St Mirren -V- ICT
Shocker of a crowd at Perth. You'd imagine a fair amount of that would be dons fans.

St. Mirren away
Hope they're all hungover like when we were in 2000 after we went ballistic

Love to see the Midden take the drop but sadly Dundee are too far adrift. Mind you if Broonie can save a spot kick anything can happen....

Even the Daily Ranger has noticed us
So it's a bit like Uncle Roy's calculator. Except they have two voices each instead of eyes..... Didn't Aberdeen take about 2,500 to the game in September? I'm still trying to get over the DR's assertion that all they have to do is sing loud and there'll be more of them

Gordon Strachan (Scotland manager)
If everyone was just comfortable taking part, life would be mundane and I'd still be following football from the sports section because ICT and this site wouldn't exist. Hitler? Really? WTF did that come from? Is that you adopting the Charlie Bannerman tactics? Ignore the post and reply to the last line What you say is all perfectly true. You should take part and try to win - I should have made that clear. However there's more to life than sport. Maybe losing used to ruin my weekend when I was younger but not now. If we think the most important thing about Scotland is to be successful at football (90 minute nationalists) then we've lost our way. We should look at other nations such as The Netherlands  Hitler - just a throwaway comment but surely you know how he tried to use the 1936 Games as propaganda?

Chill pill. I said somewhere I wasn't an English teacher - I'm not a biology teacher either but DD is just talking common sense. I think 'gene pool' just about covers it. We can expect to beat the likes of England on the park if we get our best 11 fit. If they have 6 injuries they can pull in another 6 of equal quality - we can't. And there's a fair chance that the 6 will be an inch taller and a few pounds heavier than what we've got. Crops of decent players only come around periodically. Look at the current Welsh team. Best Wales side in my lifetime I would say. Now that the world is a considerably smaller place, small nations like ours are only punching our own weight, not above it as we always didbefore. In fact, thanks to people like Levein and Vogts, we are punching below it at the moment. BTW England have plenty problems of their own at International level, IMO. But our problems have emerged more quickly because of our size. I'm a Nat too but I don't really think sport is very important (too much like Hitler in 1936). If we were comfortable with ourselves as a nation we would be happy with just the taking part.

Signs when you know you're a ICT supporter.
Of course Yngwie (Hobbo) joined the crew in a later incarnation. Yngwie and Russ Abbott have yet to be spotted together in the same stand at an ICT match......

Champions League
I agree with Kingsmills! Not just the clubs either. Having taught most of my days in a high school I'm really sad at how little our national team means to youngsters of 14 or so. They don't have any memories of Scotland being able to compete, and talking about greats like Dalglish, McGrain, Jordan, Law, Bremner etc just makes you sound like somebody's grandad ......

Merger Talk

Absolutely disgraceful
The pyramid looks like happening though. The SFA licensing of clubs is well underway and soon those without a license will be excluded from the Scottish Cup. The new 'Lowland League' may even be rushed into being for next season. There's likely to be a playoff between the winners of the HL and LL and the bottom of the new setup. However wee diddy clubs like the one I'm involved with are pretty unanimous that it should be regionalised below level 2, which the new league of 18 at level 3 kind of scuppers.

Merger Talk
Except in the part that really counts for anything.............! P.s. it's easy to make statements like that while they're in a league below and not having to handle regular OF games etc. Remember our stadium is 20% bigger and we've also handled things like the elton John gig. You have to ask if they're handling things better now we're both in the same division and we have a level playing field (although theirs is a bit soggier). Yes I know they're slightly ahead of us on crowds this season but its still significantly lower than what we used to get when we came home in Jan 2005. You can expect crowds at the global warming stadium to drop next year after the SPL novelty wears off - it happens everywhere.

Beating the shadows....... Oh wait..... The piper at away games. Hating Livi. Getting teams like Hamilton in the cup and it was a big game. Big Lewis getting lifted every week. The terracing opposite the stand. The Caley Inn. The orange away strip. McCall the paint pot kicker. Ice Station Broadwood.
