Celtic -V- Inverness CT
The commentators were cringeworthy. Liked the bit where their boy clattered into Brill and they accused Brill of playacting and causing the injury himself!! Would've taken a point before the match, but really disappointed we didn't take all 3 in the end. Still, a nice run of games coming up now, so let's hope we can build on our excellent start.

Inverness CT -V- Motherwell
Fantastic first half. Some of our attacking football was a joy to watch. We cut them apart time after time, and if we'd been a bit more clinical, we could've had a couple more before half time. Second half was dull by comparison, as they came into it, but never threatened. Superb start to the season, I'd be more than delighted with a point next week. As good as Foran was yesterday, I'd have given my MOTM to Warren. He was immense, especially in the second half.

We seem to freeze on the big occasions..felt like the semi final all over again. I've got a bad feeling we're going to have to rely on Motherwell doing us a favour as I'm not sure we'll get the win up there next week. So many wasted chances, shooting opportunities not taken, and poor crosses into the box. Said it last week, but I'll say it again..Doran was mince! I really wont lose any sleep if he doesnt sign a new contract. Ross had a bright first half, but disappeared in the second. Both Shinnies were fantastic, Graeme was my MOTM. If we get a penalty next week who's going to take it??

Wonderfully entertaining game, between two attacking teams. at 3-0 we should've buried it as we had a few chances for a 4th, but we let them back into it. The sending off really changed the game, and you'd have thought we'd won the league when Billy slotted in the winner. As dull as games against St. J are, games against Motherwell always seem to be great entertainment. I know I'll get my head bit off here but just a few points. When has Billy ever scored when through one on one with a keeper?? He seems to turn into the proverbial rabbit in the headlights and always ends up fluffing it. He should get down the park with his mates during the summer and practice...and practice more!! In saying that, as long as he keeps scoring it doesnt matter how he puts them away. Doran...never been sure about him. He gets himself into good positions but his crossing is really terrible at times. Also, I'm not sure where the Hogg love in has come from, but I thought he looked really suspect yesterday. Fair enough, he's been out a long time, but he was like this before he got injured. He has a few major errors in him every game, which usually end up costing us. He got himself the wrong side of their player for the penalty, and whether he dived or not, Hogg shouldn't have let him into that position. He sloppily gave the ball away a few times after that as well, which nearly proved costly. A bit harsh maybe, but I've never been overly impressed with him, even when he was at Hibs. Anyway, that win sets us up nicely for next week, and hopefully we'll clinch that European spot before we head to Dingwall.

As said, a really entertaining game I thought, with some good football being played by both teams. First half I thought we were slightly the better, but didn't create any clear cut chances. Nor did they. They came into it more in the second half, and Daly had a clear header to put them ahead..but missed. Shinnie had a similar chance at the other end. That was it really in terms of clear cut chances. Devine made two outstanding challenges, and was a well deserved MOTM. Meekings wasn't far behind. I have to give credit where it's due as well...I thought Willo Flood was outstanding. Everything comes through him, he breaks up play brilliantly, and his passing was near enough perfect all night.

To e honest, as bad as we played, we should've still won that comfortably. McKays one on one in the first half, him and Foran having decent headed chances as well. I'm just going to assume Billy didnt want to score yesterday as that miss in extra time was one of the worst I've ever seen. All he had to do was stroke it into the net first time. It was wide open for him! Quite unbelieveable. As for Roberts penalty...oh dear. At the end of the day we chose yesterday, of all days, to have an off day, against what for me, is one of the worst Hearts teams I can remember seeing.

Long ball game?
I too thought the occasion got to us, and we froze on the day. We seemed lethargic, off the pace, and second to most balls. Instead of our usual rapid counter attacking style we've become used to we struggled to move the ball forward with any pace and consequently resorted to just lumping it up to McKay...which was painful to watch.

Persistent Fouling
I notice someone mentioning this briefly in the matchday thread, but just wondered if anyone knew what the rules on this are? To me, and my two mates, Ngoo should've been sent off long before the end yesterday as the number of free kicks he conceded must've been close to half the total given yesterday! Everytime he got pulled up again I fully expected the ref to pull out a second yellow and make him walk. Pretty much all the fouls given against him were for the similar offences...backing in, elbows, climbing etc. Now up until his wee spat with Warren he'd already been penalised a load of times, and he'd have surely got booked for persistent fouling sooner rather than later. After the spat...he continued doing the same thing. He must've given away at least 10 fouls AFTER the booking, Any amateur refs know the score on this?

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Brilliant news. Never doubted he would leave us, as i posted earlier in the thread!!! Phew.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Just politeness on his part! That's the nice guy Terry is.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
He could, potentially take us to 2 cup finals and Europe, so he' s taken us nowhere near to how far he could. plenty of unfinished business here, and I think it.'ll take a far bigger club than Barnsley to tempt him from an area he clearly loves.

Who would possibly want to leave the beauty of Abriachan for....Barnsley???? Fully confidant he' 'll stay.

ICT -V- St Mirren
Brilliant game, best of the season for me. Would've been harsh on either side to lose. Both teams looked dangerous going forward and it could easily have ended up 5-5. We certainly had more of the chances, but poor finishing combined with some outstanding saves from Samson kept us at bay. In saying that they could've scored a couple in the space of 2 minutes at the end! A.Shinnie was absolutely immense, really driving forward at pace all game and his goal was a cracker. Unfortunately I've noticed several times this season how his brother, as good as he is going forward, tends to lose his man defensively all to often. Teams seem to be targeting him now as there always seems to be acres of space on his side of the defence. Agree that the young lad Cooper looked a bit lost at the start but he grew into the game as it went on. Not too disappointed at dropping points as it really was end to end stuff all game. That's still only 3 defeats all season and hopefully we'll be back to winning ways in the next two games.
