  1. Probably Jimmy Calder! Or Esson himself at Gayfield....
  2. I suppose you can count me in as a long term griper then, even if I never had a gripe last week. Firstly I missed the game so it would be unfair to complain, and secondly I was too depressed to bother, as it's all been said before. I hope I've given a bit of credit earlier on tonight. Today - well, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Even though we have a somewhat limited squad of players (and I don't mean size of pool) I would take that kind of fight (and passing the ball) every week even if we didn't win. For you Ralph to expect people like me to turn around and say everything is now rosy is complete bollocks. The last time I saw the team fired up and playing like that was on August 9th. I don't think winning at Falkirk was in the same class, and I missed the Killie game. So far that's two high points in my season. Brewster's had well over a year, second time around, so you'll forgive me if I look for a bit more consistency.
  3. Good point about Esson and the fast breaks.
  4. Spot on. I went along hoping that would happen today. However if Hibs had scored first I was ready to suffer another drubbing. Have to report we played the ball on the deck :thumb04: Also at 2-0 up you do see the confidence spread right through the side. With 5 mins to go we were showboating up near the corner of the pitch and there was nothing Hibs could do about it. I'll swear even Garry Wood's touch improved after we went 2 up
  5. Great second goal. Chris, Imrie fed Cowie and he squared it to Black.
  6. Likewise. Just back from the game and delighted not to spend Monday avoiding Hibbys. Credit to everybody today, a bit like the Aberdeen match. The team and the manager had a lot to prove and it's a shame there wasn't a bigger support there to see it. Like Scotty, I'd say well done but one swallow etc. The Aberdeen game was 3 months ago and we've waited a long time for a performance like that.
  7. My initial response was 'Mark who?' as well. AFAIK he signed for the tims on ?6k a week for 3 years. Up to him really if he wants to put his career on hold for 3 years while piling up the dosh so he never needs to work again.
  8. Aye rite enuff DC. I had a feeling something wasnae right. Actually Roughie is imprinted on my memory for other clangers such as dropping it at Krankl's feet..... The biggest howler I saw though was when Donnachie passed it back to Jim Blyth with 3 mins to go against Wales. We were up 1-0 and Wales had hardly caused us any bother so Blythie decided he would come out for a wander
  9. He took over at Keith in a Q-Cup tie in 1991 I think. 10 man Caley beat Keith 3-0.
  10. Pea and Ham, from a chicken? Now that's clever!
  11. Whooooooooosh! If it's on his profile - why don't you find it yourself. It's visible (or not visible as the case may be) to everybody.
  12. You don't live in one of those County-style towable houses Ralphie? Honestly though, what respect does he deserve? He walked away from us, dragged his own club down, and apart from being a great player on the park for us, what else?
  13. Aye I'm sure ICT pay for your flight to training every day
  14. I think we're quite lucky we don't play Hamilton Accies till mid-January. If we played them next week at their place, fired up, they'd fancy it more than us.
  15. I agree - even if only a fraction of the gossip you hear at games, that comes from the parents and friends of players, is true.
  16. What, you mean the runs we went on after each of our 3 wins this season? Attractive football? I'll have some too please. I'll be there at Easter Road but I'll give you a prediction now. We come out fighting and get beat 2-1 with loads of hard luck stories.
  17. I've just heard Brew's excuse for a post-match interview, can I have another vote?
  18. I think you must have your head in a manger.
  19. Oh I'm getting behind the team all right. Unlike you I want to do something to stay up, ie replace the incompetent who is currently picking up a salary as a 'manager'. If only our board had the balls to do what the Tannadice board did. You'll still be happily clapping away when my/our club is in Div 1, telling us we'll never go down to Div 2. You won't mind if I refer to you as 'Ostrich' from now on.
  20. Get this man and his muppet assistant away from our football club now.
  21. My first Scotland game was 1973: Scotland 2 Czechoslovakia 1, the famous World Cup qualifier. Roughie gifted a goal to ?Nehoda then Holton equalised. Jordan scored a diving header from a Bremner cross and we all suffocated in the dust that got kicked up in those days before the Rangers end got concreted.
  22. Yep, the club has to be congratulated on this, long overdue.
  23. Totally disagree with that. We had record points and were unbeaten after the split. And even on the losing run under CC the players played with a bit of passion. I could not believe how crap we were (yet again) on Tuesday night. Agree totally.
  24. I got a letter published in the Hootsmon about 1992 or 3, when Morton was slagging off Sneckie and in particular its football teams. Just after he had his whisky series with the motorbike and he was full of himself......
