The best strike pairing
Thankfully the team's fortunes seem to have changed over the last few games. Personally I thought it was little more than a run of bad luck more than anything. I didn't at anytime start to think it was the beginning of the end or join in the C.C. bashing (he says smuggly :003:) However I do feel that a small part of the turnaround could be down to the Bayne/Wyness pairing. They appear to compliment each other pretty well. Against Rangers in particular I thought they were superb. I've not got it in for Craig Dargo, genuinly think he's a good player, he certainly scored plenty of goals for us last season, for which I will be eternely grateful. In fairness he developed a good partnership with Denzil for a spell last term but they haven't looked so good since that spell. I'll no' be happy if either Bayne or Wyness is dropped for Dargo, this pair deserve a decent run (I doubt they've partnered each other more than 2 or 3 times since they've arrived at the club)

Black a liability
Aye you're right enough. Whilst I don't like to see neddy behaviour, I thought IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER summed up the Black saga beautifully "feck sake he only kicked a feckin ball away" :015:

Charlie Christies substitutions.
Hi Brimsie, welcome to the board. I appreciate what your saying re-Sutherland, most fans would probably like to see a wee bit more of him. In Christie's defence though he could qoute the Killie game last month, delicately poised and Sutherland comes on and almost immediatly gives away what turned out to be the deciding penalty. Personally I want too see more of Zander but I'm happy to wait until the time is right, I'm not sure the time was right on Monday.

Black a liability
After watching the incident on Setanta last night (I wasn't at the game) I feel the whole thing has been blown out of proportion, I appreciate that it's very annoying when you've spent all the money, time and effort going to the match, and that Black has a duty to behave. I can't believe he'll be sacked for this. I'd like him to be heavily fined and Christie to tell him that this behaviour at Inverness will not be tolerated. Blackie is young and a great talent, hopefully the management can give him a bit of guidence, begfore any thoughts of booting him. You know what will happen if he were released...he end up being a thorn in our flesh playing for some other club.

DEFEAT AGAINST MIDDEN

DEFEAT AGAINST MIDDEN
IHE, I think you'll be okay after a few drams tonight :001:

Today's defeat- The real reason...
Aye I know RiG, I wasn't being totally serious. Having said that, a day extra recovery time for an athlete, does make a fair difference.

Today's defeat- The real reason...
...The players were b u g g e r e d after the superhuman effort they put in, in the Rangers match on Wednesday. Falkirk, on the other hand, had an extra day's rest, having played and been beaten by StMirren on Tuesday. Och I don't know, maybe I'm just looking for excuses, but it must genuinly be difficult to raise your game again so soon after a great night. Tell you what, though, we can test out the theory again at the St Mirren match. By all accounts they've ran their heart out at Ibrox today in their 1-1 draw, whilst we've had our wee rest in Falkirk !!

Black a liability
I'm with you here DavieB. It would be a great shame to lose such a promising talent. Surely something can be done. Talent like Blackie doesn't come along too often. I'm just hoping C.C. can work a bit of man management on the wee b u g g e r and sort him out. I assume C.C. will make him watch the St.Mirren game and no' let him head for Edinburgh for New Year !

Shock Win ?
More comedy from the Daily Record in the player ratings:- Wyness 5 (out of 10) Unbelievable !!!

ICT V Rangers - matchday thread
Phenominal night. That really was fantastic. Some great performances out there. Bayne and Wyness up front were great. Blackie and John Rankin were top drawer. In fact everyone of the boys deserves a mention. Delighted for CC, hopefully he'll get a bit of piece now :001:

Give Charlie 5 more games
Have a look at the Falkirk predicition :004: B l o o d y h e l l ! What's happening the team have totally collapsed. Och well let's look on the bright side, nobody will be coming in for Darren Dodds, with him being part of a defence that's shipping goals at this rate !
-
Give Charlie 5 more games
I've just seen on Gringo's prediction column that you're going for 8-0 Rangers Bonzo. That's unbelievable, a better joke than the one you made earlier about CC learning Italian being helpful for an Ice cream van business venture with his redundency :015:

Give Charlie 5 more games
Well said Jake. Five more games? I hope we're looking at replacements now, possibly eating a bit of humble pie and talking to our best ever manager, Robbo. I'm very much afraid that the next few days will see some ICT records smashed. New record defeat tonight. New record low crowd on Monday. Bonzo do you really think we're heading for a record defeat tonight ? You think Rangers will take 6 off us tonight ?

Second Bottom
I think the "we're lucky" or "we're unlucky" thing is just simply down to the way you feel. Like wether you're pessimistic about the club or optimistic. Some folk say that a hole-in-one (i'm talking golf here!) is lucky, it could be argued though that, that is what you were going for and in fact anything other than a hole-in-one is unlucky !

A PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE
I.H.E............. I tread very warily here 'cause I know you're hurtin' and at this time of year I don't want to be on the end of a IHE wrath rant, but surely all will be well when Pressley takes up his coaching role.

Whinging
By the same token EWS, those who come on and praise the team can come in for some stick ! Oh and sorry to be a pain in the erse but Falkirk was our last win.

Charlie Christie in the Sunday Times
Good article. I remember thinking when Charlie took the job that he would be peeing against the wind before too long. The club was progressing at an incredible rate of knots and sadly it wouldn't be able to keep this up. It didn't matter who took the job, there would have to be some kind of levelling off. If a manager in any walk of life is looking for a job, he's ideally loking for a business that he can turn around and make his mark on. I mean what mug will follow Alex Ferguson at Man U. As far as I'm concerned CC is doing well, hey I'm not saying for one minute that I can't see that the team aren't playing particulary well just now. People nowadays don't seem to allow their club to have a lean spell without sacking the boss.

"Charlie Isn't The Man For The Job"
Sack Christie after a few dissapointing results ? I can assure you my head isn't buried ! To sack CC just now, would be an outrage. (in my opinion)

Hmm
Graham Bayne MUST partner Denzil on Wednesday. He's the one who has invariably scored the goals in the big games this season, Aberdeen at home, and Ibrox and Tynecastle. I don't think we'll have to worry too much about the form book here, we're at home and although Rangers are on form and we're not, the game will, as they say , look after itself. Hopefully a win or a draw will turn our season around

"Charlie Isn't The Man For The Job"
A very good point Johnboy.
-
Line up for Saturday?
Obviously I can see where you're coming from John, but I really don't fancy Darren up front, I'd leave his striking sorties confinded to Corners. Graham Bayne will hopefully get his confidence back with a goal tomorrow. Also I think we should give Brown another game before any consideration of Fraser replacing him
-
"Charlie Isn't The Man For The Job"
Okay Bonzo we all know how you feel, but to expect CC to resign tomorrow, even if Inverness win at Dunfermline is ridiculous, if he was inclined to do that, then he'd be as well handing in his resignation now. Granted the team is on a poor run but they're not in dissaray. And attendances don't appear to be down to me. We had 3700 against Killie last week. Last time they came up (feb) it was 3600. 3 weeks ago Motherwell came up and we got 3600, last visit was 3100

The Most Important Game In Three Years
Aye, you're right. I was thinking basically the same. A win could see the confidence return and an end to the worries. A defeat would probably send confidence rock bottom, and the scrap would begin.
