  1. Sent you a DM CaleyD I knew there would be costs associated but had no idea whether it would make the idea unfeasible. I guess it all comes down to whether their are enough fans willing to contribute to offset the costs to run it.

  3. Havent read the entirety of this thread (probably should have) so apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere. But I thought of this idea and thought i'd air it on here anyway. This would be an easy and quick way for fans to give money to the club with minimal effort or fuss Quite often on television nowadays you see competitions run whereby a prize (more often than not cash/holiday/car) is offered and all the entrant has to do is text a 5 digit number with the answer to an incredibly easy question. The texts usually cost anything from £1.50 to £3.00 per entry and you can enter as many times as you want. If you think about the details behind the system I would imagine the money taken from text entries would be more than the prize is worth as long as the prize is desirable enough If ICT were to offer a season ticket as a prize and say entries were £2 a pop then surely we could muster more than 200 entries to turn in a profit? This could be done with any sort of prize (season ticket, new stip, day at hospitality, stadium tour, meet a player/manager etc) and could probably be run monthly. Properly marketed and advertised i'm confident this could be a potential money generator. Similarly this could be applied to donating money. A fund like 'Top up Terry's Transfer Tin' could be set up with the options of either dropping off cash/cheques to the stadium or by using the same text method as above. A 5 digit text number could be texted with the words 'DONATE 5' and £5 be donated to the club, or 'DONATE 10' and £10. many other clubs have used appeals to generate income, no reason why we cant No idea how much this would be to implement or indeed if it would be feasible but thought i would share it EDITED TO ADD: Ive found a company that offers this service so if a Mod or Site Admin wants the web address to forward on then feel free to DM for details

  5. Havent been to any pre-season games this season so hopefully the Coventry game will show what we can expect from the team Would love to see an attacking, free flowing game and i genuinely think if more teams were to adopt an entertaining style of football then attendances would definitely benefit Interesting to hear someone mention Pele earlier, games were full of drama and entertainment back then. The old school of thought that 'as long as we score more than you' was a great one IMO

  7. Its been a long time since I could honestly say that season tickets were value for money in the Scottish Football. Ticket prices in Scotland generally do not represent value for money due to the nature of our game (long ball games with little entertainment, over reliance on physicality, lacking in skill, flair or atmosphere) IMO entertaining games are free flowing, attacking, atmospheric, dramatic and noisy games and if they were more frequent then tickets may become better value for money and we may have more fans attending games. Sadly the days of these appear to be long gone
  8. impossible to grow tired of Stewartys second goal
  9. Think what was meant was 18 seniors and 6 young uns
  10. Think it might well have been actually
  11. Completely agree. Also i think having a load of loan players who's ultimate loyalty is back to their parent team cant help with creating a strong team ethic
  12. I remember someone having an avatar that was taken during a 10 minute intense blizzard that hit TCS a few seasons ago, think Mihadjuks was in the picture. Typical 4 seasons in one day on that particular day

  14. I'm certainly hoping that having the squad pretty much assembled a few weeks before the season starts mean that we hit the ground running this season. We were still adding faces to the team once the season started last year and this could not have aided team unity. Hopefully with a smaller group of players and a decent pre-season all together we can return to the days where ICT was about team unity, spirit and togetherness
  15. Just found this about King from 2007 If he can stay injury free then he may well be a decent acquisition. Not many of our current squad have commanded fees of £200k in their careers. May well be able to provide cover at left back as well
  16. Simon King: http://en.wikipedia....ng_(footballer)
  17. Like the idea about the Fraser save, that was truly an unbelievable save Going back quite a few years any photos of Iain Stewart doing one of his legendary chips to score would be great. Quite a few goals against Celtic stick out, any from the 3-1 win in 2000. Cowies finish and Procors bullet header in the 3-2 win in 2003. Munro's half volley days after he was told his contract wasnt being renewed. Few against Rangers, Hayes run and howitzer last season, Rankin's rocket in the fixture in between Christmas and new year a few years back. Blacks penalty at Ibrox... Icons for me: Pele, Robbo getting us to the SPL, Barry Wilson, Stewart, Denzil, Sheerin, Munro, Calder, Tokely.... few from more recent times Juanjo, Rooney
  18. Its definately a grower. When i saw it yesterday i really wasnt a fan, dont mind it today, i'm sure by the time i see the team play in it i'll like it
  19. If thats the case then it makes a mockery out of signing Winnal and Chippendale last year. They were used less than sparingly so it begs the question was it worth signing them on loan. I dont mean from a quality point of view, because i thought Winnal would have done a job if he had a run in the team, i just mean from an initial signing requirement and financil outlay
  20. I wonder out of all the loan signings we had last year were we responsible for any % of their wages or if it was a deal whereby we didnt pay anything but in return gave the loanee much needed experience?
  21. Just got to hope that we dont have the same injury problems as last year. Have to say i am eager to see how are younger players get on in the SPL, there is certainly potential there so hopefully they can adapt quickly and push on to make an impact
  22. May well be but I sense others may be in a lot worse shape come the season kick-off I certainly hope others are fielding such inexperienced and small squads, this season is going to be a real dog eat dog battle to stay up.
  23. Terrys column in todays Press and Journal gives a small update on our squad rebuilding process, he says that our budget has been affected by the announcements of last week and that while he wants to add Simon King to the squad that will be it. He also says that he plans to run with a squad of 18 for next season, supplemented by youngsters from the U20 squad. Going to be a long season i think
  24. Wonder how long it will take for Regan and Doncaster to roll out their SPL2 idea.....despite the crucial decision being made today, this debacle is far from over
