  1. ESSON MEEKINGS----WARREN----KING----G SHINNIE DRAPER----ROSS DORAN----A SHINNIE----SUTHERLAND MCKAY
  2. Libero replied to Libero's topic in Caley Thistle
I think, like the majority of fans on Saturday, Terry was getting frustrated with Sutherland and i think he may be realising that he is stronger up front than he is on the wing. Ross has made an instant impact in each game he has been brought on as a sub so i honestly think Ross may get a start. If it were my choice then i would love to try something along these lines: ----ESSON---- MEEKINGS----WARREN----KING----FORAN ----DRAPER---- ROSS------------------------------------DORAN ----A. SHINNIE---- ----OSWELL----MCKAY Going for a 4-4-2 Diamond with Draper in the holding midfield role and A.Shinnie in the deep lying forward/trequartista role that he has made his own. Ive opted for Foran at left back because having seem him in pre-season at centre half he has adapted to defensive roles very well. Also, I can remember when we first signed Foran, he was often played out wide left, he didnt have the pace to be a winger but had the tenacity to get stuck in and win tackles. For these reasons I think he offers a better defensive option at left back than Shinnie. If we are playing weaker teams then G Shinnie is great at attacking down the flank but sometimes worry that his defensive game isnt as good as his attacking. McKay has the movement, vision and pace to be a real poacher but he needs a big forward up there with him to win headers and hold up the ball, I think Oswell could do this. Meekings at RB as well because from what I have seen so far this season (including pre-season) then Meekings edges it over Raven

Found this review from a Hearts fan. Sounds like we played well and were unlucky not to score more

Quite simply the reason for my line up with Raven at RB is because that is what i predict Terry will opt for, not what i would necessarily go for though myself. IMO Ross should have started in place of Sutherland for the Killie game and Oswell whould have been given at least 30 mins up front to see if there was another way through the Killie defence With regards to the system changing. We all know Butcher well enough now that he tends to stick to preferred formations and unfortunately adaptability is not something he readily opts for. We saw it against Killie where we were bossing the game and Shiels changed things tactically and things improved vastly for them. I have rarely seen an ICT team in recent times change tactics mid-way through a game to a positive outcome

Couldnt find a thread about this anywhere else Would expect our team to line up something like this: ESSON RAVEN---WARREN---KING---G. SHINNIE ---DRAPER---FORAN--- DORAN------A.SHINNIE------ROSS MCKAY I have just heard that David Templeton has accepted a 2 match ban for kicking James McPake at the weekend so he will be out of the Hearts team for this fixture, great news for us as he is a very dangerous player on his day
  6. Well i aired my views about the Olympics before hand being a huge expense at the hands of the tax-payers and a London-centric waste of money however I am the first one to admit that I was wrong and I quickly succumbed to the allure of the games. I pretty quickly found myself becoming more and more drawn to watching events and indeed willing each and every British athlete on. By the end of the games i couldnt get enough and was indeed disappointed when it all ended on Sunday. Thoroughly enjoyed the games and was indeed a breath of fresh air to see athletes competing for pride, honour and patriotism rather than the greed and dishonesty that accompanies our nations favourite sport football. Suprisingly football despite being one of my favourite sports to watch was the one i watched least of at the Olympics Obviously delighted at how well the Scots did at the games too Its certainly made me reconsider my opinions to events like this and the commonwealth games in glasgow is a much more appealing propspect to me now
  7. Clear red card. What is abundantly clear from the photo is that Fowler would most certainly have needed a change of underwear ASAP!!
  8. I certainly noticed a couple of cars with fixed penalty notices stuck on windows, maybe 2 or 3 on cars along the far side pavement near the bridge
  9. It would be good if there was some sort of subscription service that came with the magazine, i'd certainly be willing to subscribe to the magazine if it were delivered to my door. Anyone know more about availability. Going by the pictures in the article on the official site there is an issue in print
  10. Seems to be a lot of confusing information going around about Forans suspension, i checked the SFA suspension list and it appeared that Foran only had a one game ban Numerous papers claimed it was a two game ban and ive just seen this on the official ICT site link: http://ictfc.com/news/team-news/575-youth-policy-pays-off Looks like he misses out again, i would expect therefore to see an unchanged side for this weekend with maybe only Ross for Sutherland being swapped
  11. http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/576-ictfc-launches-monthly-magazine Another good idea if you ask me, delighted to see that the club is actively trying to increase revenue streams and also engage and communicate with fans maybe someone with more knowledge of the magazine could post where/when the magazine is available?
  12. Good idea, hopefully we can put on a good show and it sways a few folk who havent renewed to buy a ticket for this season
  13. Some people on here need to kerb their attitudes!
  14. Surprised by the uproar that St Mirren fans are creating on P&B. The video is by no means conclusive but if you raise your hands to a players face then you leave the ref with little choice. The going to ground of Draper is neither here nor there, its the fact that Guy lifts his hand to our players face Incidents like this have happened to us on numerous occasions before for better or worse. The Juanjo/Lennon incident and two that i can think off involving Russell Duncan as well as one with Munro and an Aberdeen player. Happens all the time in football. Some days the decision goes against you some time it goes for you Interesting to see this post on the St Mirren forum: He didn't - me and several others saw it with our own eyes. Guy hit him in the face with a closed fist. Why do you think Guy barely protested about it? I would be spitting blood had the player cheated but he didn't. He play acted perhaps but the referee was watching the incident all the way and saw the initial punch so Guy was off in any event. ETA: Just seen the above video footage. He hits the ball but clearly follows through and smacks the player's face. Whether or not he was meaning to hit the ball, it was sheer stupidity to do that in front of the ref. He deserved all he got.
  15. Reguero out for 2-3 weeks, fracture in the bone of one of his fingers
  16. He was able to get paid, if rumours are to be believed, around 2 - 3 times as much money for doing the same job which will have allowed him to better provide for his family. How can you construe that as being some sort of mistake? I seem to recall that we offered him the best deal we could afford at the time, if St Mirren could trump that by 2-3 times then i'm not surprised he moved. I always thought ourselves and St Mirren were fairly level in terms of the wages we could offer

This youtube channel is a great idea, not only for fans wanting to relive old memories but it gives us exposure on one of the internets most popular and far reaching websites. If it brings a few quid in through advertising as well then its an added bonus
  18. Foran's suspension has been served, it was only a one match suspension
  19. Just been called up for the game vs Belgium Linky here: http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_news.cfm?page=2986&newsID=10266&newsCategoryID=1
  20. no suprises really but the kick off time has now been changed see link here: http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=s2&newsid=11536

By the sounds of it we had a pretty strong team out. Scorers were Sutherland x 2, Foran, Ross and Oswell
  22. Completely agree with this If fans who have written to the club or emailed saying that they wouldnt renew their ticket if newco was voted in and still havent renewed then can the club contact them directly to ask why they havent renewed? Would this still mean a DPA issue?
  23. fair point Yngwie, added into poll now
  24. Our season ticket sales are down 20% (see: http://www.dailyreco...86908-23914298/) and that really is quite alarming, questions should be asked as to why we are losing fans who are not renewing their season ticket. Personally I have renewed mine as I have done for the last 15 or so years I'm really interested to see if there are fans on here who are not renewing their season ticket. This is by no means a witch-hunt, just something to see where improvements can be made to retain our core support
  25. Certainly hope he's fit to make the St Mirren game. With Foran suspended and Warren not long back from injury we are very thin on the ground for central defenders
