  1. Aye AD was a gers man and DM was a jambo, but I would say in the last couple of years of Caley that was their team. Dots went back to Caley because Hearts were crap. Wish I could remember the name of the big guy who owned the flat - I can see his face. Also there was a guy they called Carter USM (unstartable sex machine....).
  2. I meant DM the painter. AD and DM did 95% of the fanzine as far as I'm concerned. Can't remember which big guy though. Either the guy who had the flat Dots lived in in Nelson St, a laid back big guy, or Duncan, who Dots said was just a jaggie anyway. He was none too pleasant and used to spit at opposing players.
  3. Are you sure about that? A few years ago they had lost touch AFAIK and while AD was in Edinburgh, DM was anywhere between Sneck and your own neck of the woods...
  4. Yngwie asked that people did not use the board to post rumours. The original thread has been hidden (not deleted) and may be reopened later. I hope that this answers some of the queries regarding removal of posts/quotes from posts.
  5. Congrats to you both. Sigh..... it seems only yesterday he was a wee laddie.
  6. I saw Feyenoord about 6 years ago and it was dearer than the SPL. So was Tenerife when they were in La Liga. Saw Barca quite cheaply though, but it's like the Yankees or the Blue Jays, your seat is up in the gods and all the other seats are bought well in advance by the members. I'd like to hear what the diddy teams at the bottom of the Premiership are charging - the ones at the top are FAR more than the SPL. I take the point about Italy and Germany but I think it's mostly a bit of a myth and you have to go well away from the Eurozone to get cheap football.
  7. Must be a coincidence but the top 4 teams have come out separate anyway. Celtic, Rangers, DUFC, Falkirk.
  8. Cheers Alex. Here's to 2pm then.
  9. Forgot about Falkirk. We must be seeded 5th so will get the tims, huns, Bairns or Arabs.
  10. Don't know if anybody's noticed, but with Killie and Hamilton winning, and Rangers drawing, there's just a teensy chance of us sneaking into the top four seeded positions for Thursday's draw. That's the cue for it all to go (insert favourite fruit) shaped
  11. People who think taking on Brew was a bad move (like me) are not just coming out of the woodwork because of the result last night. I don't see where anybody on the thread is saying they've suddenly been converted by one game. Although we overcame Morton after 120 mins, we were gash for an hour of that, and were within 11 minutes of going out. Against Arbroath we went even closer. We never looked like scoring on Saturday either and it's been a similar story for most of the season. The football has been dire. If Brew keeps us up and builds on that next year, fair enough. But if we're bottom at Christmas, don't say you weren't warned.
  12. Aye, ex-Clyde, he was fired up by the Ton fans and enjoyed winding them up. I like the effort wee Dougie puts in. Got a bit more space to play it has to be said, hope he can continue to learn but I think he's being found out in the SPL at the mo. Also had an unnecessary wee flick at an opponent's ankle in the first half.
  13. Aye, who paid the 3 quid then Jakies instead of smokies.....
  14. It's obvious Pele was always the kind to walk away - as he said often in interviews, there's more important things in life than fitba. If he did have his head in the right attitude (that's a big 'if') for managing full time I'd have him back in a flash. He was successful at Elgin, Huntly and us. Leaving us was the mistake of his life and he probably knew that at the time. I'm sure he could have adapted to the SPL with us, without south based fans like me having to listen to people at work saying what a boring team we are now. As for Brew, I'm sure he's learning the trade alright, but I fear by the time he's learned it we'll be playing at places like Cappielow every week. For the record: I was at the game. Mary Hill has it spot on.
  15. No, they were in the same season. Beat Ayr 7-3 in December, and 4-3 in January. In between we had another 2 crackers where we beat Airdrie 4-0 and drew 3-3 with County when Denzil scored 2 in injury time :thumb04: What a team, bring back Pele!
  16. Wake up Craigy boy - probably the worst Hearts side I've ever seen and as far as I remember we never had a shot on target.
  17. I was never a big Bayne fan but he would be better than Barrowman, Wood and Rooney put together. Apart from the goal the defence was OK, and so was the midfield up to a point, but feck knows where we're going to get any goals this season. Imrie looked a div 1 player as usual. Anybody thinks we can function without Russell Duncan can borrow my specs. I haven't seen the table yet but I'm sure it won't make good reading.
  18. I've scored! It's Heather Mills?????????!
  19. I got this email from Laura Richardson:
  20. Ach as long as it doesnae mount your leg when you've got visitors, I wouldn't worry too much.
  21. If the whole thing turns out a flop maybe we could send Rossco over and just for a laugh give him a wee thrill belting round that thing at pace.
  22. Naw, probably just splattered with bits of Farley's rusks (probably showing my age there - do they still make Farley's rusks?
  23. That would more likely be the Highland Amateur Cup no?
