  1. Brilliant game, best of the season for me. Would've been harsh on either side to lose. Both teams looked dangerous going forward and it could easily have ended up 5-5. We certainly had more of the chances, but poor finishing combined with some outstanding saves from Samson kept us at bay. In saying that they could've scored a couple in the space of 2 minutes at the end! A.Shinnie was absolutely immense, really driving forward at pace all game and his goal was a cracker. Unfortunately I've noticed several times this season how his brother, as good as he is going forward, tends to lose his man defensively all to often. Teams seem to be targeting him now as there always seems to be acres of space on his side of the defence. Agree that the young lad Cooper looked a bit lost at the start but he grew into the game as it went on. Not too disappointed at dropping points as it really was end to end stuff all game. That's still only 3 defeats all season and hopefully we'll be back to winning ways in the next two games.

    OTJ

Easily my MOTM today. What a player he's turning out to be this season. Hopefully he's over his injury problems, because he really has been a commanding figure in the middle for us. Always looks really composed on the ball, seems to make himself time to look up and normally pick the right pass, and is pretty formidable in the tackle. And a cracking shot on him too. As deserved are the plaudits for Shinnie and McKays, keeping hold of OTJ must be a major priority.
  3. I thought it was laughable when the police started filming. They must think they're dealing with the ICF! It's even more laughable hearing folk defending the police actions! There is no justification for the heavy handedness shown towards the young ones who do their best to generate a bit of atmosphere at the games. So what if a smoke bomb was thrown at Dingwall. It was completely harmless, and caused no damage. And the 'idiot' on the pitch? Well, equalising with the last kick of the ball against your rivals in the cup might just be reason enough for those actions. Again, no harm done. I don't remember the same condemnations directed at the many hundreds who invaded the pitch a couple of times at Ayr a few years ago.
  4. Just about thawed out after that! Rubbish game, great result. Other than McKay's brilliant second goal there wasn't much to cheer. We sat back after that, and invited them on us. To be fair to them they threw all they had at us, and if it wasn't for some brilliant goalkeeping, and a defence who put their bodies on the line, then it'd gone to extra time....the fact it didn't probably saved my toes from being amputated. As much as Vigurs is a wee *****, he certainly has a habit of scoring against us, and his goal last night was a beauty. Hopefully that's the bad game out of the way, and we resume normal service on Sat.
  5. I take it there'll be a cash turnstile. Can't get to the ground tomorrow daytime so just plan psying at the gate.
  6. Was having the same issue. Cleared my cache and now it seems to be back to normal.

