Munro & Duncan Testimonial Match
Had a great day out yesterday, really enjoyed the game and it was great seeing the old legends on the park again I do agree with the posters on here who are disappointed with Butchers no-show, i was personally disappointed he didnt show. A lot of the current first team squad were there, in the hospitality suites and they had no role in the proceedings of the day, quite rightly so, as it was a day for Grant and Russell. Absolutely no reason why Butcher couldnt have done the same. No reason why he couldnt have made his presence known but as a spectator and to show support for two outstanding servants to ICT. Yesterday was not a day about feuds or personality clashes or the fact that it was Butchers choice not to offer Grant and Russell new contracts it was about honouring two loyal players who have been outstanding servants and IMO vastly under-rated players for ICT. I have been a staunch supporter of Butcher for the majority of his tenure here however there have been quite a few instances this season that have left a sour taste in my mouth. While i still have some faith that he can turn our fotunes round after a dismal season my patience wont last forever

Neil Lennon
Seriously????? I did not know that!!!!! Like you said, i actually physically shudder at the thought! If he thinks he has it tough at Celtic with the referees not giving his team decisions then imagine what he would be like given our year of refereeing circus acts!

Livi season ticket pricing
Great idea, embarassing to see SFL1 clubs implementing such an innovative ticket system. I wish ICT was as pro-active in trying to entice fans to watch us

U20 League to start next season.....
Hadnt really thought about it that way but it offers a very good reason for using an U20 league over a reserve league. Having a team in a reserve league full of older fringe players (who are merely looking for game time to keep fit) is not going to give youth players any chaplaying time to improve or gain any experience at all. I think this will force clubs to basically use their youth team as their reserve team. I hadnt viewed that way until your post sorted but youve raised a very good point Interesting to see that in the last season or so that is exactly what has happened at ICT with our injury problems. Youth players like Ross, Sutherland, Shinnie and Morrison all coming in to cover injuries and even Polworth making the bench last season due the fact we have a very small playing squad.

SPL NewCo Rules Situation
Racking up tens or even hundreds of millions of pounds of debt with no intention of ever paying it back boils down to cheating and if clubs are able to get away with it by setting up a newco then it defeats the whole purpose of having a league competition in the first place. If the current club who are being linked with a newco are allowed to do so then i sincerely hope that there are severe implications for them. If there arent then i strongly think i would lose any urge to follow my team in a sham league. Given the choice i would rather watch my team in the Highland League than in an SPL that condones cheating The SPL is one of the most uncompetitive leagues in the world given that there were/are only two clubs capable of winning it, if it were to allow clubs to win leagues/cups based on cheating the tax system then it would make us even more of a laughing stock than we currently are at the moment!

U20 League to start next season.....
full story here: http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/aberdeen/303285-spl-to-create-under-20-league/ I'm pretty sure that Terry had indicated that he would prefer the reintroduction of the reserve league as opposed to the U20 league Does anyone actually know how this differs from the U19 we have at presently Will this really gap the bridge in development between youth players and first team players? Not in my opinion Seems a lot of faff if the only change is going to be allowing youngsters so play year longer in the youth league Bring back the reserve league if you ask me

The Masters 2012
Didnt back a winner here unfortunately, dont think many folk would have backed the masters to finish the way it did so fair play to anyone who did I read a story yesterday about a punter who backed Bubba at incorrect odds of around 1000-1, the bookie made a mistake in printing the slip and quoted Tom Watsons odds of 1000-1 instead of Bubbas actual odds of 40-1. the bookie paid out on the 40-1 odds leaving the punter a little annoyed to say the least!

New rules Proposal
Quite amusing that Rangers fans feel they are hard done by yet other SPL fans deem this prospective 'punishment' too light. I think Rangers fans feel that the pain of suffering a 10 point deduction in the SPL and seeing the league go to their fiercest rivals is enough punishment however the severity of their financial dealings from the last ten years means that whether they like it or not they are going to suffer a long time for their actions and quite rightly so If it so happens that a newco is formed and they are allowed re-entry to the SPL then IMO they should be prepared to accept any restrictions/point deductions that come their way. No club should ever be allowed to rack up so much debt through financial mis-management and be able to wipe out their debt/problems in a matter of months through a CVA or newco option. There must be punishment to fit the crime here Only by the threat of strong punishments will clubs be deterred from using tax dodges in the future. Whether the proposals of the SPL/SFA are the correct ones is a completely different question!

MacGregor Comments?!?!
The comments, IMO, are clearly a dig at the achievements of ICT and smack of jealousy that we got the the SPL before them. Whilst his comment may be factually correct we have both played and won our way through the divisons and have grown substantially over the last couple of decades, the fact remains that we were first to do it however. Seeing as there is no pyramid system in Scotland connecting junior and amateur leagues then we both effectively started at the bottom so his comments dont really hold any credence. Both ourselves and County have done fantastically well to reach the upper echelons of Scottish football, we did it first in the Highlands, anyone who doesnt like will just have to deal with it!
-
Our oldest rivalry
I admire what they have done because, like ourselves, they have had a pretty quick rise to the top given our failry humble beginnings. However, while they may not have had similar assistance to us from INE or the local council it cannot be claimed that they have got as far as they have on the back of hard work alone alone. I would be very interested to see how much money County have thrown at wages and signing players over the last 10 years. They have got where they are through a combination of hard work and a benefactor with a wealth of resources to call upon when needed. Not many clubs would have the financial backing to remain a full time club if they were relegated to the second division! Other first division managers have been very vocal (Pressley to name one) in claiming that County have far greater resources available to them than other first division clubs so while they must be congratulated on their success the background on how they have been able to achieve it should not be forgotten

That club from Dingwall
Well done County, a hard fought championship in a tough league to get out of Have to say I am really looking forward to the derbies next season

Rangers go into administration
Of all the sports i have spectated at in recent times, and there have been quite a few, I have to say that football is without a shadow of a doubt the least value for money of all of them. I can count on one hand how many times ive been to football games in the last 5 years or so and felt that i got value for money, incidentlally none of those times have been in Scotland!
