most hilarious post i have ever read on here!
  2. Good move! Frees up a wage for perhaps a more capable player
  3. I was just on the official site looking for prices for non season ticket holders, but couldnt find any info? Is there any info on the various pay at the gate prices to be found?

If i recall correctly, the burnley strip isnt a fashion statement, it is a remake of their strip form 50 years ago, to commemorate when they were the then Div I champs.
  6. Classic blast from the past that!! :(

My only concern about the Setanta collapse, is for the tasty chic that used to go around with the cameramen at games.

The Buckie game i reffered to was in INverness...maybe it was in retaliation for that incident you reffered to DC, or perhaps the cause? I too remember the QC finals in Nairn and Elgin. Among the leaders/characters i remember in them days, were Scobbies, Mackies (RIP) Canyon, Claud and the likes. Were you pally with them?

Nah.....the Buckie skirmish was a midweek game if i remember correctly. Loads of cops and police dogs ended up on the scene. The Blue Toon took place in sneck too. we chased em down towards Clach Park for some reason. Ad just like to add...that i wasnt really involved, more just an curious bystander. i always did let my nose lead me into bother

Well.....in an old book (might have been the Inverness Caledonian centenary special) or In A Different League by Rod Clyne (which incidentally...i believe now is worth a princely sum), it mentions a midweek game around the 80s, where there were 82 in attendance. Me and my mate were among em! I was Caley daft. Would sometimes go down on a sunday to help clean the ground, in the hope of finding a programme from the day befores game. More often than not, i did. Would reguarly attend training on a Monday and Thursday night and go chase the balls for em, and get rewarded with half an orange with the players at the break. I am like you DC....part of my passion for football went wen the merger came, and i dont think it will ever be recaptured to the same degree. Also got caught up in a few scraps over the years. Running battles with Buckie and Peterhead spring to mind, and yeah...Elgin was my most hated team. Funny how now i couldnt give a flying hoot about them. I hate Ross Co now
  12. Yeah Stevie, i would have rather kept Danny at the expense of Mike Smith AND Grassa. Danny is highly regarded.....the other two ICT could manage just fine without IMHO

The important thing is you support them now K. Hopefully you have the bug now and continue to back them even tho they have regressed for the first time ever, even tho its better fun in the lower leagues!!

Just got to wondering...before ICT came into being, where did your football loyalties lye. This isnt about Caley vs Thistle, Am just curious as to how many on here were actual regularly supporting (in the financial sense) Inverness football pre merger. Or, if you like...trying to to sniff out the glory hunters Or maybe you couldnt be arsed with the standard of footie on offer pre merger? If you came to support ICT, but have no link to Inverness...whats yer reason? I was a keen Caley fan since late 70s
  15. ok...cool...so....what are his expenses likely to cost? can an educated guess be made based on any official figures?
  16. I thought our DoF basically was on an expenses only agreement as it was.....which i thought totalled about ?50 000 last year?
  17. Just saw on Sky Sports that Robbo is up for the Motherwell job. Think he could do a decent job for them.
  18. They just seem to jump from one financial mess to another. Maybe the whole concept of another team from Lothian is doomed or cursed. First it was Ferranti Thistle, DOOMED.....then became Meadowbank THistle, DOOMED and then became Livingston FC, seemingly CURSED
  19. Aye......wonder how much our highly experinced DoF played in the whole Marius debacle
  20. I like this bit..... Mr Sutherland's drive and determination saw his firm Tulloch built two new stands in 45 days to enable Caley Thistle to meet the SPL deadline and take up their place in the top flight in 2004. Amazing that...considering his company took about 15 months to fit a kitchen in my old work! :)
  21. he is in a no win situation. because...............way back in the 80s....Aberdeen had a run of four years relative sucsess. Problem is...because of that...Aberdeen fans reckon they are a world footballing power, and refuse to accept their real position in the food chain!
  22. Lets reserve judgement untill we see the guy in action. I think Tel has a good eye for talent! I never saw much of Vigurs....but he very much got mixed reviews from my mates, who are/were season ticket holders at TCS. The views ranged from Ok to pish!
  23. I hope England get to South Africa....then get humped 10-0 in every game! Hard to believe that in another year, its time for another World Cup Finals. Doesn't seem like 3 yrs since the last Finals

Totally agree with that...and i would go one step further...I would enforce a cap on wages. ANY person in the world, who couldnt survive off say ?10 000 per week MAXIMUM.....should cut their losses and get a dose of reality. Also....it would hopefully bring down admission prices!
  25. Krista is my sons teacher in Kinmylies Primary.....and......i actually used to help my mate babysit her and her brother at times...way back in the 80s!
