  1. I'm just back today from a week in Wales and a couple of stops on the M6 on the way. No problems apart from a couple of times in Wales where the assistant peered at the note before putting it in the till - obviously they were young and had never seen one before. My experience is, it's only a few arrogant Londoners looking for a bit of sport who give you any bother. That and little pockets of the country where you get UKIP-type little englanders
  2. Do I detect a whiff of cynicism there :thumb04: Ah but I was 26 when I came in so 7 years (tops) left for me
  3. 81-82? That's the year I started teaching although Bannerman would have you believe otherwise. I take it Zander is Scotty then?
  4. So you're a Malmsteen on your mother's side?
  5. Did Tennents not used to be decent stuff away back? Now apparently it's a global brand and just as rotten as Bud and Miller and all the rest. I used to do a bit of home brewing and I remember that soft Scottish water was ideal for lager just as Burton water makes good bitter with all its gypsum content. In fact if you're making bitter to an English recipe up here, you have to add gypsum and other stuff to the water, which affects the ph and so on, which in turn allows the enzymes to do their stuff.
  6. I've just noticed your avatar Kev. That's a large Glenlivet you owe me.

    On a LSM

Yeah I've got the two AKOBs
  8. Naw, Caley, not ICT. Lost 6-2 at Brockville as Stirling had a plastic pitch at the time.
  9. Fine in the first half, working hard and creating as much as Yinitit till we gifted the first goal. Daly got a free header. Writing on the wall after that. Also Blackie was on the receiving end of what looked like a rather cynical challenge from Dods. When he went off at half time we had nothing to offer. Barry, his replacememnt, seemed unable to run at players and kept turning inside, mind you that was after Brewster switched him to the left. Looked like another disaster at the second goal away up the far end. When the ball flew up in the air that feckin giant Wilkie got plenty time to nod it home. Second half and bits of the first half we persisted in punting it up to Barrowman who was left to battle against the twin towers. When we kept it on the deck we looked like causing them problems but too little too late. Cowie does not look happy at all at the mo. We also missed Duncan IMO, but then I say that every week.
  10. I think you'll find you're two thirds right Pimple
  11. There'll be a pay gate for sure.
  12. I think Gordy made the hammer/nail interface there. Legend Pele.
  13. It's the Tuesday then....... would have preferred Weds but never mind.
  14. Where you been hiding man? Missed your dulcit tones :thumb04: :018: BENI's just a bunch of fans but you're looking for bias at the club? Nothing stopping you forming your own NINI or whatever you want to call them ;)
  15. I think there's a fair amount of 'anybody can beat anybody else on their day' in the league this year. It could be argued that the standard in the SPL is lower this year apart from Gretna. Killie looks like a great result. But time will tell if Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen are any good. Anyway we only got a good result from one of the three, and beating Falkirk may not turn out to be a fabby result either. We also lost at home to Hamilton and St Mirren.
  16. Not a big enough Travis fan to go and see them unless they were performing in my neighbour's garden. But for many ICT fans there's one song brings back happy memories of a great day out
  17. Aye AD was a gers man and DM was a jambo, but I would say in the last couple of years of Caley that was their team. Dots went back to Caley because Hearts were crap. Wish I could remember the name of the big guy who owned the flat - I can see his face. Also there was a guy they called Carter USM (unstartable sex machine....).
  18. I meant DM the painter. AD and DM did 95% of the fanzine as far as I'm concerned. Can't remember which big guy though. Either the guy who had the flat Dots lived in in Nelson St, a laid back big guy, or Duncan, who Dots said was just a jaggie anyway. He was none too pleasant and used to spit at opposing players.
  19. Are you sure about that? A few years ago they had lost touch AFAIK and while AD was in Edinburgh, DM was anywhere between Sneck and your own neck of the woods...
  20. Yngwie asked that people did not use the board to post rumours. The original thread has been hidden (not deleted) and may be reopened later. I hope that this answers some of the queries regarding removal of posts/quotes from posts.
  21. Congrats to you both. Sigh..... it seems only yesterday he was a wee laddie.
  22. I saw Feyenoord about 6 years ago and it was dearer than the SPL. So was Tenerife when they were in La Liga. Saw Barca quite cheaply though, but it's like the Yankees or the Blue Jays, your seat is up in the gods and all the other seats are bought well in advance by the members. I'd like to hear what the diddy teams at the bottom of the Premiership are charging - the ones at the top are FAR more than the SPL. I take the point about Italy and Germany but I think it's mostly a bit of a myth and you have to go well away from the Eurozone to get cheap football.
