Glasgow in the name. The Registered Company marked as in Administration on the companies house Website is The Rangers Football Club PLC, so likely they were. But don't suppose you have to call yourself after the Registered Company.....likely had a rebranding exercise. Aye I know all that....... I was just trying to say that the 'Glasgow Rangers' thing is something used by the English media and sadly it has stuck. Here's a programme from the 60s on eBay, sorry don't know how to steal eBay images :tears: http://www.ebay.co.u...5#ht_500wt_1379
  23. What was he buying, engine oil? Since you asked, it was 4 tyres. Cost the poor guy about £660
  24. Thanks for the heads up Alex. I look forward to his baffled looks as the cry of 'duckman' rings out at a ground near me this season
