A rare show of emotion Mr. Bannerman - congratulations! Soooo, what have we been on tonight, as Mr Beattie might say?
  2. I'm a wee bit concerned about his kicking. Can't knock his confidence though. Did anyone notice his throws though - on at least 3 occasions on Saturday a well-placed throw led to a shooting opportunity at the other end. He's got vision - that's for sure.
  3. We ALWAYS beat Celtic in the Scottish Cup! The only team with a 100% record against them in that competition. Semi-finals here we come!!! :003: :003:
  4. He certainly caught the eye when he came on yesterday - really got stuck in!
  5. Yeah, but just wait till we lose 5 games on the trot and we'll hear the harbingers of doom and relegation crawling out of the woodwork again! :015:
  6. Anyway, what does RiG stand for?? :024:
  7. I beg to differ! We don't want Partick - we've got a cr@p record against them in the Cup. Celtic will do - we ALWAYS beat them in the Scottish Cup. I'd feel quite confident of our chances against Livi too! :003:
  8. Great goal. Duncan and Dods particularly solid. Rosscoe had a few flashes of brilliance, and that run of course. Wilson was generally impressive, though not at his best. Fascinating duel between Hastings and Samuel, with the former coming out on top. But Fraser - oh dear! Some great saves, but whenever he kicked that ball out my old ticker missed a beat or 2. A bit more height please Mike!!! Second half was dire except for the last few minutes where we actually threatened, sometimes.
  9. Oh sh!t! That means we'll be selling Dargo at the end of the season. And one of the OF will make an offer for Hastings. Are you sure it was "Doonhamers" he said and not "Queens"?
  10. Say what you like - he was still one of the best players on the park today. And yes, he's a ****!
  11. We're right, Kingsmills, you and me: I'm afraid on this occasion DJS has got it wrong. Unless there was another game in the mid 70s with same scoreline. But if there was, I know for sure that I wasn't at it. ****, you must have been in short trousers then DJS!!! :015:
  12. Well it says k.o. 7p.m. on the poster so it must have been. Hence my reference to my dodgy memory! :003:
  13. I remember watching Caley v. Hearts about that time in a pre-season friendly. Score was, I think 3-2 to Hearts. As I remember they were either 3-1 or 3-0 up and Caley scored late on to set up an exciting finish. Only thing is, I remember it as an afternoon kick-off. Mind, I'm getting old! Funny you should remember the Celtic sprogs arriving, Kingsmills, I remember that too - one of them shouted something at Eamonn Bannon as he was preparing to take a corner and he grinned and swore at him. Hmmmm!
  14. I have absolutely no problem with us raiding County and picking the cream of the crop. Ross County are undoubtedly the 2nd team in the Highland area and the natural step up for ambitious players with potential is to join the top team in the Highland area. Eventually they might move onwards (and probably southwards). Until we are capable of producing all our own players from our own youth set-up, which, lets face it, is very unlikely, that will always be the most natural and likely route for aspiring, north-based players.
  15. "Just shows how far we've come . . . . . " :006:
  16. Yeah, I know. It'll be Barry John Corr!

    Hastings

Remember we were mid-table 1st division at the time. He actually went to Holland and I think it was Austria to broaden his horizons. I think you're making too much of the short spell he spent with County! :018: And of course he came back to us in the end. Thankfully!
  18. Missed out Dunfermline too! :015: :015: :015: Us wee teams should stick together!

    Hastings

Can't believe the flak Hastings gets in these forums. He's undeniably one of our best players and will be a huge loss if he leaves. Will he ever be forgiven for having a bit of ambition a few years ago and attempting to play at a higher level? Probably not, because there's some bitter, pedantic people about. OK, so it didn't work out in the end - thankfully he came back to us, a greatly improved player. How come Barry Wilson seems to be so readily forgiven for defecting to Livingston? And playing for Ross County? The 2 teams we hate most! Apart from Elgin City. And Gretna. Oh yeah, and the OF. . . . .
  20. Will he survive the customary verbal abuse from the North Stand? There's no denying Bullock is a good keeper and, with his experience, could oust young Fraser before he reaches his full potential, resulting in, as someone previously speculated, Fraser's departure. I for one am willing to live with the odd inevitable stutter in Mike's performances while he gains first team experience, and wish to see him retaining his role at least until the end of the season. I just feel that Bullock would offer too much competition and should only be appointed if he accepts he will only be 2nd choice, which is unlikely. Could be wrong but I think Fraser has a lot of potential and will be a huge loss if he leaves.
  21. Why do people persist in starting such provocative threads??? Don't they realise that in some cases this can be like a red rag to a bull????? Personally, I like Runrig! :001:
  22. I gather there's a clause in the contract which states we get £5k for every penalty he saves. Not much doing there then!
  23. I hear Tony Bullock is looking for a move . . . . . ! :003: But seriously though, what about Barry John Corr - QOS keeper, ex-Celtic and greatly under-rated. Not very happy at QOS, apparently, and a useful back-up to Mike Fraser.
