  1. Being a patron of Glasgow and having worked and known most of the security in the Glasgow clubs, I do know the reason why Boyd isn't played. However, I cannot reveal it on here due to it being a "rumour" and most definelty being slanderous.
  2. Just read this on another forum and provides for some interesting reading. It describes a problem that a Falkirk fan had on a visit to Parkhead in the away support. He took the initiative and wrote to the club, as well as some others, describing the situation, also details the response. What I think we should all take from this, is that if we ever have a problem at Parkhead (or any other club for that matter) we should all write to the respective clubs, as well as the footballing authority, and hopefully this will kick start something. "A disgrace. I paid ?25 for an unrestricted viuew, and was told to "sit anywhere you like"" when I got in. No unrestrcited view seats left, and the steward would as well ha ve been an extra frpom the laurel and hardy show. Eventually they opened another bit uip, and let us in there, but I paid for a seat I didn't get and will be claimning my money back through the sale of goods act. Imagine at a state of the arrt stadium there even being restricted view, let alone hte eekits not even being able to organise where you're sitting! wallopers." " A wee update. On Tuesday I wrote to Peter Lawwell about this situation. I also sent a copy of the letter to George Craig, MD at Falkirk and Iain Blair, Ops Director at the SPL. I heard back from George Craig immediately. Today I've also had a letter back from Iain Blair, telling me to ensure any future correspondence on the matter is sent for his personal attention. He also copied Lawwell and Lex Gold in on the letter. Progress to follow." "Finally received a reply from Celtic, after having to write again dry.gif Usual pish, really sorry, steward identified, counselled and reprimanded, look to improve standards, screen was broken not switched off, blah blah blah. Offered a free ticket to the next Falkirk game at Parkhead though, which is at least something."
  3. During my student days, living in Glasgow I had to pick and choose my games carefully as money wasn't really that free, infact I did manage to attend a fair few of away matches which certainly hurt the food budge for that week at least. When I decide to go to a match, I try to mix value for money with entertainment, and Rangers and Celtic matches (especially at home) are some of the more desirable games to go to. Now that I work in the offshore industry, I can't attend as many games as I like to and in the current climate money again becomes a problem. As for your question. These extra fans are either rangers or celtic fans, or people who want to see Rangers or Celtic play as they are meant to have the best players. They aren't 'part-time' fans at alll.
  4. I couldn't afford the flight home. Not that if I could afford it I would pay it.
  5. Are you not going to tell us what the gesture was?
  6. I had the pleasure of interviewing Steve when I was in 3rd year as part of my course. ICT, when they were actually good at PR, invited me to the stadium for a day, Pele called me to arrange an interview and I got a tour of the dressing rooms, ground and got to meet a few of the players at that time. He was very patient, friendly and accomodating, and treated me and my friend with respect and answered the questions in a very indepth manner whilst keeping the answers easy for me to understand. Also met him again whilst he was manager of Forres, but this time it was a post match post drink occasion. Still very friendly, but the speed at which he drank was shocking. On the same not, Neil Simpson and Nicky Walker are both two top blokes. I have met them two through football, when I used to play in the same team as Neil's son, and Nicky used to (not sure if he still does) manage a local schools team near Arbroath (Speyside Academy?) when I used to referee the school matches of Forres Academy.

Can someone explain what was meant to have clicked for me please
  8. That was a rumour from last week started by a County fan. As for a chant? 'Doddsy can't predict a thing, Billy Dodds cant predict a thing'
  9. While I hope he recovers, this is the part that galvanised me most about this story; "The ?4,000-a-week course Mr Paterson is on is being funded by the English PFA, whom the former defender was a member of between 1975 and 1981. ?They have not turned their back on me,? he added." And I have to ask this question, where are they with Gazza?
  10. Dundee United v Inverness CT Dundee United v Inverness CT United are making good progress in the league which shows you what confidence can do you for you - even when you've not playing too well. I would expect a United victory in this match even though Inverness can make it difficult for teams. The visitors got a great win last weekend but Tannadice is a hard place to go. I think Inverness will score in this game but United will come through in the end. Prediction: 2-1

I never said there was a problem with it, was just curious in how we could maybe use it to the communities advantage, have a different member comment each week or something?
  12. EWS replied to EWS's topic in Caley Thistle
And they get comments from the site every week?

Shamelessly stolen from another forum, but I thought this was a great thing to have. SPL Fanzone from the Edinburgh Evening news How long have they been getting things from this site?

I think we'll be waiting a long time for "BBC Pictish"....however, in the meantime I'm happy for us to support our Irish cousins by promoting Gaelic, especially if it means we get a full televised ICT game. Very controversial. I know of lots of people who will claim there is a difference bettwen Gaelic and Galic.
  15. What did I miss?

I have a feeling that the comment was made severely tongue in cheek

I think that every member of this community who chastised the admin and the moderators for the so called 'censorship' should be feeling ashamed this morning. Suprise, suprise, nothing has appeared in the fine upstanding rag about anything other then our match yesterday (which we won, by the way, people seemed to have overlooked that). The admins do a great job here, and the unfounded drivel that was being banded about yesterday is nothing new, but will never become old. Rumours like these damage our club's spirit, community and support. Whilst we can criticise our team, board and staff, their private lives should remain that, private. Everyone, including myself, enjoys a good scandal, but when it becomes unfounded and detrimental, I lose faith in some. I hope that there are some people on this forum who woke up this morning, eagerly rushed to the shop, and came back feeling ashamed and red in the face. This is not the place to discuss absolute ***** (pardon) like that, it never has and it never will. Shame on you.

Well all my adverts are in Dutch, how do you think I feel about that?
  20. Have I missed something? Has JC gone?
  21. You sound like a St Mirren fan.
  22. I don't think there is enough demand for a bus from the central belt.
  23. On the well old forum there was a member called Coia, and he used to run a bus (nicknamed the Coia Bus). But there were some 'problems' that I don't think anyone should go into and he left, he is occasionally seen at matches now. Coia gave me a lift to the Ayr match as he lives in Glasgow and so do I. The 'Coia Car' was a play on the 'Coia Bus'
  24. The last great away days I have been too were Ayr in the cup (remember the conga?) courtesy of the 'Coia Car' and Partick in the cup as well. However, I have not yet been to a home match and actually enjoyed the atmosphere, all the best atmosphere has come at away days.
  25. Motherwell and Hearts have not been playing very well recently, not too sure about Dundee Utd. We could very well get another humping off of Celtic this year.