    Billy McKay

In one of those 'who should we keep' type threads towards the end of last season, McKay was one of the few I suggested we should keep (bit of told you so here)! He's one of those pain in the arse players to play against, always nipping away at you. And he doesnt stop running. Plus he always holds the ball up well. The only thing missing was his lack of goals...he seemed to freeze when given chances, and clearly lacked confidence. Mind, we were constantly knocking high balls up to him last season, which against 6ft defenders he's never going to win. Now we're playing it a lot more on the deck, we're creating more chances, and Billy, after getting the first couple, has started tucking them away more regularly. He does have the potential to go on and become an ICT 'legend', as per the other thread,.
  8. Hard to pick a MOTM tonight, they were all superb. If forced though I'd pick A.Shinnie who more than made up for those misses on Sat. What date is the semi pencilled in for??
  9. Agree with those commenting about Roberts. Missed the DU game, but in the games I've seen him play, he really hasn't impressed me at all. We should've had yesterdays game wrapped up well before they equalised. Still, we really did rip them apart after the penalty and it was nice to see us playing some great stuff. OTJ was everywhere, and totally controlled the midfield...my MOTM by a distance.
  10. Speaking from a Welsh perspective....what a performance by Gareth Bale! Other than Ronaldo and Messi, I can't think of any other players in world football at the moment who are capable of winning games single handedly. He's up there with them. Good to see Maloney hold his hands up and admit he clipped Bale for the penalty, and you could see when it was given that he didn't protest at all. Simple fact is, everyone could see where the Welsh threat would come from, but Levein failed to address it. Time after time Bale simply destroyed Scotland down the right. Where do Scotland go from here? You have to get rid of Levein straight away The man is totally clueless when it comes to tactics, and doesn't seem to motivate the team at all. Considering that was as strong a team as Scotland could put out, and Wales with far less of a pool of players to select from, were missing our two main keepers, Bellamy, Taylor, and Collins, then it really doesnt look good for Levein. We're under no illusions in Wales. We know we're highly unlikely to qualify for major tournaments. Seems that Scottish fans still live with the delusion that they should be up there challenging the best in Europe. Expectations are way to high. The Scottish game as a whole is in a complete mess, and that's reflected in the national team. The likes of Brown, Hutton, Commons etc simply aren't good enough to compete at the top level. Until those that run the game in Scotland realise this, and start investing in the game, and players, from an early age, then it's only ever going to be downhill.
  11. Not much to add to what's already been said. Thought we were superb in the 1st half, the best I've seen us in a long time. We didn't give them a second on the ball. Draper and OTJ were class in midfield, and Meekings and Warren look an excellent pairing at the back. Was really pleased Doran got his goal, he's missed a few chances this season so hopefully that'll instill a bit more confidence in him in front of goal. The atmosphere was great, and that's the first time in a good while I've left the game beaming from ear to ear...still am!! Hard to pick a MOTM, but if pushed I'd give it to OTJ for his control of the midfield. Or Meekings
  12. He was sat right in front of me, so I know exactly what happened. The guy had gone out to the burger van for a smoke just after half time...lit one up, smoked half of it, and came back to his seat. Stewards came along, asked him to come for a chat, he refused, saying he payed to watch the footbball and thats what he was going to do. Next thing, the police came along and ejected him. He was thrown out for having a smoke, where plenty of others do at half time,
  13. That's the first time I've seen the new faces this year. Is Draper the unfittest looking player to ever wear an ICT shirt?
  14. Highly amusing I thought! Certainly the highlight of a dull second half anyway. Not excusing OTJ in any way, but if you're going to get sent off then you may as well do it in style, and he certainly did!!
  15. Newport have a few decent players, I've seen them a couple of times this season when I've been home visiting family, most recently in the FA Trophy final at Wembley. The standard of the Conference is decent enough. Not quite sure why people are knocking the standard, when there's folk on here who rated Tade!! Incidentally, Eric Odhiambo's brother, Eddie, was playing for County a couple of years back...and I notice he's now a free agent!
  16. I finally reached the conclusion yesterday that, well...we're not very good! I wouldn't even mind if we were losing games but still playing decent football. We don't even do that. Can't pass, can't score, can't defend. Oh, and pish at free kicks. What summed yesterday up for me was when, in the second half, their boy hacked Tade down on the edge of the box when he was clean through. If only their player had known...he'd have been as well letting Tade have a clean run on goal. He'd have messed it up anyway. Thats how little confidence I have in this teams ability. This season was the first for many that I decided against buying a season ticket. Best decision I've made in a while, as it's meant I've picked my matches rather than felt obliged to attend them all. My attendance has diminished as the season's progressed because we're just so dull to watch. I certainly won't be wasting anymore money on us this season.
  17. We should've won that match by half time. It was so so one sided, we just couldn't score. Second half...hmmm, still more chances, yet we rely on a penalty, and a flukey cross going in for our goals. While Hibs play woefully all game, make 3 chances in the whole game, and come away with the win. How Tade is playing at this level is beyond me. He's got no control, can't score, and little else close to skill. Why Butcher ever took Winnall on loan is a mystery, as he must be seriously pish if Tade gets a game ahead of him. Then again, who knows, as he's been given barely a chance to prove himself. Same with Sutherland. The lad looked like he had a bit of promise when he was used last year, but he seems to be turning into the new Rory McCallister this. McKay will come good I reckon. His overall play is very good, and to be fair, he's been a bit unlucky with the chances he's had in the last few matches. To many players (Foran, Tansey, to name 2) seem to want to walk the ball into the net when a chance comes their way, and it's infuriating to see chance after chance go begging. Thankfully this season is nearly over. It'll be interesting to see the transfer activity in the summer. If we lose Hayes we're going to be relegation favourites next season for sure.
  18. Really don't understand taking players on loan, like Winnall, and not playing them.
